It does not support the new Word 2007 .docx file format, which is not OLE2 based. HWPF is still in early development. It is in the scratchpad section of the SVN. You will need to ensure you either have a recent SVN checkout, or a recent SVN nightly build (including the scratchpad jar!)
Source in the org.apache.poi.hwpf.model tree is the old legacy code refactored into an object model. Source code in the org.apache.poi.hwpf.extractor tree is a wrapper of this to facilitate easy extraction of interesting things (eg the Text). Source code in the org.apache.poi.hdf tree is the old legacy code.
At the moment we unfortunately do not have someone taking care for HWPF and fostering its development. What we need is someone to stand up, take this thing under his hood as his baby and push it forward. Ryan Ackley, who put a lot of effort into HWPF, is no longer on board, so HWPF is an orphan child waiting to be adopted.
If you are interested in becoming the new HWPF pointman, you should look into the Microsoft Word internals. A good starting point seems to be Ryan Ackley's overview. This document contains a link to a detailled Word format description you can find somewhere at http://www.wotsit.org/. Please do not contact Ryan Ackley directly, because he is working for a company now that signed a NDA with Microsoft and thus he will be no longerPostfix Cyrus Web cyradm HOWTOThis document guides you through the installation of the Postfix mail transportation agent (MTA), the Cyrus IMAP server. The goal is a fully functional high-performance mailsystem with user-administration with Web-cyradm, a webinterface. Data like virtualusers, aliases etc. are stored in a mysql database.
Cyrus IMAP
The Cyrus IMAP is developed and maintained by Carnegie Mellon University. Unlike the WU-IMAPd Cyrus is using its own method to store the users mail. The data is stored in a database, this makes Cyrus so performant. Especially with lots of users and/or lot of big emails, there is nothing such fast as the Cyrus IMAP-server. Another very important feature is, you don’t need a local Un*x user for each account. All users are authenticated by the IMAP-Server. This makes it a great solution for really huge base of users.
User administration is done by special IMAP-commands. This allows you to eighter use the commandline interface, or use one of the available Webinterfaces. This Method is much more secure than a Webinterface to /etc/passwd! Since CMU changed the license policy for Cyrus, this software is going to be used by much more users
Web-cyradm is the Webinterface that allows you to perform the administrative tasks to your mailsystem This Screenshot shows the domain-administration part of Web-cyradm.
Web-cyradm is written in PHP, which is often installed on webservers. Time to set up Web-cyradm takes just a few minutes. At the time being, Web-cyradm does not support different roles for its users. So you cannot use it as a frontend for yourZend Core for i5/OS V2.6 User GuideZend Core™ supports businesses using PHP and managing database information for mission critical web applications. SASL is used by network servers (e.g., IMAP, SMTP) to request authentica- tion from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers. GNU SASL consists of a library (‘libgsasl’), a command line utility (‘gsasl’) to access the library from the shell, and a manual. The library includes support for the framework (with authentication functions and application data privacy and integrity functions) and at least partial support for the CRAM-MD5, EXTERNAL, GSSAPI, ANONYMOUS, PLAIN, SECURID, DIGEST-MD5, LOGIN, and NTLM mechanisms.
The library is easily ported because it does not do network communication by itself, but rather leaves it up to the calling application. The library is flexible with regards to the authorization infrastructure used, as it utilize a callback into the application to decide whether a user is authorized or not. GNU SASL is developed for the GNU/Linux system, but runs on over 20 platforms including most major Unix platforms and Windows, and many kind of devices including iPAQ handhelds and S/390 mainframes. GNU SASL is written in pure ANSI C89 to be portable to embedded and otherwise limited platforms. The entire library, with full support for ANONYMOUS, EXTERNAL, PLAIN, LOGIN and CRAM-MD5, and the front-end that support client and server mode, and the IMAP and SMTP protocols, fits in under 60kb on an Intel x86 platform, without any modifications to the code. Integration of Hybrid Fibre Radio and IEEE 802.11 WLAN network Kenneth K L. Ho and J. E. Mitchell Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Univeity College London Abstract: By using hybrid fibre radio (HFR), a method in integrating wireless and optical networks, large part of the radio complexity can be traferred to a central office deeper in the network. This paper presents a novel approach in deploying IEEE 802.11 wireless local access network (WLAN) through integration with HFR. We will discuss its applicatio, a brief review of the individual technologies, and investigate the networking issues involve to make such integration feasible. 1. Introduction The advantages of using analogue optical networks for delivering radio signals from a central location to many remote antenna sites have long been an area of researched [1].
