Beginners Guide MayaIn this beginners guide we discuss how to build a simple humanoid character and how to animate it. It was not our intention to give a step-by-step guide on how to build a character and how to animate it, because there is extensive amount of literature available on this. This guide can be used next to the “Learning Maya 5 Foundation” book as a source for more information and explanation. We found that although the book is very clear on what actions to do and what the actions will result in, it lacked somewhat in explaining the meaning of concepts and the reasons for performing actions.
In this guide, we first give an explanation of the Maya interface and the main interface elements that are important for character building and animation.
We then follow the “Learning Maya 5 Foundation” subjects on building and animating a humanoid character. First building the basic character by creating a skeleton, adding geometries, flexors and selection handles. Then preparing the character for animation, by adding controls for movements with expressions, rotate planes and vector constraints. Then animating the character by creating character nodes, keyframes, linear animation, non-linear animation and non-destructive keys (secondary animation) and the Maya Embedded Language (MEL). In the last part we discuss shortly the use of cameras, lighting, texturizing, rendering.

I will be showing you how to use the current navmesh area to set up your own custom playing areas and objects. This tutorial will focus on using the stock battlefield 2 map, "Songhua Stalemate." I'm currently navmeshing this map, so thought I would kill two birds with one stone :)
We are going to make a complete backup of your BF2 directory. Go to mods/bf2 and copy and paste it. When that's finished you should have 'Copy of bf2' there. This is going to be your untouched multiplayer and backup version if you completely screw up your files playing around in the editor. Don't umm and ahh...trust me - DO IT. The reason I'm not getting you to setup your own mod directory is that there are a few complications in getting a custom mod working perfectly in the editor, whereas the bf2 mod folder is 100% supported. I chose this path to make it as simple as possible to work for the 'layman.' If you ever want to play online just rename the bf2 folder we are modding to something like - "bf2_modding" and rename the 'Copy of bf2' back to its original 'bf2' name. Easy.

These suite-wide compatibility enhancements make WordPerfect Office the world’s leading alternative to Microsoft® Office. You can easily open, import, export, and save Microsoft® Word, Microsoft® Excel, and Microsoft® PowerPoint® files, reducing or eliminating many of the difficulties that can arise when switching applications.
With the new Workspace Manager, WordPerfect Office 12 makes it easier than ever for users to switch from Microsoft Office. With two easy clicks, the Workspace Manager lets you simulate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint workspaces in WordPerfect®, Quattro Pro®, and Presentations™ respectively. While there are many similarities between these applications, you may find this helpful for getting accustomed to working with WordPerfect Office. Simulating a Microsoft Office workspace positions the WordPerfect Office features, including toolbars and menu items, where you would find the equivalent feature in Microsoft Office. It also applies Microsoft Office keyboard shortcuts to WordPerfect Office features, allowing you to quickly find the tools you need.
WordPerfect Office 12 also introduces the Compatibility toolbar, a feature that eases the transition from other office productivity applications. Available in WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, and Presentations, the Compatibility toolbars let you save to popular document publishing formats, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, and XML with one easy click. In addition, the Compatibility toolbars give you immediate access to online Help for migrating from Microsoft Office.

Preset brushes such as plants, hair, fire, feathers, and others can be used to get amazing effects quickly. This tutorial explains how to create a Maya logo out of growing grass. The focus is on setting and animating the Paint Effects brush and strokes.
The following topics are discussed:
- Brushes vs. Strokes
- Assigning brushes to a stroke
- Changing brush parameters
- Loading brush settings into the template brush
- Making multiple strokes share a single brush
- Animating the growth of the grass along the strokes

Each monitor uses an onboard microprocessor to independently detect and count activity events, and at periodic intervals to upload the activity totals to the host computer.
The monitors are connected to the Power Supply Interface Unit by a network of conventional 4-wire telephone cables which supply operating power and lines for data transmission. Monitors may be plugged and unplugged from the network at will without disturbing the activity of other monitors.
Data Collection
At periodic intervals, ranging from 1 second to 60 minutes, the DAMSystem program in the host computer transmits a command to all monitors to simultaneously 'freeze' their current count totals. The monitors set aside these 'frozen' counts, reset the totals to zero, and begin counting again for the next measurement period.
Meanwhile, the host begins a sequence of requests from each monitor in turn (by address number) to transmit its 'frozen' counts to the computer for storage and later output. This data collection or 'reading' sequence requires about 2/3 second per monitor, placing a lower limit on the reading interval if multiple monitors are used.
Data Storage
The DAMSystem3 program stores the retrieved monitor data in a folder on the hard drive which is automatically created: DAMSystem3Data. Individual text files for each monitor accumulate successive readings for as long as the program operates, and these files may grow without limit to theMobile Messaging Gateway HTTP API Connectivity Guide Version 2.0The APIs defined in this document are for the external application to make use of services provided by the COMMZGATE Messaging Gateway Service. To make use of the service, you require an account from COMMZGATE as well as the IP address of the gateway on the Internet. Please contact your account manager if you do not have the above. HTTP Methods:
The POST method may be used for the APIs unless explicitly stated otherwise.
There are two categories of APIs:
1. MT (Mobile Terminate) APIs involve sending messages from the MMG to Mobile Device. The APIs are:
1) Send Message
2) Check Balance (Tokens are deducted upon each successful MT request)
2. MO (Mobile Originate) APIs involve receiving messages from the Mobile Device to MMG.
There is currently only one API:
1) Receive Message
For MT and Application APIs, http POST is initiated by the External Application and directed to the MMG.
For MO APIs, http POST is initiated by the MMG and directed to the External Application.
This document defines the APIs, their parameters, and return values. Note that parameter names are case sensitive. Also, none of the parameter values that are passed in should contain the pipe “|” character. The standard HTTP encoding rules must be used when passing text as parameters.

If electrical power is lost, servers can fail without warning and software corruption can occur even with journaled file systems. UPS devices protect from voltage spikes, surges, overvoltage, undervoltage and other nastiness. They protect the most expensive and critical elements of IT infrastructure. A UPS also gives critical systems enough time to gracefully shut down and switch off before the UPS batteries are exhausted. If possible an email message can be sent to the outside world before everything goes dark.
Systems can also be configured and scripted to return automatically once power has restored and a minimum battery capacity has been reached. Unfortunately, even where a UPS has been purchased, the majority of installations I have come across have little or no configuration in place. It is not just a case of buying a UPS off the shelf and plugging it in. Armed with a little more information and a bit of extra time, a UPS can be used to offer much better protection from power failure events. This document is intended to assist with specifying and deploying UPS for Apple server installations. Implementation Process ” Identify devices requiring UPS protection; ” calculate power draw; ” estimate run time requirements; ” specify required UPS battery capacity; ” select manufacturer and model; ” install on site with appropriate electrical wiring; ” configure UPS communications and software for graceful shutdown and restart sequences; ” scheduled testing;
