Exporting a Simple Animated Scene from Maya to Virtools TutorialThis tutorial explains how to export a Maya scene including animated objects with simple keyframes. It uses the Virtools plug-in directly loaded in Maya. The Scene in Maya Load the “mountains.ma” scene in the tutorial’s “scenes” file into Maya. To do so, place “mountains.ma” directly in your Maya “/scenes” directory. Then place the 4 textures in “/sourceimages”. Here is what you should see: Activate Display/Polygon Counts to see the number of faces in the scene, i.e., 474 (quads or triangles). Note a certain number of specific characteristics before exporting this scene. - the vertex lighting & the triangulation.
In the Custom Polygon Display Options, set Color to Color in Shaded Display and the Color Material Channel to Ambient+Diffuse. Then click Apply. You will see in smooth shaded or smooth shaded & textured mode that the main scene is in vertex lighting. These values will be exported in Virtools.

Color Correction
Photoshop allows you to easily correct problems in color quality and tonal range created during the original photography or during the image’s scan. You can also correct problems in composition and sharpen the overall focus of the image. Retouching techniques vary greatly depending on how the image will be used. There is also much to be understood about image resolution. For more information about image resolution you should refer to the Photoshop manual or attend the Academic Computing Services workshop Graphics Formats and Scanning.
Color correction tools
All Adobe Photoshop color correction tools work basically the same way: by mapping existing ranges of pixel values to new ranges of pixel values. The difference between the tools is the amount of control you have.
For example, the Brightness/Contrast command (found in the Image>Adjust menu) makes the same adjustment to every pixel in the selection or image. Therefore, if you increase the brightness value by 30, 30 is added to the brightness value of every pixel. For more specific control of that, however, Photoshop provides the Levels menu that allows precise adjustment using the variables of highlights, shadows, and midtones. The Curves menu replaces high-end color correction systems and lets you isolate 16 ranges of pixel values between pure highlight and pure shadow.

The .NET Framework contains a virtual machine called Common Intermediate Language (CIL). Simply put, programs are compiled to produce CIL and the CIL is distributed to user to run on a virtual machine. VB.NET, C++, C# compilers are available from Microsoft for creating CIL. In DB-VA you can generate C# persistent source code and DLL files, so you can reference the DLL file and Persistent Library in Visual Studio .NET 2003 and develop the VB.NET application.
In the following section, you will develop a VB.NET application. The application is exactly the same as the one in Chapter 4 – Developing Standalone .NET Application sample but this time you use VB.NET instead of C# for development. You need to download Chapter 4 sample application because it contains the DLL file and persistent libraries for your VB.NET project.

Coma and astigmatism of NICMOS cameras have been derived using phase retrieval analysis of the data from the NICMOS focus monitoring program. Analysis of these aberrations has revealed that y-coma in all three camera experienced a systematic change over the NICMOS lifetime in Cycles 7 and 7a. A similar variation has been found for x-astigmatism in camera 2. In camera 3, the x-astigmatism increased dramatically after the FOM had been given a y-tilt of 16 arcsec. X-coma and y-astigmatism in all cameras did not show substantial systematic variations over the same period of time. The results of this study should help to understand the origin of the NICMOS optics instability. They should also facilitate interpretation of possible changes in NICMOS cameras when they are back to operations after installation of the cryocooler in Cycle 10.
1. Introduction
NICMOS optical characteristics experienced noticeable variations since the start of the instrument orbital life in early 1997. These include not only the changing focus position
Download Health ManualBoKS Access Control for Desktops and Microsoft Active DirectoryWith Active Directory, Microsoft has provided administrators with a powerful directory service to organize network data and to control access to network resources from a central point. However, "powerful" by necessity also means complex, and the complexity of Active Directory has probably contributed to slowing down the rollout of Windows 2000 and 2003 servers. Initially, many organizations found simply migrating their flat NT4 domain structures into a more sophisticated Active Directory wrapping to be a significant challenge. By now, many have defined their Active Directory Forests, survived an often cumbersome deployment process, and seen their directories mature into efficient tools for centralized administration. Policies have become the levers of network management, and, as a result, Active Directory has become a repository holding extremely sensitive data.
Passwords Remain the Weakest Link in the Security Chain
Surprisingly, in most organizations, authentication is still based on passwords only, regardless of how sophisticated their use of Active Directory otherwise may be. Ideally, in a pure Windows 2000 / XP environment, Windows clients use NTLM 2 or Kerberos to protect authentication requests, which is certainly a great improvement compared to the old LM or NTLM 1 protocols. Yet, by default and for backwards compatibility, Windows clients will revert to the old, weaker protocols if required to do so by one of the nodes involved.
Although you can configure clients to refuse LM and NTLM 1 communication, this may conflict with other important services, and the gain is limited since password cracking tools such as @stake LC™ 5 (L0phtCrack™),Sony Ericsson K510aSony Ericsson Consumer Web site, safe and efficient. use, warranty, declaration of conformity. ...... in accordance with the Sony Ericsson instructions
