  • Medieval: Total War and Viking Invasion Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC pdf
  • Medieval was the second addition to the Total War series by Creative Assembly. It featured 12 playable factions and an extra 8 non-playable factions. The setting embodied the four centuries from the First Crusade to the Fall of Constantinople (1087 – 1453). These were bloody times in the history of humanity with continuous warfare and strife in Europe. This RTS focuses on the nations in Europe, North Africa and Middle East. It’s a world of chaos and every faction out there hopes (and does its best) to conquer as many provinces as possible. The expansion, Viking Invasion, featured a new campaign map of the British Islands and the surrounding part of Europe and proposed the player to start his career about 300 years sooner (792 AD) and either try to unite the people of Britain or raid every settlement on the coast by playing the Viking faction. Although the existing campaign is also expanded with new units and three of the formerly non-playable factions become available, the only main difference (aside from the Viking campaign) was really the fixing of the “swipe” bug. This bug in the original Medieval enables the player to give his cavalry unlimited charging bonus. The only problem was that Medieval players were unable to join Viking Invasion multiplayer games and vice-versa. That’s why the only acceptable solution was for some of them, that is for those that were OK with the bug, to stick to the original PvP servers while the rest would include Vikings on
  • Can C# Replace Java in CS1 and CS2?
  • Microsoft has developed a language called C# (—see sharp“) that it claims will allow programmers to —quickly and easily build solutions“ for its new.NET platform [3]. The language has much in common with Java, particularly in those features emphasized in CS1 and CS2 courses. It also includes some of the desirable features of C++ that are missing from Java as well as some new features not available in either language. This paper explores the pros and cons of teaching CS1 and CS2 using C# instead of Java and concludes with a discussion of the author‘s plans for teaching such a course in the fall of 2002. Bill Gates has referred to the .NET technologies as —the breakthrough tools that will allow developers to write the next generation of applications“ [2]. He might be spouting marketing hype, but the release of .NET clearly constitutes a watershed for the company. Many schools will choose to ignore what Microsoft does, but others will find the Microsoft connection appealing. Few departments would sacrifice the quality of instruction just to teach .practical. tools that are currently used in industry. But if C# turns out to be as useful as Java in teaching the CS curriculum, some schools will choose C# instead of Java because of the particular interests of their students, their school or their community. There has been a shift away from C++ in computer science education in recent years. The reasons for this shift were documented in a report from an ad-hoc committee formed by the

  • Intrusive Data Structures
  • This article compares two styles of building data structures and data structure libraries in C++: (a) Intrusive data structures formed by pointers stored inside the application objects, (b) Containers where auxiliary objects form the required data structure, and only point to the application objects without adding any pointers or other data to them. Each style works better in different situations, and the first half of the article discusses the impact of this choice on program performance, code maintainability, ease of use and data integrity. When working with templates, containers are easier to implement, which may be the reason why most class libraries are based on containers. The only existing library which is consistently intrusive (Code Farms) uses a code generator. If intrusive data structures could not be implemented with templates, their applicability would be severely limited. The second half of the article deals with this pivotal question, shows an elegant way of building an intrusive data structure library with templates, explains why its interface is similar to- but cannot be identical with STL, discusses the impact of the new architecture on class dependency, and compares the new approach with existing libraries. A prototype of the new library is now available under the name Pattern Template Library. Open any book on data structures, and somewhere near the beginning you will find a linked list similar to Fig.1a. This is the type of list you would probably use in your program if you were not using any class library. Download pdf Intrusive Data Structures
  • Epson Stylus RIP Users Guide Manual
