  • Barracuda 7200.10 Serial ATA Installation Guide
  • Serial ATA interface disc drives are designed for easy installation. It is normally not necessary to set any jumpers, terminators, or other settings on this drive for proper operation. With a Serial ATA (SATA) interface, each disc drive has its own cable that connects directly to a Serial ATA host adapter or a Serial ATA port on your motherboard. Unlike Parallel ATA, there is no master-slave relationship between drives that use a Serial ATA interface. You can use a Serial ATA drive in the same system with Parallel ATA drives as long as both interfaces are supported on the motherboard or with a host adapter. This makes it easy to add Serial ATA capability to your existing system without removing existing Parallel ATA disc drives. What you need • A Phillips screwdriver and four 6-32 UNC drive mounting screws. • A SATA interface cable (sold separately). Maximum length is 39 inches (1 meter). • A SATA-compatible power cable or adapter (sold separately). • A system with a SATA connector on it, or a SATA host adapter and available PCI slot in which to install the adapter. Refer to your computer system documentation to see if your system supports SATA on the motherboard and locate the SATA connector. If your system does not have a SATA connector on the motherboard, you must purchase a SATA host adapter that is compatible with your computer and operating system and install it with the appropriate device driver according to the host adapter manufacturer’s installation instructions. • UML for C# pdf
  • C# is a modern object-oriented language for application development. In addition to object-oriented constructs, C# supports component-oriented programming with properties, methods and events. UML defines graphical notations for describing and designing object-oriented software systems. It’s an open standard controlled by the Object Management Group (OMG). Although UML has many diagram types, we’ll focus on class models that show static class structure and relationships. WinA&D is a complete UML modeling tool enriched with C# language specific details used to generate source code. WinTranslator is a reverse engineering tool that scans code to extract design information into WinA&D models. Diagrams created in WinA&D are used to illustrated C# programs represented in the UML notation. This paper assumes a working knowledge of C# and UML. It briefly describes how C# constructs are represented by UML for forward and reverse engineering. Get pdf UML for C#

  • Installing PHP under Windows
  • Not a Linux fan? Looking for a hassle?free way of setting up a PHP environment on your Windows box? Read as Matthew guides us through the process of installing Apache, MySQL and PHP on a Windows based machine, otherwise known as WAMP. This article is geared towards people who want to code and test their own, or other people's, php scripts on their Windows box. No advanced technical knowledge is assumed. This tutorial is unsuitable for advanced users. Why Apache and MySQL? Because they are available for free, quite easy to use and reliable. Why windows? Because there are many installation guides written for the Linux user, but Windows generally gets overlooked. And getting it all to work can be a real daunting task. What is Apache? Apache is our web server of choice; it’s free, reliable and well supported. In fact, as of October 2003 apache web servers had a market of over 67%, compared to their nearest rival Microsoft’s ISS having under 25% (http://news.netcraft.com/) So its not just a few people who think Apache is a good thing! A web server basically serves web pages from the server to the client browser. For every page you see when connecting to the internet, somewhere there is a network server sending it to you. The pages are usually sent in html format, along with images and other media. What is MySQL? [From MySQL.com] ‘MySQL is the world's most popular open source database, recognized for its speed and reliability.’ A Database is a place for you

  • Feed Injection in Web 2.0
  • One new feature of "Web 2.0", the movement to build a more responsive Web, is the utilization of XML content feeds which use the RSS and Atom standards. These feeds allow both users and Web sites to obtain content headlines and body text without needing to visit the site in question, basically providing users with a summary of that sites content. Unfortunately, many of the applications that receive this data do not consider the security implications of using content from third parties and unknowingly make themselves and their attached systems susceptible to various forms of attack. This white paper discusses various forms of attacks based on Web feeds that follow the RSS, Atom and XML standards. This paper does not extensively cover each XML element and its usage within Web-based feeds, nor does it address other vulnerability scenarios such as buffer overflows and other XML- specific risks. The goal of this paper is to outline the risks of lesser-known threats which are currently emerging on the Web utilizing Cross-Site Scripting Web Feeds as Attack Vectors Browsers, local readers, Web sites and online portals such as Bloglines all subscribe to feeds. These applications automatically fetch new content at intervals defined either on the receiving client or by the feed itself. Once a user is subscribed, they are alerted to new entries where they can read the story title and usually a brief description of the story body. The RSS Specification states that story bodies (the tag) allow HTML entities in order to allow
