DownloadGetting Started Guide for the VSX SeriesWhen you attend a meeting using the Polycom® VSX™ system, you’ll see that it’s very much like any other meeting you attend in a conference room. With a VSX system, you can meet with people anywhere in the world, without any travel required.
The VSX systems are easy to use. It’s easy to place calls, create your own directory of numbers, change the way calls are answered, and customize what you see on the screen. Depending on how your system is configured, you can make video calls using ISDN or IP connections and to one site or multiple sites at one time.
You can also share information in calls using content sharing software, document cameras, VCRs, or DVDs.
Before you place your first call, use this guide to get some basic “how-to” information. This guide includes overview information that you may find helpful when you’re just starting to learn about video conferencing or when you have experience, but you need a quick refresher. VSX systems can be customized to show only those options used in your organization.
Therefore, there may be options covered in this guide that you cannot access on your system. To find out more about these options, please talk to the administrator of your VSX system.
This guide covers instructions for the following models.
VSX set-top systems: VSX 5000, VSX 6000, VSX 7000, and VSX 7000s. VSX component systems: VSX 7000e and VSX 8000. VSX 3000 executive desktop system.

I decided that the quickest way to get you up and running with your own web server would be to use Apache Friend's XAMPP. XAMPP is an application that combines Apache (the web server), MySQL (database), PHP (scripting language) and phpMyAdmin (database administration) all into one.
Normally, to set up a web server you'd have to install each of those individually. With XAMPP, you install one application and you have a fully functional server. Now, you're probably thinking, “Well, if it's that easy then why is this blog entry HUGE!?” Well. The reason this is a large entry is I am going to walk you through all the steps of setting up XAMPP AND make sure that you set it up so that it is secure!
The default XAMPP installation is meant for developers on a local network, not for a real world installation, however, there are ways of making the installation secure and ready for real world use. Also, there are a few other things we'll need to do other than installing XAMPP to get things going.
Installing on Fedora Core 5
There are many distributions of Linux out there, my distribution of choice is Fedora Core. I prefer it because I've always had the most luck with it and have friends who use it. The steps contained within this article could be easily applied to Ubuntu or another distribution.
You may also be asking me why I am going to install this using an outdated version of Fedora. The main reasonGlobus: A Metacomputing Infrastructure Toolkit PDFEmerging high-performance applications require the ability to exploit diverse, ge- ographically distributed resources. These applications use high-speed networks to in- tegrate supercomputers, large databases, archival storage devices, advanced visualiza- tion devices, and/or scienti?c instruments to form networked virtual supercomputers or metacomputers. While the physical infrastructure to build such systems is becoming widespread, the heterogeneous and dynamic nature of the metacomputing environment poses new challenges for developers of system software, parallel tools, and applications. In this article, we introduce Globus, a system that we are developing to address these challenges.
The Globus system is intended to achieve a vertically integrated treatment of application, middleware, and network. A low level toolkit provides basic mechanisms such as communication, authentication, network information, and data access. These mechanisms are used to construct various higher-level metacomputing services, such as parallel programming tools and schedulers. Our long-term goal is to build an Adaptive Wide Area Resource Environment (AWARE), an integrated set of higher-level services that enable applications to adapt to heterogeneous and dynamically changing meta- computing environments. Preliminary versions of Globus components were deployed successfully as part of the I-WAY networking experiment.

1. Removal of the original bumper:
Remove all screws which hold the bumper.
Remove the bumper together with the alloy bar. This is hold by two big screws.
Remove the alloy bar from the original bumper and install it to the car.
2. Placement of the Hofele-Design front bumper on the car:
Place the new bumper on the car but do not yet bolt it on.
3. Preparation of the bonnet:
Remove the front grill and the rubber stripe behind it.
Remove the bonnet/hood lock and replace the grip through a longer one (part of delivery) Install the front grill (HF 7354-V8, W12 or S8) in the extension piece.
4. Placement of the extension piece:
Place the extension piece onto the bonnet/hood and fix it with adhesive tape. Align the front grill so that there is an even slit between bumper and grill.
5. Screwing of the bumper:
After the alignment of the front bumper and the front grill you can screw the front bumper.

Recommendations about how to thwart these attacks are made where appropriate. Introduction Microsoft is committed to security. I’ve been playing with Microsoft products, as far as security is concerned, since 1997 and in the past year and a half or two I’ve seen a marked difference with some very positive moves made. In a way they had to. With the public relations crisis caused by worms such as Code Red Microsoft needed to do something to stem the flow of customers moving away from the Windows OS to other platforms.
Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing push was born out of this and, in my opinion, I think we as consumers are beginning to see the results; or ironically not see them - as the holes are just not appearing as they would if the security push wasn’t there. We have, of course, seen at least one major security hole appear in Windows 2003 Server, this being the DCOM IRemoteActivation buffer overflow discovered by the Polish security research group, the Last Stages of Delirium [http://www.lsd-pl.net]. We will see more; but I am confident that the number of security vulnerabilities that will be discovered in Windows 2003 Server will be a fraction of those found in Windows 2000. Acknowledging that there have been holes found and that, yes, more will come to light inStudio Lighting TutorialIn this tutorial, I will show you how to setup a studio lighting rig that I use mainly for vehicle rendering. Basic to intermediate knowledge of 3DS Max is needed for this tutorial. I will be using 3DS MAX 9 for this tutorial, if you have a different version, your button configuration may be a slightly different. This process will take about 10-30 minutes, depending on your particular skill level.
First, you open MAX and go to the Left view port. I like to maximize the view port that I am working in so I would hit ALT+W.
Ok, now you need to go to the Create tab, select Shapes, and then select Line. Draw a line like I have done in the picture below
Next, go under the Modify tab and open the Modifier List and scroll down until you see Lathe.
When you first apply the Lathe modifier, your line will look really weird. Simply go under the Parameters Menu, and then under the Align sub-menu select Max. To get the shape that we want, while still under the Parameters Menu, change the Degrees to 180.0. Make sure the check box next to Weld Core is selected.
After you do that, you should have something like I do below.

Download PDFBasic Cinema 4D abstraction TutorialHi, people will find that this tutorial is easier to follow than actually getting Cinema 4D themselves, but common sense will prevail and if you don't have common sense then ask someone that does, anywho, let's begin. (56k beware) Ok, first we are going to look at the Cinema 4D screen itself as there are a number of features that work well with Abstraction, they are numbered and circled in red:
1. This is the Objects Tab, anything in this tab is to with the shapes that are rendered. This is used to create our basic shapes and later, to edit them
2.This is used to edit the structure of our shapes
3. This handily shows us every polygon that makes up the shape, it basically renders a wireframe over the shape.
4. This is the materials area, this allows us to add images and colour to the renders themselves.
Ok, now we understand the interface we are using, let us begin. Firstly, we need a shape to play with, go to objects>primitive>sphere and this will render a sphere. We can't do anything yet so lets right click the sphere and click "Make Editable" Now we can start to modify our shape.
Now, lets start off with basic modification, to make it easy, we first need to display the wireframe of our sphere, click what I highlighted as number 3 on the interface and then right click the sphere and select "Magnet", this is where the fun begins.
