Such servers are increasingly easy to set up and keep running. Additionally the LAMP plattform has proben to be a stable platform available at low costs.
Web servers running a LAMP package can perform very well out of the box. But there are many ways to improve performance both through server configuration and application changes. This document gives you a good starting point for where to start and what to look at. It will also equip you with tools and processes to monitor the server’s performance.
This document is for you, if you are in charge of a web server running Linux and you want to improve the performance without just throwing more hardware at the problem.
When running a server it’s very important to be able to quickly check the current health and compare it with the past. This allows you to detect current anomalies and to see the system development over time. That part is covered in Section 1.1 and Section 1.2. Benchmarking becomes important when tuning your system. You really want to be able to say if a change improves the system performance and by how much. So keep a box of benchmarking applications ready when applying changes intended to improve the system performance.
Download pdf Web Server Performance HOWTOConstraints & Dynamic Parenting in MayaDynamic Parenting refers to a situation where the inheritance of an object’s transform channels can be turned on and off, either by keyframes or other means, during the course of an animation. Commonly this is used to allow an animated character to pick up and put down objects. It is also very useful when controlling the binding and interaction of two molecular structures in a scientific animation. In Maya, the easiest way to achieve dynamic parenting is through the use of constraints.
This lesson will go through several variations of dynamic parenting situations as a means to inspire you to develop your own creative solutions to the problem. As always, there are a million ways to achieve something in Maya, and only 500,000 of those ways are a bad idea.
Point Constraint: One or more other objects control any or all of one object’s translation channels.
Orient Constraint: One or more other objects control any or all of one object’s rotation channels.
Parent Constraint: One or more other objects control any or all of one object’s translation and rotation (but not scale) channels.
Note that the Maintain Offset option will allow you to maintain the controlled object’s current position at the time these constraints are applied.
Other constraints include Geometry, Normal, Tangent, Pole Vector, Aim, and Scale.

Get PDFCisco Aironet Wireless LAN Client Adapters Installation and Configuration Guide for Mac OSWhen you use your client adapter with the Mac OS operating system, you can protect your data as it is transmitted through your wireless network by encrypting it through the use of Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption keys. With WEP encryption, the transmitting device encrypts each packet with a WEP key, and the receiving device uses that same key to decrypt each packet.
The WEP keys used to encrypt and decrypt transmitted data can be statically associated with your adapter or dynamically created as part of the LEAP authentication process. The information in the sections below can help you to decide which type of WEP keys you want to use. Dynamic WEP keys with LEAP offer a higher degree of security than static WEP keys.
WEP keys, whether static or dynamic, are either 40 or 128 bits in length. The 128-bit WEP keys contain more characters than the 40-bit keys and, therefore, offer a greater level of security. Message integrity check (MIC) is a security protection feature supported by your client adapter in conjunction with an access point (see the “MIC” section on page 5-4).
Each device (or profile) within your wireless network can be assigned up to four static WEP keys. If a device receives a packet that is not encrypted with the appropriate key (as the WEP keys must match in all devices that are to communicate with each other), the device discards the packet.
For the Mac OS X, the Static WEP keys are stored in an encrypted format (for securityHeatspreader Performance Numbers Corsair Labs Test ResultsThe maximum overclocking results are shown in the following table:. Heat Spreader Type. Maximum Overclock. Corsair XMS PRO cast aluminum heat spreader
Download PDFSocial Marketing Tactics and How To Use ThemWeb 2.0 is a general term applied to any website that reacts to the input and activity of its users, such as a blog, a MySpace profile, a forum, or a Squidoo lens. Social Networking is best defined as the regular interaction of people for some common cause. Of course there is really nothing new about social networking, and it’s something many of us do every day offline, especially in schools or in the workplace. But as a marketing trend this concept is growing more and more popular online. This is because unlike most high schools, colleges, or workplaces, the Internet is filled with millions of individuals who are looking to meet other Internet users and develop both business and personal relationships.
There are many portals for social networking on the web. Social networking websites are pretty much communities of Internet users that can range from small and tightly focused portals to enormous groups of people who all have different backgrounds and interests. So a Web 2.0 resource, or social networking site can exist on the basis of anything from hobbies, religion, education, business, or politics. And the idea behind getting involved in such a site is to meet new people who fit into one of two categories:
1. People who have something you need.
2. People who need something you have.
There’s a little more to it than this of course but the above two categories basically sum up the entire purpose of participating in social networking and Web 2.0 systems. Please refer to the document “FINAL Rules of the Competition” for details and rules about this project including the rules and procedures of the competition.
This tutorial, which also serves as a manual, provides instructions on how to use many of the tools, functions, and options available in ArcGIS and the Districting extension that will help the user create proposed plans for this project. However, because the tutorial was written in a relatively limited timeframe many functions and options of the software that may also be useful are not covered. Persons with more experience with GIS software in general and with ArcGIS in particular may be able to more easily learn and use these additional functions.
Please follow the tutorial carefully as missed steps or incorrect specifications or actions can cause errors and much frustration. Please expect that it will take several practices and some hours of work to become comfortably efficient with the software.
The software is the product of ESRI and may not always work as expected or desired. The authors of this document are only responsible for the tutorial and the two tools that were created to assist the competition – the Compactness Tool and the Fragmentation Tool.
