It includes a robust set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that allows an application to access speech resources. It contains several utilities that enable developers to define and manage what the user can say within an application. There are also several sample programs that can help programmers as they develop their applications for speech. Finally, there are distributable runtime elements that are included with an application that uses IBM ViaVoice.
IBM SMAPI supports only speech recognition functions. The SMAPI interface set is the native interface for the ViaVoice engine. This section contains a description of the overall architecture of ViaVoice.
The heart of a speech recognition system is known as the speech recognition engine. The speech recognition engine recognizes speech input and translates it into text that an application understands. The application decides what to do with the recognized text. It can transcribe it literally for dictation, or it can act on it for commands.
Applications can access the speech recognition engine through a speech recognition API. For ViaVoice, this API is known as the Speech Manager API, or SMAPI, for short. SMAPI is a conventional API. This means that the API is defined as part of the resource; in this case, SMAPI is defined as part of the speech engine. With an API, speech becomes a resource to all applications, just like any system resource (mouse, video, and so on). AnyMaya 104: DynamicsDuring this tutorial we’ll explore a number of features of Maya’s dynamics toolset.
In part I - the ‘membrane pore tutorial’ - we’ll create a scene with a turbulent membrane that also has a ‘pore’ dynamically floating in it. Next we’ll create a swarm of molecules that collide with the membrane (and can otherwise only traverse it via the pore opening). We’ll gain finer control over the behavior of individual molecules in the swarm through the use of expressions. Finally, we’ll add goals to the entire swarm and control the degree to which these goals affect the swarm’s movement.
In part II – the ‘blastocyst tutorial’ - we’ll look at how a piece of geometry can serve as a goal for particles. Specifically, we’ll create a blastocyst-stage embryo made up of blobby particles attracted to a sphere. We’ll control the behavior of these particles relative to the surface of the sphere. For the finale, we’ll squeeze the blastocyst out of the zona pellucida surrounding it by using a lattice deformer applied to the sphere.

Download PDFSilkPerformer DotNet Framework 2006 Release 2 Developer GuideThis introduction serves as a high-level overview of the different test approaches and tools, including Java Explorer, Java Framework, .NET Explorer, and .NET Framework that are offered by SilkPerformer SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Edition
SilkPerformer .NET Explorer, which was developed using .NET, allows you to test Web Services, .NET Remoting objects, and other GUI-less .NET objects. .NET Explorer allows you to define and execute complete test scenarios with different test cases without requiring manual programming—everything is done visually via point and click operations. Test scripts are visual and easy to understand—even for staff members who aren't familiar with .NET programming languages.
Test scenarios created with SilkPerformer .NET Explorer can be exported to SilkPerformer Workbench for immediate reuse in concurrency and load testing; and to Microsoft Visual Studio .NET for further customization.
To launch SilkPerformer .NET Explorer:
If you have SilkPerformer SOA Edition, go to: Start/Programs/Borland/SilkPerformer SOA Edition 2006 R2/SilkPerformer .NET Explorer. If you have SilkPerformer Enterprise Edition, go to: Start/Programs/Borland/SilkPerformer 2006 R2/Development Tools/SilkPerformer .NET Explorer.
Alternately you can launch SilkPerformer Workbench:
If you have SilkPerformer SOA Edition, go to: Start/Programs/Borland/SilkPerformer SOA Edition 2006 R2/SilkPerformer SOA Workbench. If you have SilkPerformer Enterprise Edition, go to: Start/Programs/Borland/ SilkPerformer 2006 R2/SilkPerformer Workbench. Get PDFThe Bugzilla Guide ? 2.16.3 ReleaseBugzilla is a bug? or issue?tracking system. Bug?tracking systems allow individual or groups of developers effectively to keep track of outstanding problems with their product. Bugzilla was originally written by Terry Weissman in a programming language called TCL, to replace a rudimentary bug?tracking database used internally by Netscape Communications. Terry later ported Bugzilla to Perl from TCL, and in Perl it remains to this day. Most commercial defect?tracking software vendors at the time charged enormous licensing fees, and Bugzilla quickly became a favorite of the open?source crowd (with its genesis in the open?source browser project, Mozilla). It is now the de?facto standard defect?tracking system against which all others are measured.
Bugzilla boasts many advanced features. These include:
• Powerful searching
• User?configurable email notifications of bug changes
• Full change history
• Inter?bug dependency tracking and graphing
• Excellent attachment management
• Integrated, product?based, granular security schema
• Fully security?audited, and runs under Perl's taint mode
• A robust, stable RDBMS back?end
• Web, XML, email and console interfaces
• Completely customisable and/or localisable web user interface
• Extensive configurability
• Smooth upgrade pathway between versions
Why Should We Use Bugzilla?
For many years, defect?tracking software has remained principally the domain of large software development houses. Even then, most shops never bothered with bug?tracking software, and instead simply relied on shared lists and email to monitor the status of defects. This procedure is error?prone and tends to cause those bugs judged least significant by developers to be dropped or ignored.
These days, many companies are finding that integrated defect?tracking systems reduce downtime, increase productivity, and raiseIBM ThinkPad 560 User Guide PdfThe thin and light IBM ThinkPad 560 computer is designed to be convenient for your mobile computing needs. Download IBM ThinkPad 560 User Guide PdfThe Macintosh Users Guide to Making and Burning CD- ROM Discs of EmulatorsThis document is intended for Mac users that want to make discs of homebrew games and emulators working on their Dreamcast system. Currently, there is a rather easy way to do this, but I see the same questions over and over again with methods that in my opinion are somewhat dated (though still useful if there is no other option). The world of DC emulation and homebrews can be confusing to the new user even if you are on a PC.
Since there is a flood of PC based tutorials, I will not be covering how to do make DC homebrew discs on a PC at this time, though I will in a future revision cover a couple of programs that will be of use to Mac users that will easily run under something like VirtualPC and do not have Mac equivalents.
Also, I will make few things clear from the beginning. By emulators, I mean programs that are specifically designed to run on the Dreamcast to emulate another computer or game system. There is currently no Dreamcast emulator for the Mac, and there probably won't be in the near future. Also, this guide will not tell you how to make bootable copies of commercial Dreamcast discs. If that is what you are looking for, go someplace else. Any messages or emails on this subject will be deleted. Finally, while I will cover this in the faq section, do not ask me where you can find roms for the emulators. Those messages
