Download PDFMicrosoft Compound Document File FormatThis document contains a description of the binary format of Microsoft Compound Document files. Compound document files are used to structure the contents of a document in the file. It is possible to divide the data into several streams, and to store these streams in different storages in the file. This way compound document files support a complete file system inside the file, the streams are like files in a real file system, and the storages are like sub directories.
Compound document files work similar to real file systems. They contain a number of independent data streams (like files in a file system) which are organised in a hierarchy of storages (like sub directories in a file system). Storages and streams are named. The names of all storages and streams that are direct members of a storage must be different. Names of streams or storages that are members of different storages may be equal. Each compound document file contains a root storage that is the direct or indirect parent of all other storages and streams.
Example of a storage/stream hierarchy. The names of all direct members of a storage must be different, but it is possible that two different storages contain a stream named “Stream1”.

As a vehicle for learning these techniques, we develop a model of a whimsical structure that I have called the Monkish Shot Tower after a group of imaginary Monks who have refined the technology of manufacturing lead shot for firearms, and the like. The tower is designed around the perfect number 7, features an external spiral stair, an elaborate canopy on top, and a hole down the centre. The final structure is illustrated in Figure 1 below.
This tutorial will introduce the following concepts and techniques: • simple solid modelling with solid primitives & CSG operations (the tower); • construction of complex solid objects (stair and landing); • user coordinate systems and positioning of objects (external stairs); • advanced use of the CSG operations (tapering the stairs); • simple surface modelling (the roof canopy and handrails); • surface modelling versus solid modelling (the handrails); • meshed surfaces (the landing “sails” for shading).

ToneUp S3 has taken the application a few steps further and now includes not only Nikon NEF processing but, with the incorporation of David Coffin's excellent DCRaw, any DSLR raw image processing, along with Image printing, Image Transfering, Image Browsing and Time Lapse photography.
ToneUp is really two products in one :-
Firstly, for Nikon cameras it is a Custom Curve tool and, in its most basic form, allows you to upload custom tone curves into your Nikon DSLR camera.
Features specifically designed for custom curves are :-
Create curves with the Curve window *
Preview curves effects on loaded images *
Compare curves with the Curve Browser *
Import curves from Nikon Capture and Adobe Photoshop *
Download from the online curve database *
Upload from the online curve database *
Embed curves into NEFs
Extract curves from NEFs
* These features are all available for all camera makes, not just Nikon

A major part of this transition involves newspaper companies producing greater amounts of video content online. Some are hoping the proven high engagement rates of video will generate to their websites greater traffic levels, longer time spent, and more follow-through actions from visitors – all with the ultimate goal of more revenue from advertisers, and overall monetization.
Newspapers are on the right path with producing regular video content, but they have largely been unsuccessful with their delivery and financial strategy. Newspapers are very capable of reaching their end goal, but it requires them adding a new component, which harnesses the full potential of traffic, engagement, and conversions – Video Search Engine Optimization, aka, “Video SEO."
Beginning 2009, Video SEO is a proven marketing strategy for many businesses, with well-established experts and applications already in place. Newspaper companies, including media companies with newspaper properties, are in a unique position to benefit from Video SEO and set their companies back on track to Internet revenue growth. However, newspapers cannot do this on their own. They will need to enlist the aid of Video SEO experts possessing an understanding of the special needs of publishing companies like newspapers, along with a proper application of the video publishing and SEO tools now available. This is essential if they are to be successful with transitioning to a1995-96 Volvo 850 Manual A/C-Heater SystemsSystem is equipped with a cycling clutch system that uses an expansion valve in refrigerant line between condenser and evaporator, near condenser. System is engaged when A/C switch on control panel is pressed. See Fig. 1. Pressure switch on accumulator cycles compressor clutch on and off. Blower fan speed is controlled by sliding switch on lower left of A/C-heater control panel.
Airflow modes are controlled by center knob on A/C-heater control panel. Mode doors are controlled by cables on left side of climate control unit. See Fig. 2. Temperature blend (air mix) doors, located on driver and passenger side respectively, is selected by left or right knob on A/C-heater control panel. Doors are controlled by cables on left side and center of climate control unit.
Fresh/recirculated air is selected by switch to lower right of mode knob on A/C-heater control panel. Door is controlled by recirculation motor on upper half of climate control unit. Air conditioning system will only operate above 32 £ F (0 £ C). Blower switch must be in position "1" or higher to engage compressor.
A/C compressor is connected in series with the low-pressure switch, high-pressure switch, and safety switch. The high-pressure and safety switch cut power to the A/C compressor if pressure in the A/C high-pressure circuit becomes excessive, supplying a signal to ECM to start cooling fan. Low-pressure switch (pressostat) turns A/C compressor on and off to maintain pressure within limits.

When the party arrived at a fork in the river in June 1805, the crew believed the north fork was the proper route; Captains Lewis and Clark thought the south course would get them to the Pacific Ocean. Alexander looks at the area on Google Earth.Com, which helps him understand the geography of this part of Montana. Alexander decides to supplement his paper with a visualization from Google Earth. He has a complete set of Lewis and Clark’s maps, in JPEG format, from their journey. He carefully overlays their maps onto the im- ages in Google Earth, adding placemarks for important milestones.
Once he has the journey superimposed on the satellite images, Alexander creates a screencast of himself navigating across the country toward the coast, following the route that the explorers took. His screencast narration touches on the events and circumstances that led to the decision at the fork near what is now the town of Great Falls. The images help explain the quandary the party found themselves in, as well as how they came to know they made the correct choice of the southern fork. Alexander also shows where the north fork would have taken the explorers and includes a hypothetical scenario about the difficulties the group would have encountered had they gone that way.

• MySQL is an SQL based relational database management system that runs on more than 20 platforms including Windows, Linux, OS/X, HP-UX and many more.
• The owner and producer of MySQL is a Swedish company called MySQL AB. They provide services and training programs for MySQL users. The software’s official website http://www.mysql.com gives the latest information about the company and MySQL.
• MySQL is declared the world’s most popular open source database by its founders: “It's used in more than 6 million installations ranging from large corporations to specialized embedded applications on every continent in the world. (Yes, even Antarctica!).” www.mysql.com
• The reasons for its popularity are: It is free and open source! Users can download the code for free and modify it according to their needs.
Its consistent fast performance. Speed is crucial in database driven applications since the time it takes for the user to see the result of a query is the main performance measure for the application.
High reliability. Every release of MySQL is heavily tested by users and developers all over the world since it is free of charge and open source. Ease of use. The main interaction with the MySQL server is through SQL commands which are easy to master!
It is supported by PHP (more on this later).
• A brief history of the software, its name and its logo from its founders at http://dev.mysql.com: “We started out with the intention of using mSQL to connect to our tables using our own fast low-level (ISAM) routines.