  • The Epson Stylus RIP software lets you use your Epson Stylus Color or Epson Stylus Photo ink jet printer as a PostScript 3 (Macintosh, Windows 2000, and Windows NT) and level 2 (Windows 95 and 98) compatible printer. It reads the Adobe PostScript files automatically created by the Epson Stylus RIP printer driver, seamlessly converts them into raster images, automatically prints them on your printer. You can use the Espon Stylus RIP with both Macintosh and Windows systems, in standalone or networked configurations. Adobe Post Script is the industry standard for high-quality graphic output. All the elements in a document - including text, graphic, and other images - are processed and reproduced using Post Script code. Then, when you print from an application such as QuarkXPress, the RIP software creates a raster image from the PostScript code and send it to your printer. Do you need PostScript? In many cases, you may not need the ability to print in PostScript, and for these occasions you should use the standard, non-PostScript driver that comes with your printer. Using the standard driver is also a good way to ensure that your computer and printer are connected and working properly, so make sure you install the non-PostScript Epson driver following the instructions in your printers setup documentation. • The Ten Minute Guide to Setting Up a Linux Web Server
  • A Web server has different partition requirements than a desktop or a file server. For a machine with 26 GB of hard disk space, spread out over two drives, here's one possible configuration. Boot is always 100 MB, unless you're so pressed for disk space that you need to reduce it further. /var/www is where Web server files go, so you'll want a lot of room there. Swap is usually twice the amount of RAM. hda (12 GB) - boot 100 MB - /var/www 11,000 MB - swap 500 (assuming 256 MB of RAM) Reserve a fair amount of space for /tmp and /var, which hold files like logs and working files. Putting each of these in its own partition means that, for example, a log file that runs out of control won't crash the rest of the system. Reserve a fair amount of space for /home. And increase that if you're going to have other people maintaining their own home directories on your Web server. The rest goes to the root partition. hdb (14 GB) - / 5000 - /tmp 2000 - /home 3000 - /var 2000 If you're not using DHCP, you're going to need to configure your network card manually. In the Network Configuration step, select the Edit button to the right of the Network Devices list box. You'll uncheck the “Configure using HDCP” check box, and then enter the IP Address and Netmask for your Web server computer. Once back in the Network Configuration step, you'll select the “Set the hostname” option button to “manually”, and enter
  • Introduction to Grid Commputing with Globus
  • Fundamentals and concepts Using the Globus Toolkit OGSA introduction Grid computing, most simply stated, is distributed computing taken to the next evolutionary level. The goal is to create the illusion of a simple yet large and powerful self managing virtual computer out of a large collection of connected heterogeneous systems sharing various combinations of resources. The standardization of communications between heterogeneous systems created the Internet explosion. The emerging standardization for sharing resources, along with the availability of higher bandwidth, are driving a possibly equally large evolutionary step in grid computing. The following major topics will be introduced to the readers in this chapter: What grid computing can do Grid concepts and components Grid construction The present and the future What the grid cannot do Download pdf Introduction to Grid Commputing with Globus
  • Making FITS available on DotNet Applications
  • The Flexible Image Transport System (FITS) is a powerful and widely adopted means of exchanging Astronomical Data. There are also a great number of tools and libraries available on many platforms to facilitate working with FITS. We present the FitsLib 1, A library written to facilitate development of astronomical data analysis tools on the Microsoft.Net Platform. This has been developed as a wrapper over one of the very popular and time tested FITS libraries, CFITSIO. Fits.Net library merges the advantages of speed and ruggedness of CFITSIO with the language independence of the Microsoft.Net technology and a simple Document Object Model (DOM). We believe this library will be intuitive for .NET programmers. We present the design and usage patterns of the library in C-Sharp. We also discuss performance issues of the library. Finally we present a number of applications and web services, which are currently running on this library. We wished to use the CFITSIO package in developing image cutout services on the Microsoft’s .Net Platform in the C-Sharp language. This is a comprehensive library and we did not feel translation was viable, C-Sharp does allow use of managed C++. We set out to wrap a minimal set of routines in the managed C++ programming environment. This minimal set, however, grew larger as more functionality was required in C-Sharp. It became apparent that developing code with so many pointers and unmanaged data objects in C-Sharp would prove to be prohibitive, both for development and for maintenance. This led to the design of an
