It allows conversational applications to be developed and deployed in an analogous way to HTML for visual applications. Many kinds of ConXML applications can be developed. These applications can include: content sharing, event management, polling, order inquiry, package tracking, driving directions, emergency notification, fiight tracking, customer relationship management, prescription refilling, audio newsmagazines, real-estate information and national directory assistance applications.
Just as HTML documents are interpreted by a visual web browser, ConXML documents are interpreted by a virtual conversation browser. This virtual browser is connected to the mobile, IM, and email networks allowing messages described in the ConXML docu- ments to be sent and received. Through HTTP this virtual browser fetches and interprets ConXML pages from other application servers while maintaining the state of the conversation in the virtual browser. It is very simple using this architecture to build highly complex ConXML applications that extend existing web applications, since the only requirements is to output an alternate markup while using the same business logic. The design decisions needed to build a conversation application are the same used to build a web application. Some applica- tions may use static ConXML pages, while others rely on dynamic ConXML page generation using an application server like RoR, Tomcat, or PHP.

Certain features of a network analyzer can be set to monitor for virus and attack signatures and offer quick ways of isolating infected systems. For those organizations that are looking to invest in a network analyzer there are certain key features that should be considered. Introduction Chances are, your IT toolbox already contains a network analyzer. Historically, a network (or protocol) analyzer has been a great tool for troubleshooting network problems and monitoring for excessive bandwidth usage.
But did you know a network analyzer can also fight virus and hack attacks? Along with keeping track of network devices and uptime, a network analyzer can also locate network security breaches and help identify and isolate virus-infected systems. It’s very easy to use your current analyzer to enhance your network security. But which analyzer features are essential for this task? The purpose of this article is to explain how an analyzer can augment firewalls and other perimeter defenses. How Network Analyzers Work A network analyzer shows you what is happening on your network by decoding the different protocols that devices on the network use to communicate, and presenting the results in human...

