  • Protecting Individual Privacy in the Web 2.0 Era
  • “The right to privacy” was the title of a scholarly article in the Harvard Law Review of 1890 (written by Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis), which proclaimed such a right in view of the rapid expansion of print media that sometimes published pictures of private individuals. More than a hundred years later, anyone of us in this room can take pictures with a mobile phone or digital camera and put them into the World Wide Web. When we speak of the “Web 2.0”, we have in mind this kind of communications network which allows everyone to publish and share text, sound and images. Chat rooms, Blogs, Wikis, open collaborative networks and the like are on the rise and lead to marvellous international contacts and co-operation at individual level. So far, media content has been produced by journalists and media staff with editorial responsibility and ethical codes of conduct. But what are the standards for the common users of the Internet, whether young or old, educated or not, wherever they live in this world, and World Wide Web? Do we want to limit this new and seemingly endless freedom in cyberspace? The World Wide Web is often characterised as a wonderful space which is open to everyone and creates its own new rules. Such glorifications are probably naïve, because the technology may be extremely good, but we human beings using this technology are still the same I cannot attempt to provide answers to all questions concerning privacy on the Web 2.0, but I draw attention
  • NFS Hot Pursuit 2 Cheat Codes and Unlockables - Trainer pdf
  • The new era of NFS graphics started with this game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 is a 2002 racing video game, serving as the debut Need for Speed (NFS) title of Black Box Games and the first Need For Speed for the “next-generation” of consoles. Hot Pursuit 2 draws primarily from the gameplay and style of Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit; its emphasis was on evading the police and over-the-top tracks featuring lengthy shortcuts. Even though the game allowed players to play as the police, the pursuit mode was drastically less realistic than preceding versions of NFS, as players merely needed to “tap” a speeder a certain number of times to arrest them, as opposed to using actual police tactics, such as spinning the offending driver, as well as utilizing spike strips to immobilize a speeding vehicle (as in real life). In the Championship and Hot Pursuit modes, you’ll earn extra points if you get a medal, decided by the requirements. For example, a sprint (see section below) would give you 5000 points if you get the gold, 4000 for silver, and 2500 for bronze, etc. Points would give you types of tracks to race on, cars, police cars, etc.. • Setting up the LitePro 580 Manual
  • This chapter describes how to position the LitePro for optimum viewing, how to connect computers and video equipment to the LitePro, and how to power up the projector. Getting started 1. Choose a location where you can dim the lighting. ” To use the LitePro in a well-lit room, use a special high gain screen, which you can obtain from your In Focus dealer. 2. Place the LitePro on a flat surface. 3. Orient the LitePro so that its lens is at a right angle to the projec-tion screen. ” If you want to use the LitePro s Rear Project feature, set it up behind a translucent screen. See Rear Proj on page 28. 4. Remove the lens cover. 5. Plug the power cord into the LitePro, then plug it into your elec-trical outlet. Always use the power cord that was shipped with your LitePro. The LitePro accepts power from 110-120 VAC and 220-240 VAC, 50 or 60 Hz, three-wire type grounded sources. When you disconnect the LitePro, always remove the power cord from the electrical outlet first, then from the LitePro. It is recommended that you connect a power strip between the LitePro and your electrical outlet to protect against a power surge. Positioning the projector The distance from the LitePro 580 to the screen determines the size of the projected image. Use of the LitePro s X1.4 zoom lens also affects screen size. The table below indicates the size of the screen image when using the maximum
  • Changes between the ASP.NET AJAX (“Atlas”) CTP and the RTM Releases
  • The ASP.NET team is delivering a framework for generating Web applications that can take advantage of the latest capabilities in client functionality that fall under the general banner of Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) and Rich Interactive Applications (RIA). The new Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX addition to the .NET Framework includes a suite of JavaScript libraries (the Client Framework or Client FX) that are the foundation for creating rich behaviors and controllike functionality in the browser. ASP.NET AJAX also includes a set of a server controls and base classes for extender controls (the Server Framework or Server FX) that provides AJAX programming functionality and experiences for ASP.NET Web developers. ASP.NET AJAX functionality has been available to the public since October 2005 as a series of Community Technology Previews (CTPs), demonstrating everything from rich client behavior and asynchronous Web page postbacks to invoking and consuming Web services through JavaScript proxies. This paper describes the major differences between the final CTP release (made publicly available in July 2006) and the upcoming Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX v1.0 release (here called the RTM release). It also discusses a "futures" preview version (the Futures release) that adds functionality to the RTM release. (The RTM and the Futures releases together enable the full functionality and customer scenarios that were supported in the early CTP releases.) Further changes to the RTM and Futures releases may occur up to the Release Candidate (RC) version, which will be the final release before RTM. The document is organized in sections detailing specific

  • A LATEX survival guide for Unix systems
  • This document is designed to provide new users of LAEX with a reference for the local features not documented in the manual (The LATEX Book, Lesley Lamport, Addison Wesley 1987); it takes the place of the Local Guide referred to in the book. For a general introduction to LATEX, you are referred to the companion manual Essential LATEX ++, mostly by Jon Warbrick. For a general introduction to the concepts of the TEX software distribution, see Joachim Schrod’s Components of TEX. Readers of this document will normally be staff or students who have either taught themselves LATEX, or are being taught it as part of a course. Completely new users should read Essential LATEX ++ £rst, to familiarize themselves with basic concepts. Most of this manual is for reference purposes, so do not read it as a tutorial text! LATEX runs on a variety of computers at many different sites. This document tells you how to use LATEX on Unix computers. It is not about LATEX itself, which is described by the manual—LATEX: A Document Preparation System, published by Addison-Wesley, available at the book shop. If you have a question that you can’t answer by reading the manual and this document, ask the local support team. Download pdf A LATEX survival guide for Unix systems
