  • Creating a free form 3D structure in Maya
  • This Maya tutorial shows how to create a 3D envelop, skin and structural elements from hand drawn curves or data generated curves. The 3D shape is lofted and extruded from curves drawn in Photoshop or Illustrator. In Photoshop, go to Layers > create separate layers, draw shapes that will be later connected together Select the white area above the curve with the Magic Wand tool. Go to Paths > create a path. Go to File Export > Path to Illustrator, save as an Illustrator file. In Maya, go File > Import > File type > Illustrator or Best Guess Select curves two by two as object, GREEN selection, go to Surface > Edit Curve > Rebuild curves, check the settings in the window below Choose selection as objects (GREEN), select the curves two by two. Go to Surfaces > Loft, select Polygon in the options window Download pdf Creating a free form 3D structure in Maya
  • 1986-1992 Nissan Pickup Pathfinder 4X4 4” Suspension System Installation Instructions Kit
  • Before Starting Installation NOTE 9. Park vehicle on a clean, dry, flat, level surface and block tires so vehicle cannot roll in either direction. Kit parts are prefaced by the word kit and appear in bold print. 1. Carefully read all warnings and instructions completely before beginning. 2. Verify all parts have been received in this kit by checking the parts list at the end of this document. 3. This suspension system is designed to be used with wheels with a backspacing of 3-3/4” or less. Wheels with greater then 3-3/4” backspacing including some factory wheels will interfere with upper control arm and cause damage to OE parts and/or tires. Distance from hub mating surface of rim to the sidewall of tire can not exceed 4-1/2”. 4. Exhaust modification: a. Cross over pipe alteration is necessary to accommodate this suspension system on 6 cylinder models. b. Trail Master offers kit NX3O accessory to perform this modification. 5. This suspension system is not recommended on extended cab models with 2 piece driveshafts. 6. On 4 cylinder and some 6 cylinder models (with R180A front differential carrier) differential cover will contact lower control arm bracketry. On these vehicles, kit #8040 is required in addition to the suspension kit to reposition the front differential carrier. 7. Only install this kit on the vehicle for which it is specified. If anytime during the installation you encounter something different from what is outlined in the instructions, call technical support at (928) 636-3175. 8. Special tools

  • Common Web Application Attack Types and Security Using ASP.NET
  • The security of information systems is a wide area. Its development followed that of information systems, whose development in turn followed advances in hardware. As computers and software have developed real fast: "To put it quite bluntly: as long as there were no machines, programming was no problem at all; when we had a few weak computers, programming became a mild problem, and now we have gigantic computers, programming had become an equally gigantic problem." [1], so have developed the possibilities for security breaches. Security and protection are very important areas of computers science and IT industry. One way to describe this area is: "Security can be defined as set of methods and techniques which control data accessed by executing applications. Even wide definition includes a set of methods, techniques and legal standards which control data access by applications and humans, and protect the physical integrity of whole computer system, no matter if it is distributed or not, or if it is centralized or decentralized." According to the American Computer Security Institute (CSI)’s 2005 Computer Crime and Security Survey, which enclosed big corporations, 56% of the subjects reported the detection of unauthorized use of their computer systems in last year. Also, according to the same survey, more than 95% of responding organizations experienced more than 10 Web site incidents. [3]. Today IT security has many sub areas focusing on different aspects of security, from lower levels of ISO OSI model, all the way to the application layer. Since security in lower levels
  • Axpert The Process Server
  • How is it different from building an application using visual studio for dot net or any visual java development tool? The basic difference is the amount of programming that needs to be done is significantly reduced. Reasonably complex applications ERP, CRM, HMS, HCMS, etc can be built without writing programs in any programming language. However, fundamental database and SQL (select statements) Knowledge is necessary. Storing business processes as data will provide an additional advantage of having tools to bring out process dependencies and flow pictorially. This will increase control on the application and also make it responsive to changes. Coding may be needed only for bridging with other applications or devices. Hence, there will be considerable effort reduction in the overall ALM. How many process structures can there be in a system? There can be any number of process structures in a system. A process structure can also have relationship with many other process structures. Can the process server be deployed on a Linux or Unix server? The current version is available for deployment only under a MS Windows 2003. A Java based process server will be made available by end of March 2009 which can be deployed on any open servers. What kind of skill is required to create an application on a process server? Apart from domain knowledge a good knowledge on database and SQL statements is the basic skill required for building applications on a process server. The know-how on using Axpert stem is also needed. However, the Axpert Stem is a simple GUI driven intuitive
  • SQLrand: Preventing SQL Injection Attacks
  • We present a practical protection mechanism against SQL injection attacks. Such attacks target databases that are accessible through a web front-end, and take advantage of flaws in the input validation logic of Web components such as CGI scripts. We apply the concept of instruction-set randomization to SQL, creating instances of the language that are unpredictable to the attacker. Queries injected by the attacker will be caught and terminated by the database parser. We show how to use this technique with the MySQL database using an intermediary proxy that translates the random SQL to its standard language. Our mechanism imposes negligible performance overhead to query processing and can be easily retrofitted to existing systems. The intuition behind such attacks is that pre-defined logical expressions within a pre-defined query can be altered simply by injecting operations that always result in true or false statements. This injection typically occurs through a web form and associated CGI script that does not perform appropriate input validation. These types of injections are not limited strictly to character fields. Similar alterations to the “where” and “having” SQL clauses have been exposed, when the application does not restrict numeric data for numeric fields. Standard SQL error messages returned by a database can also assist the attacker. In situations where the attacker has no knowledge of the underlying SQL query or the contributing tables, forcing an exception may reveal more details about the table or its field names and types. This technique has been shown to be quite effective in practice. One
  • A comparison of Rasch Modeling, Parallel Analysis, and TETRAD
  • The evaluation of assessment dimensionality is a necessary stage in the gathering of evidence to support the validity of interpretations based on a total score, particularly when assessment development and analysis is conducted within an item response theory (IRT) framework. Unidimensionality refers to the existence of one underlying measurement construct (dimension) that accounts for variation in examinee responses. Violating this assumption could severely bias item and ability parameter estimation. In this study, we employ polytomous item responses to compare two methods that have received increased attention in recent years: Rasch model analysis (Rasch, 1960/1980) and Parallel analysis (Horn, 1965) with TETRAD (Glymour, 1982), a method for evaluating assessment structure that is less well-known in the educational measurement community, though confirmatory TETRAD analysis has been developed by Bollen and Ting (1993, 1998, 2000) for identifying causal indicators. Many methods of investigating unidimensionality are available. Two notable reviews of methods and indices of unidimensionality have been conducted within the last twenty-five years. Hattie’s (1985) review evaluated numerous standard approaches and showed that many lacked empirical support for the adequate assessment of unidimensionality. More recently, Tate (2003) conducted a review of methods and indices employed with dichotomous items, finding that options for assessing dimensionality had expanded and improved, and that most methods perform effectively “within the limits of their associated perspectives and assumptions.” While this study highlights the TETRAD method, compared to Rasch model and Parallel analyses, there are several established methods that are well-documented and widely used. Test of Essential Dimensionality (DIMTEST) (Stout, 1987,
