Python was created by Guido van Rossum in 1990 to solve problems in the development of the Amoeba operating system. It is named after the British television show Monty Python’s Flying Circus. The use of Python has grown steadily over 1990’s to its current state where it is used in a variety of applications and environments.

In this paper we present experiences with the .NET Framework and Visual Studio.NET which we won in two big projects. Thereby we give hints for the practical use in .NET projects.
We designed and implemented two systems:
• A database maintenance system for the internet risk assessor “MIRA” for the Munich Re. Up to 10 developers were included and the project had a size of 8 man years.
• The core application of the real estate investment company Real I.S. of the Bayerische Landesbank Group. The system was build by a team of up to 14 developers in 20 man years.

This paper briefly describes several common classes of coding error generally encountered when auditing web applications running on the Active Server Pages (ASP) platform. The paper is broken down into three broad sections, each of which addresses several common coding problems. The following is a list of the common errors that are discussed in this document, divided into three broad categories. The remainder of the document deals with each of these problems in turn. Any ASP code samples assume that the default language is VBScript, but all of the points apply equally to JavaScript. Equally, all occurrences of the SQL language assume that Microsoft SQL Server is being used as the back – end database.

This document presents my work as part of course COSC 4080 during fall 2002, under the supervision of Professor Jonathan Ostroff. The initial purpose of the project was to write a reusable component to store Eiffel objects in XML format, and also to investigate a new product from Eiffel Software, namely Eiffel Envision.

Eiffel Envision is a plug-in for Visual Studio.NET that facilitate the writing, debugging and testing of Eiffel code in Visual Studio.NET. Needless to say, the integration between Eiffel and the .NET Framework (hereinafter referred to as Eiffel.NET) is not just at the GUI level. Eiffel is now one of the few languages that are .NET compatible. This means that programmers can compile Eiffel code to run on the .NET Common Language Runtime (more on this issue in the next section).

The Contacts Data API allows client applications to view and update a user’s contacts. Contacts are stored in the user’s Google Account; most Google services have access to the contact list. Your client application can use the Contacts Data API to create new contacts, edit or delete existing contacts, and query for contacts that match particular criteria.

The ASP.NET team is delivering a framework for generating Web applications that can take advantage of the latest capabilities in client functionality that fall under the general banner of Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) and Rich Interactive Applications (RIA). The new Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX addition to the .NET Framework includes a suite of JavaScript libraries (the Client Framework or Client FX) that are the foundation for creating rich behaviors and control­like functionality in the browser. ASP.NET AJAX also includes a set of a server controls and base classes for extender controls (the Server Framework or Server FX) that provides AJAX programming functionality and experiences for ASP.NET Web developers.
