  • Integration of AJAX and Java Server Faces Paper
  • Everybody is now talking about Web 2.0, a Web that is more dynamic, richer, more interactive, and, ultimately – much more exciting than anything we know now. It’s just human nature to look for unusual and new stuff. But, what does that mean for business applications? Let’s look at Google Maps. Yes, we are all excited by Google Maps. It looks great. It is very interactive. And, most importantly, it behaves completely differently from what we expect to see in a “normal” browser. But, compared to any realistic business application – say something like trivial Internet banking – Google Maps is nothing. It supports just a few use cases compared to the hundreds or thousands of use cases for a typical business application. How many input fields does it have? How many validation rules? How complex is the business process and page flow? Anybody could build Google Maps using any kind of technology, but business application developers face completely different challenges, challenges that are much more demanding! What does Web 2.0 mean for the present world: Web 2.0 is a phrase that is coined by O'Reilly Media in 2004, referring to the second generation Internet-based services. Second generation Internet services has become more and interactive and exiting to the present users. With out which it would have been impossible to construct such a small world. An enterprise want to improve there sales by providing users much user friendly and interactive websites. Web 2.0 has been included with advanced technologies like AJAX, JSF, Visual Studio 2005,

  • Defeating Compiler-level Buffer Overflow Protection
  • BUFFER OVERFLOW ATTACK SARE THE most popular method intruders use to gain remote and privileged access to computer systems. Programs that fail to use appropriate bounds checking can allow an attacker to write data beyond the intended boundaries of a buffer and thus possibly corrupt control structures in the program. This enables an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the same privilege as the victim process. An attacker’s preference is usually to overwrite the saved instruction pointer that is pushed onto the stack before a function call or to overwrite a function pointer that will be used later in the program. It is also possible to use these attacks simply to overwrite other data. This kind of attack is harder to prevent but, fortunately, is less common than the previous type and is not discussed here. Buffer overflows first gained attention with the release of the famed Morris worm which exploited a buffer overflow in fingerd [1]. Despite the attack used in the Morris worm, buffer overflows did not become popular until the release of two papers that detailed the discovery and exploitation of these vulnerabilities [2,3]. This paper discusses vulnerabilities in two compiler-level protection mechanisms, StackGuard and Point-Guard. While this paper takes a critical look at both of these solutions, it does not intend to make them seem insignificant. The attacks described in this paper help to show how StackGuard and PointGuard should be complemented to construct a more complete protection system. • Mercedes-Benz ML 320 SE 420 SEL 500 SEL Operator’s Manual
  • The more cautiously you treat your vehicle during the break-in period, the more satisfied you will be with its performance later on. Therefore, drive your vehicle during the first 1500 km (1000 miles) at moderate vehicle and engine-speeds. During this period, avoid heavy loads (full throttle driving) and high RPM (no more than 2/3 of maximum permissible speed in each gear as indicated on the speedometer). Avoid accelerating by kickdown. It is not recommended to brake the vehicle by manually shifting to a lower gear. We recommend to select positions “3? or “2?only at moderate speeds (for hill driving). After 1000 miles (1500 km) speeds may be gradually increased to the permissible maximum Maintenance We strongly recommend that you have your vehicle serviced by your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, in accordance with the Maintenance Booklet. Failure to have the vehicle maintained in accordance with the Maintenance Booklet may result in vehicle damage not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty. Radio Transmitters Warning! Never operate radio transmitters equipped with a built-in or attached antenna (i.e. without the telephone connected to an external antenna) from inside the vehicle while the engine is running. Doing so could lead to a malfunction of the vehicle’s electronic system, possibly resulting in an accident and personal injury. Radio transmitters, such as a portable telephone or a citicens band unit should only be used inside the passenger compartment, if they are connected to a Mercedes-Benz approved antenna that is installed on the outside of the vehicle.
