Adobe Flex 2 Programming ActionScript 3.0This manual provides a foundation for developing applications in ActionScript 3.0. To best understand the ideas and techniques described, you should already be familiar with general programming concepts such as data types, variables, loops, and functions. You should also understand basic object-oriented programming concepts like classes and inheritance. Prior knowledge of ActionScript 1.0 or ActionScript 2.0 is helpful but not necessary.
The manual contains numerous sample files for important or commonly used classes to demonstrate application programming concepts for those APIs. Sample files are packaged in ways to make them easier to load and use with Adobe® Flex™ Builder 2 and may include wrapper files. However, the core sample code is pure ActionScript 3.0 that you can use in whichever development environment you prefer. ActionScript 3.0 can be written and compiled a number of ways, including: ? Using the Adobe Flex Builder 2 development environment ? Using any text editor and a command-line compiler, such as the one provided with Flex Builder 2
? Using the Adobe® Flash® CS3 authoring tool from Adobe For more information about ActionScript development environments

DownloadKeynote Tunes Web 2.0 Performance for End UsersKeynote Systems (Keynote) has been busy preparing for several fall launches covering mobile, voice over IP (VoIP), Web site and user experience test and measurement services. To add fuel to the already fast-paced momentum, the company just announced end of fiscal year 2007 revenues that were the strongest in the company’s history—a 22% jump from its respective 2006 results! The thread across all of Keynote’s announcements is its “loud and clear” support for measuring the responsiveness, reliability and customer experience of Web sites using Web 2.0 technologies from the end user perspective.
Specific products addressed in this brief include WebEffective 6.0, Application Perspective 5.0, and Transaction Perspective 8.0. WebEffective 6.0 includes capabilities for assessing user experience on Web 2.0 sites. The new versions of Keynote’s flagship on-demand services for testing and measuring the performance of Web sites Application Perspective 5.0 and Transaction Perspective 8.0 have been enhanced to allow for comprehensive testing and monitoring of AJAX-based and other Web 2.0 applications. Additionally, Keynote has introduced the Keynote Internet Testing Environment (KITE) that is designed to bridge the gap between Web developers and Web operations. KITE provides Web application developers with point and click access to a consistent testing and measurement platform for the entire application lifecycle using IE7.

The building block for establishing this interactivity are called “groups”.
What are groups and what function they have?
Groups are a collection of users who can share access to protected resources and tools. A group enables users with permissions (ASPIRA Staff members) to create and manage their own groups. ASPIRA Official groups are created by the webmaster, which has special permissions including the ability to delete the group the owner created.
Group members or subscribers communicate amongst themselves using the group home page as a focal point. They do so by posting the usual content types: blog, story, web page, etc.; or by communicating via e-mail, chats, and they can also share documents. A block or menu is shown on the group home page that links to these group specific posts and actions. The block also provides summary information about the group.
Groups membership may be selective or not. ASPIRA official groups are selective groups which require approval by the group administrator in order to become a member. This feature makes our groups and our members to interact on a safe environment. In order to allow an individual to belong “subscribe” to a group is by inserting a group code on his/her registration profile. ASPIRA groups are private groups which will not be displayed in a list of groups which can be viewed by non-ASPIRA members.

In this paper we shall look at different approaches and tools to improve security posture at both, the server as well as browser ends. Listed below are the key learning objectives:
• The need for Ajax fingerprinting and content filtering.
• The concept of Ajax fingerprinting and its implementation in the browser using XHR.
• Processing Ajax fingerprints on the Web server.
• Implementation using ModSecurity for Apache
• Strengthening browser security using HTTP response content filtering of untrusted information directed at the browser in the form of RSS feeds or blogs.
• Web application firewall (WAF) for content filtering and defense against Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)
Requirement for Ajax fingerprints and filtering
Ajax is being used very liberally in next generation Web applications, forming an invisible layer in the browser’s transport stack and bringing to the fore numerous browser-related attacks, all centered around Ajax. Although Ajax applications hold a lot of promise, there are loopholes being exploited by viruses, worms and malicious attackers in Web 2.0 applications that need to be looked at a little more closely. Ajax hides a lot of server-side critical resources due to its calling mechanism, bringing in sloppiness in coding patterns and fueling vulnerabilities in the server-side application layer as well. Untrusted resource processing from blogs, feeds and mash-ups are making Ajax vulnerabilities relatively easy to exploit. In such situations Ajax request and response fingerprinting and filtering mechanisms can enhance the security posture of Web applications. Many still get by without one today, but most consider a website essential for practice development. Doubts about whether to have a website seem quaint now. Ten years from now, the issue of whether to engage in the “Web 2.0 conversation” will seem quaint.
How the Web Was Won
Web 2.0 refers to the new version of the World Wide Web, which is more collaborative and “user-generated” than the previous version. In the early days of the Web, content flowed mainly one way: from websites to users. Web 2.0, also called the social Web, enables users—people with no web programming skills, HTML knowledge, or website development experience—to create content and form communities of content creators. In fact, Time magazine named such users (“You”) its Person of the Year in 2006. Instead of flowing one way, online content now flows every which way and back again—it’s a conversation.
Web 2.0 marketing tools include social networking sites (like Facebook and LinkedIn), which let you build your personal, professional, or company profile online, and connect with other site members to build relationships, share referrals, educate each other, and form virtual communities. Social media sites make it easy for anyone to publish original content, including news (Newsvine), information (Wikipedia), photos (Flickr), videos (YouTube), and user-generated content of all kinds on blogs (Blogger, WordPress), micro-blogs (Twitter), specialized wikis (Wikispaces, PBwiki, Google Sites), and forums (Google Groups). All of the above
