Mambo Component Tutorial - Daily Message ComponentThis guide should help you build a functioning component, with a complete backend. After reading through this site, you should understand how some of the core classes in Mambo function so that you can employ the best methods for building your own component. A finished, fully installable version of the Daily Message component is available at http://www.jlleblanc.com/comtutor/com_dailymessage.zip. This component tutorial is valid as of Mambo 4.5 1.0.7.
Different people will understand the functionality of Mambo components in different ways. Developers with significant previous PHP experience may wish to start with dailymessage.php (the file generating the frontend display) and admin.dailymessage.php (generates the backend display). Others will want to start with the XML document which maps out every code source, image, and SQL query.

We also identify required and optional features for statically typed languages as well as conflict situations. The implementation presented in this paper is a simple prototype (a preprocessor) based on the trait flattening property [9]. It is meant to be a study case for a clean implementation.
The main problem concerning traits and statically typed languages like CSharp is about typing traits and to keep the ability to share code easily. Many approaches already exist in theory. This practical work contributes to the research about traits by presenting a simple prototype, showing the possibilities and difficulties in integrating traits in statically typed languages.
Although the focus of this work is on CSharp most of the results are directly applicable to other typed object-oriented languages. The implemented “trait flattening framework”, kept mostly language independent, would also work for most other c-like languages (with only slight modification).
Section 2 shortly introduces traits. The following sections cover the basics about CSharp, give a short overview about a first dirty-prototype done in CSharp itself and contain some more extensive descriptions, results and practical research by doing the final implementation using Smalltalk.

Download PDFA New Paradigm in Data Intensive Computing: Stork and the Data-Aware SchedulersThe unbounded increase in the computation and data requirements of scientific applications has necessitated the use of widely distributed compute and storage resources to meet the demand. In a widely distributed environment, data is no more locally accessible and has thus to be remotely retrieved and stored. Efficient and reliable access to data sources and archiving destinations in such an environment brings new challenges. Placing data on temporary local storage devices offers many advantages, but such “data placements” also require careful management of storage resources and data movement, i.e. allocating storage space, staging-in of input data, staging-out of generated data, and de-allocation of local storage after the data is safely stored at the destination. Traditional systems closely couple data placement and computation, and consider data placement as a side effect of computation. Data placement is either embedded in the computation and causes the computation to delay, or performed as simple scripts which do not have the privileges of a job.
The insufficiency of the traditional systems and existing CPU-oriented schedulers in dealing with the complex data handling problem has yielded a new emerging era: the data-aware schedulers. One of the first examples of such schedulers is the Stork data placement scheduler. In this paper, we will discuss the limitations of the traditional schedulers in handling the challenging data scheduling problem of large scale distributed applications; give our vision for the new paradigm in data-intensive scheduling; and elaborate on our case study: the Stork data placement scheduler. It duplicates and enhances the video and audio signals from up to four input sources (computers), and routes them to up to four output devices (monitors, projectors, etc.). The VS-0404 provides fast, flexible, reliable solutions for installations that require audio-visual information from multiple sources to be delivered to multiple destinations – such as: Broadcasting information to public locations (news, airline and train schedule and arrival/departure information)
Sporting events Theater and lecture overflow rooms Classroom and company training facilities Clearly marked front panel switches and LED indicators make it easy to link sources with desired output devices, creating a matrix of presentation possibilities. Features Front panel push button switches select the combination of video input to video output. Duplicates and enhances video signals up to 65 m (max.) Cascadable Audio enabled Installation Requirements A VGA, SVGA, XGA or Multisync monitor capable of the highest resolution that you will be using on any computer in the installation for each output port you will be using. Speakers for each output port you will be using. A video cable with HDB-15 connectors (male on one end and female on the other end) for each computer you will be installing.* An audio cable for each computer you will be installing.

Everyone wants super realism and car crashes that defy the common sense and on top of that, what little market was left for this genre it was completely taken by the NFS series. We also have to admit that the last Test Drive wasn’t the real competitor we expected it to be so it was pretty easy for it to get lost in the shadows. Here are some cheats to remind you of those old times. Cheat mode: Enter one of the following names to activate the corresponding cheat function.

In typical open-source style, it was written to scratch an itch. André Renaud had just installed an infa-red sensor in his computer and was using a stereo remote-control to change what track XMMS was playing, but he could not see the track title from across the room. So André sat down and wrote XOSD to display track-names in XMMS.
Over time features were added and XOSD became a stand-alone library, rather than just a plug-in for XMMS; eventually, XOSD 1.0 was released.
