The popular fifth-generation Sentra sedan, introduced in 2001, gets further styling tweaks and added convenience features to keep it competitive in the econocar/ pocket-rocket segment. For 2004, the Sentra receives redesigned front and rear fascias and a newly styled hood. Interior upgrades on the 2.5S, SE-R, and SE-R Spec V include an enhanced Rockford Fosgate sound system and a trip computer as standard equipment, while the SE-R Spec V gets Skyline-style sport bucket seats. Power choices remain a fuel-thrifty 126-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the 1.8 and 1.8S models and, for a good deal more oomph, a 165-hp, 2.5-liter four-banger in the 2.5S and SE-R. But for a wilder ride we recommend the more powerful and responsive 175-hp, 2.5-liter version in the wicked little SE-R Spec V, which also gets a new brake package with quicker-stopping Brembo front discs.

In 2002, when Nissan finally brought to market an all-new Z-car worthy of its name and heritage, it quickly made our 10Best list. We loved the new Z’s great design, performance, and outstanding value. Last year, Nissan made us more happy with a brilliant new 350Z roadster. For 2005, there’s a 35th-anniversary edition to mark the debut of the original 240Z in 1970. Otherwise, there are only some refinements that make this good car better, such as downshift rev matching for the five-speed automatic transmission that makes better use of the spirited 287-hp, 3.5-liter DOHC V-6 engine. To maximize performance, go with the close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox-and no more trembling left legs, as clutch-pedal effort has been reduced. Other upgrades include a quicker nav system, heated outside mirrors, and a standard tire-pressure monitoring system.

AJAX for Mobile Devices

Over the last 12 years, Microsoft Corporation has developed a successful operating system for mobile devices based on Windows CE, currently known as Windows Mobile. The Windows Mobile deliverable consists of (1) a particular set of Windows CE components, (2) a logo test kit requirements document, (3) a set of light weight middleware applications, and (4) commercialization components, such as drivers and value-added services provided by OEMs and Mobile Operators. Microsoft licenses the Windows Mobile OS to third parties, (generally OEMs and MOs), who commercialize and sell the operating system as part of a device and service offering.

As we all know, online (or virtual) communities are groups of people that primarily or initially interact with each other over the Internet. People who are active in the same social spaces on a regular basis will probably start to recognize other visitors after a while [Wolf, 2006]. With some of them, they will interact by sharing or exchanging information or thoughts. Communication plays an important role in everybody’s life, professionally as well as personally. Lately, the demand for efficient communication ‘tools’ has steadily increased. Most newly developed technologies have resulted from this trend. The main drivers involved are users’ mobility and their continuous need for ubiquitous communication: mobile applications make it possible to communicate whenever and wherever people want [Jaokar & Fish, 2006; Lacohée, Wakeford & Pearson, 2003].

If you wish to do your assignments on a PC, you will need either Windows 2000, XP, or
Vista and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. Note that Windows 98 or Me are not able to run Visual Studio 2005. You should be familiar with the Windows operating system and PCs in general, and be willing and able to figure out the Visual Studio 2005 environment.

The emphasis in class will be on general programming concepts, not on the workings of Visual Studio (often referred to as just VS), and the code you write will be virtually identical to code written by students using a Macintosh.
