Welcome to the Python for XBMC Tutorial! This project began one day when I discovered XBMC (XBox Media Center) supports scripts written in Python. Darkie made the port, and I’d like to thank him for his great work and support! (I harassed him with questions and feature suggestions and he was always nice enough to reply to the questions and to add the features.) In this paper we present experiences with the .NET Framework and Visual Studio.NET which we won in two big projects. Thereby we give hints for the practical use in .NET projects.
We designed and implemented two systems:
• A database maintenance system for the internet risk assessor “MIRA” for the Munich Re. Up to 10 developers were included and the project had a size of 8 man years.
• The core application of the real estate investment company Real I.S. of the Bayerische Landesbank Group. The system was build by a team of up to 14 developers in 20 man years.

Setting Options, and customizing the Drawing toolbar.
Under Tools, Options (Alt-t o), set the following:
“View” tab: Print and Web Layout Options—check Drawings and Object Anchors
“General” tab: If you are using Office XP, UNcheck “Automatically create Drawing Canvas when inserting AutoShapes”
(The Drawing Canvas is a new feature in Word 2002, designed to make it easy to create a complex shape. I have yet to discover any value to it, and find it to be simply a nuisance.)
“Edit” tab: Check “Enable click and type”. This may be useful when you are working with a drawing, since it allows you to position text in relation to the drawing without hitting the Enter key repeatedly.
If you are using Word 2002, I recommend unchecking “Show Paste Option Buttons”. These buttons get in the way, and even sneak there way into my web documents!
