Linux, Windows 95/NT, OS/2, all flavors of Unix like Solaris, HPUX, AIX, SCO, Sinix, BSD, etc. PHP stands for 'Hypertext Pre?Processor' and is a server side HTML scripting/programming language. PHP is a tool that lets you create dynamic web pages. PHP?enabled web pages are treated just like regular HTML pages and you can create and edit them the same way you normally create regular HTML pages. PHP was kept the "top secret and strictly confidential" computer language by many companies in the world, but now had become the most well?known and most widely used scripting language for web, internet, e?commerce and business?to?business projects. Even today many competing companies keep PHP language as a highly confidential matter not disclosing to outsiders (competitors). PHP will storm the entire world and will take the IT industry by surprise!! The power of PHP is that it is cross?platform and runs everywhere!! It runs on Linux, Windows 95/98/NT, Windows 2000, Solaris, HPUX and all flavors of unix. PHP is write once and deploy anywhere and everywhere. It runs on many web?servers like Apache, Microsoft IIS, etc.. PHP runs 5 to 20 times faster than Java!! It is extremely easy to use and you can develop very complex web/e?commerce
  • Mixing the Objective Caml and C# Programming Models in the .NET Framework
  • The .NET platform claims to be a melting pot that allows the integration of different languages in a common framework, sharing a common type system, CTS, and a runtime environment, CLR (Common Language Runtime). Each .NET compiler generates portable MSIL byte-code (MicroSoft Intermediate Language). By assuming compliance to the CTS type system, components inter-operate safely. The .NET framework is actually well suited for object-oriented languages which have an object model close to the one of C# or Java. Unfortunately, languages with other kinds of object models, type systems or supporting different programming paradigms (such as functional programming .. . ) do not fit in .NET as well as C# does. Writing .NET compilers for them requires much more efforts. However, the .NET framework still gives us a good opportunity to experiment interoperability between two languages as different as Objective Caml[1] (shortened as O’Caml) and C#. O’Caml is an ML dialect: it is a functional/imperative statically typed language, featuring parametric polymorphism, an exception mechanism, an object layer and parameterized modules. By achieving interoperability, each language gains access to a wider set of libraries and programmers take advantage of a richer programming model. We use the experimental OCamIL compiler[2], which compiles the whole O’Caml distribution (including toplevel) to .NET managed code. We intend to communicate between O’Caml and C# by means of their respective object models. Difficulties arise because neither the type system nor the object model of O’Caml natively fit in the CTS. O’Caml objects cannot be directly compiled to CTS objects. Communication cannot

  • Forget Web 2.0, where’s SMS 2.0?
  • Last month I was fortunate enough to be invited to a private roundtable of operator executives and entrepreneurs asked to share their ideas and opinions on the opportunities and challenges facing the mobile data industry. Now it’s a very rare day when these two constituencies can agree on anything, so imagine my surprise when both camps reached a consensus on the positive impacts that Web 2.0 services will have on non-voice revenues. The operators expressed their envy and excitement about the pace of innovation and consumer adoption of Web 2.0 services on the internet, and with certainty predicted good fortunes and optimism for the entire value chain when these Web 2.0 services have been migrated to mobile. Indeed this group isn’t alone in its optimism for this “Web 2.0 to Mobile” migration strategy. It seems not a month went by in 2007 without an announcement by a handset vendor, a mobile operator, a media company, or hundreds of entrepreneurial software startups, investing in technical and marketing initiatives and ultimately clamoring to align themselves with one of the Web 2.0 superstars. Okay I admit it. I just don’t get it. Perhaps I’m slow because I’m Canadian, but I just don’t understand the business rationale or source of optimism related to this “Web 2.0 to Mobile” migration strategy. If this optimism is being driven by the scale of revenues that Web 2.0 companies generate from advertising on the internet, and how this can in some shape or form lead to a new revenue stream for mobile

  • Non-Programmers Tutorial For Python
  • So, you’ve never programmed before. As we go through this tutorial I will attempt to teach you how to program. There really is only one way to learn to program. You must read code and write code. I’m going to show you lots of code. You should type in code that I show you to see what happens. Play around with it and make changes. The worst that can happen is that it won’t work. When I type in code it will be formatted like this: ##Python is easy to learn print "Hello, World!" That’s so it is easy to distinguish from the other text. To make it confusing I will also print what the computer outputs in that same font. Now, on to more important things. In order to program in Python you need the Python software. If you don’t already have the Python software go to http://www.python.org/download/ and get the proper version for your platform. Download it, read the instructions and get it installed. Installing Python First you need to download the appropriate file for your computer from http://www.python.org/download. Go to the 2.0 link (or newer) and then get the windows installer if you use Windows or the rpm or source if you use Unix. The Windows installer will download to file. The file can then be run by double clicking on the icon that is downloaded. The installation will then proceed. If you get the Unix source make sure you compile in the tk extension if you want to use IDLE. Download pdf Non-Programmers