Download PDFIntegrating Existing Software Toolkits into VO SystemVirtual Observatory (VO) is a collection of interoperating data archives and software tools. Taking advantages of the latest information technologies, it aims to provide a data-intensively online research environment for astronomers all around the world. A large number of high-qualified astronomical software packages and libraries are powerful and easy of use, and have been widely used by astronomers for many years. Integrating those toolkits into the VO system is a necessary and important task for the VO developers.
VO architecture greatly depends on Grid and Web services, consequently the general VO integration route is "Java Ready – Grid Ready – VO Ready". In the paper, we discuss the importance of VO integration for existing toolkits and discuss the possible solutions. We introduce two efforts in the field from China-VO project, "gImageMagick" and " Galactic abundance gradients statistical research under grid environment". We also discuss what additional work should be done to convert Grid service to VO service.
Virtual Observatory (VO) is the result of combination of Astronomy and the latest information technologies. VO is driven by astronomical research and education, but is enabled by the latest technical progresses, especially those in computer science and network.
One of the final goals of different VO projects from different countries and regions is to setup an International Virtual Observatory (IVO). While, the basic aim of the IVO is to provide uniform resource access to its users. The resources provided by the IVO are all kinds of resources related to astronomical research, education and outreach, including butEndNote X Getting Started Guide (Macintosh and Windows)earch bibliographics on the Internet, organize references, images and PDF s in a snap Construct your paper with built-in templates Watch your bibliographic, table and figure lists appear as you write! To offer some guidance through simple explanation of the technology and 5 Ideas where real issues can be addressed, this white paper goes some way towards clearing the way for businesses to work with Web 2.0.
The aim is not to blindly evangelise and urge everyone to become involved – rather to help our clients align Web 2.0 with their business strategy in an appropriate and realistic fashion.
What is Web 2.0?
Sceptics may see Web 2.0 as nothing more than a game of buzzword bingo. So rather than trying to defining Web 2.0, let’s talk about the companies and websites that are causing the buzz.
The most talked about aspect of Web 2.0 is social networking and the most talked about social networking site is MySpace – so much so that the predominantly youthful users have become known as the MySpace Generation. MySpace recently had more page views than Yahoo!, Google and MSN. No one can argue with its influence. So how does MySpace work? Users begin by creating a public profile. They can embellish their basic details with photos, music, videos and thoughts for the day. Users then begin building their network of friends. These friends can be people they know, or stars from TV, radio and the movies. Many bands now start their careersProceedings of the Linux SymposiumThis paper will discuss the difficulties and methods involved in debugging the Linux kernel on huge clusters. Intermittent errors that occur once every few years are hard to debug and become a real problem when running across thousands of machines simultaneously. The more we scale clusters, the more reliability becomes critical. Many of the normal debugging luxuries like a serial console or physical access are unavailable. Instead, we need a new strategy for addressing thorny intermittent race conditions. This paper presents the case for a new set of tools that are critical to solve these problems and also very useful in a broader context. It then presents the design for one such tool created from a hybrid of a Google internal tool and the open source LTTng project. Real world case studies are included.
Well established techniques exist for debugging most Linux kernel problems; instrumentation is added, the error is reproduced, and this cycle is repeated until the problem can be identified and fixed. Good access to the machine via tools such as hardware debuggers (ITPs), VGA and serial consoles simplify this process significantly, reducing the number of iterations required. These techniques work well for problems that can be reproduced quickly and produce a clear error such as an oops or kernel panic. However, there are some types of problems that cannot be properly debugged in this fashion as they are:
• Not easily reproducible on demand;
• Only reproducible in a live production environment;
• Occur infrequently, particularly if they occur infrequently onCreating a 3D immersive environment in MayaThe following tutorial will take you step by step through the creation of a natural environment in Maya. You will also setup a character inside the environment and to add interactivity in Virtools. This tutorial introduces you to Maya’s 3D Paint Effects allowing you to paint in 3D. A few strokes can paint trees, grass, flowers. The paint strokes from your brush are converted into 3D objects inside a 3D space. Maya’s ability to convert 3D Paint Effects to polygonal objects is helpful to create content for interactive environments. This tutorial requires Maya 5.0 and up.
You can control the strokes’ shape, color, density, while painting on the horizontal grid plane of the perspective view or directly on other 3D objects. Let’s grab a brush and start to paint trees and grass in 3D, let’s create the ground for your forest.
3.1 - Creating the ground
Open a new scene in Maya. Go to the top menu, select, “File” > “New Scene”. Select the “Modeling” module in the box located on the left of the “Status Line”. Create a polygonal plane for the floor of your scene. Go to, “Create” > “Polygon Primitives” > “Plane”

More than likely, these representatives will have some experience in selecting and fitting the towing equipment that is appropriate for your Nissan vehicle.
When renting, make sure you have your owner’s manual on hand so that you can check the towing capacities for your specific vehicle. Never rent a trailer that exceeds these capacities, and make sure that any other equipment you rent is sufficient for your loaded trailer.
While you’re there, ask questions: How much does the trailer weigh? What is the trailer tongue load? How much weight will the trailer hold? What type of brakes is it equipped with? All of these items have an effect on whether your Nissan vehicle is capable of safely pulling that trailer or piece of equipment.
Make certain that all trailer stoplights, taillights, and turn signals are hooked up and operate correctly, and that all safety equipment is properly installed. Check the safety chains/cables, tie-downs, etc.
Carefully inspect the condition of the trailer and equipment: Are the tires worn excessively? Are the tire pressures correct? Are there broken welds, missing bolts or pieces? All these factors can also affect your safety.
Towing safety should be a high priority when choosing and renting equipment, and this is especially true concerning hitches. Never rent a clamp-on-type hitch. Since Nissan bumpers not specifically marked for towing are not designed for trailer loads, using this type
