  • SAP Help Reference: Transfer of Legacy Assets to the R/3 System Tutorial
  • The following settings have to be made in Customizing for Asset Accounting in preparation for the legacy data transfer (choose Asset Data Transfer): · Decide on the transfer date and the transfer options for each company code and/or depreciation area. · Specify the sequence in which the depreciation areas are to be supplied with values. It makes sense to arrange the depreciation areas so that those areas with values that are not, or only partially, calculated by the system, appear first on the screen in dialog transactions. · If you are using a year-dependent fiscal year version, you also have to carry out the following steps. For all historical fiscal years, from the capitalization year of your oldest asset minus 1, up to the current fiscal year, you have to · Maintain the calendar date assignments for the fiscal year variant (in Customizing for Financial Accounting). · Generate the depreciation period controls for Asset Accounting (in Customizing for Asset Accounting, choose Periodic processing). • Web2.0:The Tipping Point for XML
  • By now, you’ve seen the articles about XML, separation of content and presentation, programmatic enforcement of content organization, structured authoring, and all the rest. You’ve considered XML publishing, but implementation looks difficult and expensive, and your current workflow is in reasonable shape. So you’ve been waiting for a compelling reason to make the transition. That compelling reason has arrived in the form of online user-generated content, otherwise known as Web 2.0. User-generated content isn’t new—if we include scribbling notes in the margin of a book. But today, instead of creating annotations for personal use only, we can share information on the Internet with friends, family, or the world using blogs, wikis, forums, and other Web 2.0 applications. User-generated content is going to be hugely disruptive for technical communication. Your content strategy needs to include Web 2.0, and XML provides a platform to sup- port the seamless integration of “professional” content with “user” content. Why XML with Web 2.0? Most of our clients have cited utilitarian reasons for implementing XML—they expect cost savings in localization or from automated document production. Increased efficiency and reduced costs tend to make for compelling return on investment (ROI) justifications. Lately, though, we’re seeing a new trend—clients want XML because of the possibilities that structured content opens up. In particular, the integration of corporate content—information created by technical communicators—and user-generated content is becoming a priority. In an XML-based work-flow, content is stored without formatting. When information is published, formatting instructions are added on to the content to produce the final
  • Report Runner Batch Tutorial and Documentation
  • Report Runner Batch runs on Windows NT, 200x, ME, XP, and Vista. Supports all versions of Crystal Reports. This version includes all of the necessary runtime files. You should still have an Advanced/Developer edition of Crystal Reports 9, 10, or 11 to meet licensing requirements. The password for the installer is TRIAL. Registered Jeff-Net users may download and install this Batch version for free at any time. You will need to send us your seed key to receive your 90 day TRIAL license, but when you first run JNRRB, while you're waiting on the 90 day trial key, you may use the license of 'TRIAL3' to evaluate the software for a couple of days. NOTE: If you install on a Citrix or Terminal Server or Servers in general, you must use an ADMIN ID and use Add/Remove Programs to do the install. Otherwise it will not install properly. One additional note about Citrix and Terminal Server environments: We do not limit the amount of batches that you run. In a Citrix/Terminal Server environment, allowing multiple users to randomly schedule batches to run is NOT recommended. This can cause memory issues depending on the size/speed of your server. The Crystal Reports engine uses as much memory as it can get for a given task. We seriously recommend having a Batch ‘admin’ that will handle all the scheduling and running of batches. Part 1- In Maya, exporting a cube with textures Before exporting to Virtools, make sure that all faces inside the cube have their normals facing towards the inside of the cube. Go to Modeling, Display > Polygon Components > Normals Normals are represented with colored lines stickin out of the faces of the cube. The red arrow shows the way one normal should look like.
