Basic Walk-Cycle Tutorial MayaThis tutorial is intended to teach new animation students a few basic animation techniques and workflow based on fundamental animation principles using Maya and a free character setup named walkingBall_v2.3 created by the author. This character setup or “rig” has many useful features without being overwhelming to newer students. This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Maya interface, find menu commands, and other basic computer file management skills.
Powerful 3D applications such as Maya require a predefined location to save data and files while you are working. Large studio animation production lines typically create custom software for managing project file structures, to control naming conventions, and to track revisions. Absent such large studio resources we will use the method of organizing files and data that the developers of Maya created called a “Project”. The beauty of this is that you can have multiple projects simultaneously, each with its own set of resources
This tutorial also assumes you are somewhat new to 3D software and animation concepts. We will be using a basic pose-to-pose approach of animation. Pose-to-pose animation is what its name implies, creating character movement by establishing primary positions, or poses, and methodically moving the character from one pose to the next. Different, but just as valid methods such as straight-ahead or layered animation are not described in this tutorial.

More people are buying wireless handheld devices such as cellular phones, pagers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and they demand access to onlineresources at any timefromany location. Over thepast few years a tremendous number of wireless devices different in their characteristics appeared on market. Developments of web application for these devices become challenging experience due to the following reasons [1]:
- ?Different markup languages arenecessary, including HTMLfor PDAs, wireless markup language (WML) for wireless application protocol (WAP) cell phones, and compact HTML (cHTML) for Japanese i-mode phones.
- ?Different display capabilities ? screen size (rows and columns) and color capability.
For example, a device with higher resolution can show more information and have better viewing quality. Some devices can display images and multiple colors, some can make phone calls, and others can receive notification messages.
- ?Devices have different network connectivity, ranging from 9.6-KB cellular connections to 11 MB Wireless LANs. The Mobile Internet Toolkit is thesolution that Microsoft has brought forward to help in mobile web development and overcome the difficulties with it
The mobile internet toolkit overview
The Mobile Internet Toolkit makes fast and easy to build and maintain sophisticated mobile Web applications. It prevents developers from writing lots of custom code to support manydevices intheir mobileWeb applications.Thetoolkit extends theMicrosoft Visual Studio.NET and the ASP.NET so that you can build a single mobile Web application that automatically adapts the display and interaction for a wide variety of mobile devices, including Web-enabled cellCharacter Animation Tutorialhen creating animations, you should be very careful what you do with the FloorRef. When walking or running, the character should stay at a constant height from the FloorRef object. When jumping, the Character should increase it's distance from the FloorRef object to give the appearance of translation away from the floor. Characters should ALSO have a "stationary root" that only moves relative to the floor reference (e.g. for walking, jumping etc.) but that does not move constantly (i.e. in an idle animation the root should not move). This is very important if you wish to use your Characters with the Virtools Mulituser Pack, or the dead reckoning algorithm used for predicting distributed objects will not work correctly.
In short: Make sure the (stationary) root element does not move at all when the character is in its default ('wait' or 'idle') animation. For other animations make sure the root moves a minimum; in a walk animation along the Z axis for example, make sure that the root moves along the Z axis only - there should be no movement on the X or Y axes.
Note: Ensure the animations you create are 'real' in the sense that the Character actually performs them and does not 'pretend' to perform them - e.g. for a walk animation you should ensure that your character actually moves (translates) in your modeling application, and does not perform the animation in situ ("on the spot" or "in place").

23 January 2007 By: Bogdan Solca, Hardware Editor Intel CPU Overclocked at 8GHz! Extreme overclocking techniques from Italy OC Team Italy announced that it managed to unpack a Pentium 4 631 CPU and overclock it to a whooping 7520 Mhz, back on January 10th 2007. This risky procedure required some liquid nitrogen cooling, as well as a non-modified ASUS P5B motherboard. The Italia pointed out that the motherboard made it clear that it cannot go above this core frequency. The guys got impressive feedback from the overclocke' community and thought they could break the 8GHz barrier. Thus, they have once again mounted the copper cooling pipe, tuned up the necessary voltage settings and poured a fresh supply of liquid nitrogen. The result? An outstanding 8001MHz core clock reported by CPU-Z. For the fit attempt, OC Team Italy also used a 1, 7 core voltage (1,6 real voltage with an steep drop), 2x1Gb Cellshock PC8000 memory kit and a 1Kw power supply
Download PDF2008 Nissan Service and Maintenance Guide PDF ManualNissan developed Premium Maintenance for owners who want the ultimate in preventative maintenance. With Premium Maintenance, more maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced than with either Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 maintenance schedules. Using the Premium Maintenance schedule may optimize the performance, reliability, and resale value of your vehicle. SCHEDULE 1 (Every 3,750 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first) Schedule 1 features the same 3,750-mile service intervals as Premium Maintenance; however, with Schedule 1 fewer maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced than with the Premium Maintenance schedule. Use Schedule 1 if you primarily operate your vehicle under any of these conditions: Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles in normal temperatures or less than 10 miles in freezing temperatures Stop-and-go traffic in hot weather or low-speed driving for long distances.
G Driving in dusty conditions or on rough, muddy, or salt-spread roads G G G SCHEDULE 2 (Every 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first) Schedule 2 features 7,500-mile service intervals; with Schedule 2 fewer maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced than with Schedule 1. Generally, Schedule 2 applies only to highway driving in temperate conditions. Use Schedule 2 only if you primarily operate your vehicle under conditions other than those listed in Schedule 1. * Premium Maintenance is a Nissan-recommended option; however, owners need not perform such maintenance in order to maintain the warranties which come with their Nissan. Premium Maintenance may not be available outside the United States, please inquire of your dealer.G-RAID Installation Guide pdfG-RAID is the world's only FireWire storage solution specifically designed to support professional content creation applications.
