  • Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Network Installation and Administration Guide
  • A Kurzweil 3000 Network is a system that provides all of the features and benefits of the single-user Kurzweil 3000 product, but with the following added advantages: • The Kurzweil 3000 Engine stores each student’s Kurzweil 3000 settings and preferences. This allows students to access their customized settings from any Kurzweil 3000 client computer connected to the Kurzweil 3000 Network. • System administrators can manage large, and changing, numbers of Kurzweil 3000 users and Kurzweil 3000 licenses from a central location using the Kurzweil 3000 Administrator. • The Kurzweil 3000 client software may be installed on as many computers on your network as you want, regardless of the number of licenses you have purchased. As long as there is an available license on the Kurzweil 3000 Engine, it is available to any client on the network. • Teachers can track each student’s progress and daily interaction with Kurzweil 3000 via the Eventlog file The Kurzweil 3000 Network is a software application that consists of one or more computers running client software, and at least one computer running the Network Engine software. While logged on to the Kurzweil 3000 Network, users can work with Kurzweil 3000 using their preferred Kurzweil 3000 settings, which are saved on the Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine. The physical layout of a Kurzweil 3000 Network consists of the following: • Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine computer. A computer on which the Kurzweil 3000 network engine software has been installed. • Jade Tutorial Application - Defined Content Languages and Ontologies
  • When an agent A communicates with another agent B, a certain amount of information I is transferred from A to B by means of an ACL message. Inside the ACL message, I is represented as a content expression consistent with a proper content language (e.g. SL) and encoded in a proper format (e.g. string). Both A and B have their own (possibly different) way of internally representing I. Taking into account that the way an agent internally represents a piece information must allow an easy handling of that piece of information, it is quite clear that the representation used in an ACL content expression is not suitable for the inside of an agent. For example the information that there is a person whose name is Giovanni and who is 33 years old in an ACL content expression could be represented as the string (Person :name Giovanni :age 33) Storing this information inside an agent simply as a string variable is not suitable to handle the information as e.g. getting the age of Giovanni would require each time to parse the string. Considering software agents written in Java (as JADE agents are), information can conveniently be represented inside an agent as Java objects. For example representing the above information about Giovanni as an instance (a Java object) of an application-specific class Download Jade Tutorial Application - Defined Content Languages and Ontologies

  • PixelView Tutorial: A View-Independent Graphics Rendering Architecture
  • Viewpoint specification is fundamental to traditional computer graphics rendering. Both the transformation of a scene to eye space in the traditional graphics pipeline and the origination of viewing rays in a ray-casting system depend on the viewpoint. Moreover, many subsequent rendering steps are also impacted by the choice of viewpoint, including clipping, projection, illumination calculations, shading, and visibility determination. As a result, changing the viewpoint frequently gates the entire process of interactive rendering, as each rendered frame is initiated with the specification of a viewpoint, followed by the scene description, and culminating with the final displayed image. There are many potential advantages to decoupling viewpoint specification from rendering. First, immediate efficiency improvements are available if rendering costs are amortized over multiple views. They result from reuse of shading calculations as well as exploiting the coherency of surface reflection with smooth variations in viewpoint. A second advantage results from beginning the rendering process before the viewing position is resolved, thereby reducing latency. • 2004 Nissan Towing Guide
  • The first thing to keep in mind when renting a trailer is to rent only from professional companies that specialize in towing and towing equipment. More than likely, these representatives will have some experience in selecting and fitting the towing equipment that is appropriate for your Nissan vehicle. When renting, make sure you have your owner’s manual on hand so that you can check the towing capacities for your specific vehicle. Never rent a trailer that exceeds these capacities, and make sure that any other equipment you rent is sufficient for your loaded trailer. While you’re there, ask questions: How much does the trailer weigh? What is the trailer tongue load? How much weight will the trailer hold? What type of brakes is it equipped with? All of these items have an effect on whether your Nissan vehicle is capable of safely pulling that trailer or piece of equipment. Make certain that all trailer stoplights, taillights, and turn signals are hooked up and operate correctly, and that all safety equipment is properly installed. Check the safety chains/cables, tie-downs, etc. Carefully inspect the condition of the trailer and equipment: Are the tires worn excessively? Are the tire pressures correct? Are there broken welds, missing bolts or pieces? All these factors can also affect your safety. Towing safety should be a high priority when choosing and renting equipment, and this is especially true concerning hitches. Never rent a clamp-on-type hitch. Since Nissan bumpers not specifically marked for towing are not designed for trailer loads, using this type
  • JADE PROGRAMMER’S GUIDE
  • This programmer’s guide is complemented by the administrator’s guide and the HTML documentation available in the directory jade/doc. If and where conflict arises between what is reported in the HTML documentation and this guide, preference should be given to the HTML documentation that is updated more frequently. JADE (Java Agent Development Framework) is a software development framework aimed at developing multi-agent systems and applications conforming to FIPA standards for intelligent agents. It includes two main products: a FIPA-compliant agent platform and a package to develop Java agents. JADE has been fully coded in Java and an agent programmer, in order to exploit the framework, should code his/her agents in Java, following the implementation guidelines described in this programmer’s guide. This guide supposes the reader to be familiar with the FIPA standards1, at least with the Agent Management specifications (FIPA no. 23), the Agent Communication Language, and the ACL Message Structure (FIPA no. 61). JADE is written in Java language and is made of various Java packages, giving application programmers both ready-made pieces of functionality and abstract interfaces for custom, application dependent tasks. Java was the programming language of choice because of its many attractive features, particularly geared towards object-oriented programming in distributed heterogeneous environments; some of these features are Object Serialization, Reflection API and Remote Method Invocation (RMI).
