  • Test Workbench in the SAP System (BC-CAT-PLN) Tutorial
  • Use Intensive test phases, with function and acceptance tests in all phases, are essential to the success of an R/3 project. This starts with the first implementation of an SAP System and continues through all modifications of the system to customer requirements by customizing, modification and customer developments. SAP provides the Test Workbench to support customers in this area. From the test planning stage onwards, the Test Organizer in the Test Workbench provides a tool to create a structure of the applications to be tested. Individual test cases can be created when planning is complete. Use the Computer Aided Test Tool [Ext.] (CATT) in the Test Workbench. Test cases can be descriptions for manual tests, or test case scripts which are to be performed automatically. The test cases created can be put in the outline structure created during planning, in the Test Organizer. This provides a constant overview of the progress of test case creation. • How to Write Crap Code in C# - Anti-Patterns for Performance
  • This talk is all about writing performant code, not the other kinds of monstrosities that you might regard as crap code. We’ll leave obfustucated code to the Perl programmers, C# isn’t very good at it. Managed languages such as C# are often criticised for being slower than their counterparts such as C++. Often these claims are unfounded. I’ve worked on several projects where performance has been a problem and often people don’t understand why their code is running slowly. Typically they’ll blame the .NET runtime as the problem’s obvious there rather than in their own code. So what sort of performance pitfalls await the unwary? Inspired by the concept of proof by contradiction I decided to take a program and ignore Microsoft best-practises to see "How Slow It Could Go." I’ve written a simple application to analyse the complete works of Shakespeare that will allow me to demonstrate various techniques. The analysers have been written as plug-in modules so can I select one, click Analyse and it returns statistics for the text. All the analysers implement the same functionality, some more quickly than others. The operation is very simple. Each Shakespeare play is a separate textfile, the program scans all the text files in a folder. Splits the text into lines, removes any punctation and converts everything to lowercase. Each word is taken in turn and looked up in a master dictionary. If we have already encountered the word we increment the count of the number of times it has occurred, if

For safety, stepping on the brake before starting has always been highly recommended in all types of vehicles anyway. But in Prius, it is required. Because if you don’t, you’ll find that only the accessories will power-up. The hybrid system itself won’t start until you push the power button while also stepping on the brake at the same time. If you do make the mistake of not pressing the brake pedal far enough to the floor, a collection of warning the lights by the speedometer will come on. In that case, lift your foot off the brake. Wait a few seconds, and then press it again… only harder this time. Wait a few more

  • JAVALAB – A Java Tutorial and Programming Laboratory System Paper
  • Distance learning has become the most popular way of lifelong learning, and it is widely applied not only to school’s courses but also to enterprise’s training projects. The performance objectives of learning a programming language include the following: let the learner familiar with the programming language and training for the abilities to correct syntax errors in source code; developing the skills to fix the bugs in a program by debugging tools; and improve the logic analysis and reasoning ability of problems solving. However, most of he programming skills are cultivated heavily rely on experiment practices, so learning by practicing, learning by debugging, and learning by samples are the most popular learning strategies for learning a programming course. Learners will incrementally develop their programming skills by repeatedly practicing the programming cycle of writing a program, compiling the program, debugging the program, and testing the program. In this paper, we propose a JAVALAB system which provides three types of learning activity, simulation, quiz-and-feedback, and on-line programming, to meet the needs of programming course. JAVALAB uses XML web service as a glue to integrate Java hands-on practices with distance learning. JAVALAB can support the scenery of learning by practicing, learning by debugging, and learning by samples. In JAVALAB, a learner can do hands-on practices as well as learning activities in asynchronous distance education system. JAVALAB allow a learner to write, compile, debug, and test his Java applet on the Web. The learner is encouraged to write his code snippet according to the programming guide,
