Ford Sierra 4x4 Supplement ManualThe Ford supplied Sierra 4x4 Supplementary Workshop Manual is a "must have" for any owner of one of these cars. The biggest problem can be actually finding one to purchase. I got lucky and managed to get mine direct from a Ford dealer, brand new for ?8, who was having a clearout. They do appear regularly at autojumbles and it is just a case of keep looking. The manual only covers those items unique to the 4x4 Sierra’s and are to be used in conjunction with the Ford Sierra Workshop Manual.
Ford never produced a supplement that covered the 2.9 engine or the later Mark Two model but all the running gear sections are relevant as this never changed during the life of the model. I believe there is also a supplement that covers the MT75 gearbox for the 2.9 models. I have included below some information and diagrams that maybe helpful to owners.

Added benefits and savings occur when you check that the engine, undercarriage, and noise emission control parts are in good working order during lubrication. This maintenance manual explains when you should lubricate parts and what to look for when checking for wear or damage. For daily and weekly checks, refer to the vehicle driver’s manual.

The author knows no easy way of importing Microsoft Office AutoCorrect entries into OpenOffice.org.
Custom dictionaries
Dictionaries are used when checking any document for spelling errors. Custom dictionaries are enhanced dictionaries that contain words applicable to particular industries or pursuits, unique words, or custom spellings.
OpenOffice.org does not provide a way to import Microsoft Office’s custom dictionaries. However, a macro has been developed to import Office’s custom dictionaries into OpenOffice.org. A link to download the file is at http://ooomacros.org/user.php#114694. To import Microsoft Office’s custom dictionaries, follow the steps below. (Details are given in the following sections.)
1) Create a new dictionary in OpenOffice.org (optional).
2) Download the file that contains the macro.
3) In Microsoft Word, locate where the custom dictionaries are stored.
4) Import the dictionary into OpenOffice.org.
Create a new dictionary in OpenOffice.org
This step is optional. You can add the words to an existing custom dictionary in OOo.
1) Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids > New.
2) New Dictionary dialog (Figure 1): Give the dictionary a name.

On a PC, click Start > Programs > Adobe > Photoshop CS2, or click on the shortcut on the desktop. On a Mac, click Macintosh HD > Application > Adobe Photoshop CS2 > Adobe Photoshop CS2 shown in Figure 1, or click the icon in the Dock. SETTING UP THE DOCUMENT Setting up your document correctly from the start will make your job much easier as you work through your project.
This will require some advanced planning. For example, if your final output will be a brochure, you may need to set up your document to be horizontal and double-sided. To create a new document, click File > New. This will open the Document Setup dialog box (Figure 2).

You will be expected to implement an abstract protocol called Simple Registration Protocol using simple TCP socket programming. To illustrate the use of the protocol, you will also implement a concrete application: a simple appointment management system. This application will introduce you to the use of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP), a free, powerful and commonly-used combination for Web-based applications.
The SRP uses a client-server model where multiple client processes request services from a server using request messages. These requests are answered using reply messages. The SRP includes only one mandatory request message (called REQ) and one mandatory reply message (REP). REQ is sent by a client to the server to indicate a specific application-defined service (e.g. reservation, confirmation, information request). The server responds with a REP message, the contents of which is specific to each type of request. The server should check the validity of each request and should not fail if an invalid request is received.
The client follows these three steps to make a request:
1. Establishes a TCP connection with the server,
2. Sends the request to the server, and
3. Closes the connection.
If the request is valid, the server
1. Opens a TCP connection to the client,
2. Sends the reply, and
3. Closes the connection.
Note that the REQ and REP messages are sent in two separate TCP sessions. The client will close the existing REQ TCP session and wait for the server to open a new TCP session for the REP.
Download pdfHow to Use the New Internet for Business DevelopmentTen years ago, many managers of small professional practices were wondering if they needed their own company website. Many still get by without one today, but most consider a website essential for practice development. Doubts about whether to have a website seem quaint now. Ten years from now, the issue of whether to engage in the “Web 2.0 conversation” will seem quaint.
How the Web Was Won
Web 2.0 refers to the new version of the World Wide Web, which is more collaborative and “user-generated” than the previous version. In the early days of the Web, content flowed mainly one way: from websites to users. Web 2.0, also called the social Web, enables users—people with no web programming skills, HTML knowledge, or website development experience—to create content and form communities of content creators. In fact, Time magazine named such users (“You”) its Person of the Year in 2006. Instead of flowing one way, online content now flows every which way and back again—it’s a conversation.
Web 2.0 marketing tools include social networking sites (like Facebook and LinkedIn), which let you build your personal, professional, or company profile online, and connect with other site members to build relationships, share referrals, educate each other, and form virtual communities. Social media sites make it easy for anyone to publish original content, including news (Newsvine), information (Wikipedia), photos (Flickr), videos (YouTube), and user-generated content of all kinds on blogs (Blogger, WordPress), micro-blogs (Twitter), specialized wikis (Wikispaces, PBwiki, Google Sites), and forums (Google Groups). All of the aboveThe Macintosh Users Guide to Making and Burning CD- ROM Discs of EmulatorsThis document is intended for Mac users that want to make discs of homebrew games and emulators working on their Dreamcast system. Currently, there is a rather easy way to do this, but I see the same questions over and over again with methods that in my opinion are somewhat dated (though still useful if there is no other option). The world of DC emulation and homebrews can be confusing to the new user even if you are on a PC.
Since there is a flood of PC based tutorials, I will not be covering how to do make DC homebrew discs on a PC at this time, though I will in a future revision cover a couple of programs that will be of use to Mac users that will easily run under something like VirtualPC and do not have Mac equivalents.
Also, I will make few things clear from the beginning. By emulators, I mean programs that are specifically designed to run on the Dreamcast to emulate another computer or game system. There is currently no Dreamcast emulator for the Mac, and there probably won't be in the near future. Also, this guide will not tell you how to make bootable copies of commercial Dreamcast discs. If that is what you are looking for, go someplace else. Any messages or emails on this subject will be deleted. Finally, while I will cover this in the faq section, do not ask me where you can find roms for the emulators. Likewise, instructional designs are developed to enable and motivate students at center stage to learn effectively and willingly. However, from our ten years of experience in promoting an e-Learning system called TIES in higher education, we have realized that an “e-Teaching” environment for teachers to teach effectively and happily needs to be founded as a prerequisite to successful e-Learning.
We further argue that “e-Teaching” can be developed to be a central idea that is actually more important than e-Learning. The reasons are as follows: (1) teaching is more fun and active than learning, (2) teaching requires more creative and imaginative brain work than learning, (3) teaching creates more value than learning, and (4) the Web is growing as a global brain harnessing intellectual knowledge. A seemingly innocuous shift of the center of attention from students to teachers may transform e-Teaching as a current Web 0 status to even Web 2.1, if we may borrow a trendy word from a recent Web 2.0 hype.
Increasingly, e-Leaning today is defined by terms like Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the context of ubiquitous IT network society. However, the bottom line of e-Learning is defined as training delivered on a PC/Internet to improve students' learning performance and their self-motivation and self-directedness. Instructional designs are also aimed at supporting students to learn effectively in an e-Learning environment.
Thus, the architecture of e-Learning is clearly focused on students, and
