  • RealObjects PDFreactor Manual
  • RealObjects PDFreactor is a powerful formatting processor that enables server-side PDF creation from XML and XHTML/HTML documents using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to define page layout and styles. You can dynamically generate PDF documents such as reports, invoices, statements and others on-the-fly. Since PDFreactor runs on your server, the end-user does not need any software other than a Web browser with a free PDF viewer. By implementing the W3C specification for Paged Media and print, PDFreactor provides great control over the paged output via CSS. It is very easy to set page sizes, margins and pagination for specific elements, page headers and footers. Using proprietary configuration and CSS properties, it is possible to set PDF specific information, to generate outlines and links for your documents and even to add meta information about the author or keywords. PDFreactor is provided as a Java library. The PDFreactor Java API is perfectly complemented by a .NET and a PHP API which enable a smooth cooperation of PDFreactor and your web applications. Being an integrator or developer with focus on Java, Servlet, EJB, CGI, PHP or .NET programming, you can easily integrate PDFreactor into your servlet, EJB or Web Service by using the comprehensive APIs at your disposal. In the simplest case you only have to specify an input and output file to generate a PDF document. It is also possible to use the operating system's standard input (stdin) and output (std-out) streams to read and write content. This is especially useful when using PDFreactor with

  • SQL - Structured Query Language Structured Query Language, is a computer language designed for retrieval and management of data in relational database management systems database schema creation and modification database object access control management. History: The first version of SQL was developed at IBM by Donald D. Chamberlin and Raymond F. Boyce in the early 1970s. Standardized in 1986 by ANSI. Subsequent versions of the SQL standard have been released as ISO standards Latest SQL Standards SQL:2003: Introduced XML-related features, window functions, standardized sequences, and columns with auto-generated values (including identity-columns). SQL:2006: ISO/IEC 9075-14:2006 defines ways in which SQL can be used in conjunction with XML. It defines ways of importing and storing XML data in an SQL database, manipulating it within the database and publishing both XML and conventional SQL-data in XML form. It provides facilities that permit applications to integrate into their SQL code the use of XQuery, the XML Query Language published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), to concurrently access ordinary SQL-data and XML documents. Why MySQL? Open source databases are showing the highest growth rate in the database market, according to a new study by analyst firm Gartner. MySQL is a key part of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP / Perl / Python), a fast growing open source enterprise software stack. MySQL runs on more than 20 platforms including Linux, Windows, OS/X, HP-UX, AIX, Netware. More and more companies are using LAMP as an alternative to expensive proprietary software stacks because of its lower cost and freedom from lock-in. Implies Job Opportunities. • Aspira - How to update users or client data
  • The ASPIRA Association web site provides its users the capability to create “virtual communities” which allows interaction among like-minded individuals. The building block for establishing this interactivity are called “groups”. What are groups and what function they have? Groups are a collection of users who can share access to protected resources and tools. A group enables users with permissions (ASPIRA Staff members) to create and manage their own groups. ASPIRA Official groups are created by the webmaster, which has special permissions including the ability to delete the group the owner created. Group members or subscribers communicate amongst themselves using the group home page as a focal point. They do so by posting the usual content types: blog, story, web page, etc.; or by communicating via e-mail, chats, and they can also share documents. A block or menu is shown on the group home page that links to these group specific posts and actions. The block also provides summary information about the group. Groups membership may be selective or not. ASPIRA official groups are selective groups which require approval by the group administrator in order to become a member. This feature makes our groups and our members to interact on a safe environment. In order to allow an individual to belong “subscribe” to a group is by inserting a group code on his/her registration profile. ASPIRA groups are private groups which will not be displayed in a list of groups which can be viewed by non-ASPIRA members. As the group administrator you can: administer organic group
