The First Appearance of Web 2.0It is hard to pinpoint the moment of Web 2.0’s emergence – because there was not one. The was no release of a single new technology. There was no single economic insight or business model that completely disrupted existing markets. There was no industry consortium that defined a new standard. If forced to pick a moment, perhaps Google’s IPO will serve historically as the marker – in the same way that Netscape’s IPO’s is often used to signify the birth of the dot com era. At any rate, at some point over the past 12 to 18 months several factors have aligned and a there is now recognition that the companies and web services that are moving the internet market today share many common characteristics.
Formally, “Web 2.0” as a label was first used by Tim O’Reilly and Dale Dougherty of O’Reilly Publishing. The story goes that the two were brainstorming about the shared characteristics of today’s successful internet companies compared with the characteristics of the pre-dotcom bubble companies of 2000. Their brainstorming led to the birth of a conference – Web 2.0 (http://www.web2con.com/web2con/), which was held in October of 2004. The evolution of internet focused companies and services in the 13 months since that conference have helped to reinforce – and extend - their observations.
Web 2.0 Characteristics
Ultimately, Web 2.0 is an industry buzzword. Like any buzzword, it’s usefulness can be debated because they are easily mis-used and misunderstood. For me, it is best to think of “Web 2.0” as aHelloDevice Lite Series LS110 User ManualOverview Package Check List Product Specification Terminologies and Acronyms Getting Started Panel Layout Connecting the Hardware Connecting the Power Connecting to the Network Connecting to the Device. Installation Guide pdfLike most electrical components inside computers, memory is susceptible to damage by static electricity. NEVER handle memory our computer parts if you have any static electric-ity buildup. Before working with sensitive electronics, touch a large metal object to ground yourself. If you have an antistatic ground-ing strap, use it while working with your computer. Overview The memory modules for the PowerBook G4 are easy to install, but the steps in this guide should be followed exactly. Be sure to read this entire instruction guide before you begin.
TO INSTALL NEW MEMORY MODULES IN YOUR APPLE POWERBOOK G4: 1. Shut down your computer. Disconnect the power adapter, phone cord, and any other cables connected to the computer. Turn the computer over (See Figure 1) and remove the battery by using a coin or flathead screwdriver to turn the battery locking screw 90 degrees clockwise. (NOTE: Please follow all ESD requirements.) 2. Using a Phillips size 00 screwdriver, unscrew the memory door and remove it from the bottom of your computer (see Figure 2). 3. If you already have a memory card installed in the slot, and you wish to use your new memory card in addition to it, you must remove the existing card to gain access to a second slot underneath the existing memory card. Once you do that, you may insert either memory card in either slot. (If you intend to use ONLY your new memory card, install the new card in the upper slot and leave the lower slotUsing molecular graphics software to create geometrySeveral PDB viewers, including Chimera and Pymol, are able to export molecular representations as VRML files. VRML files can then be converted to a file type that can be imported directly into the 3D application of your choice. By default, Maya is able to open/import .obj, .fbx, .mel, .ma and .mb files (among others). Plugins can be installed to import a number of other 3d file types, but as of yet there is no direct way to import VRML files into Maya.
First, we’ll explore the functionality of Chimera and export VRML files of the reovirus attachment protein sigma1, then we’ll use the ‘multiscale model’ option in Chimera to export the reovirus core as VRML. We will then use PyMOL to create a cartoon protein representation and export it to VRML.

Surfaces & Ribbons:
Open PDB ID ‘1KKE’ using Chimera’s ‘Fetch by ID’ command under the File menu. To download any PDB directly, you can go to http://www.rcsb.org. Chimera can also be downloaded for free from the UCSF Chimera website (http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/). By default, the molecule is seen as a wire model. You can tumble the model using the left mouse button (LMB). The right mouse button (RMB) allows use to zoom in, and the middle mouse button (MMB) pans.

Smart dimensioning tools force overlapping dimensions to automatically space themselves appropriately while integrating tolerance and fit list information into the drawing. Inspection dimensions enable you to specify testing criteria. Read on to learn more about how you can use Power Dimension to quickly change, edit, or delete dimensions and spend your time innovating rather than managing workflow issues. It’s much more enjoyable.
Using Distance Snap
Back when I was drafting on basic AutoCAD, a long time ago, I had a bad habit. I’d spend hours making my drawings look good. Yeah, you know what I mean; it all starts when trying to place dimension lines at just the right distance from the geometry, then it snow balls into aligning dimensions and rearranging dimensions and before you know it you’ve just spent another hour. Thankfully, we upgraded to AutoCAD Mechanical and I found power dimension and its distance snap... the rest they say is history.
So here’s how it works. After you’ve specified the first and second extension lines, power dimension will ask you to specify the dimension line location; just like AutoCAD does. But instead of trying to find another dimension to align it with, keep dragging your cursor. The preview will ‘snap’ to a location and change from green to red. This is power dimension’s distance snap and while it is snapped in position and red, theUsing DBManager to Configure MySQLIt is sometimes daunting for a beginner to configure and use the MySQL database engine. A good GUI can help no end. My favourite Windows-based GUI is called DBManager, and is available from www.dbtools.com.br. This tutorial assumes you have read and followed my two earlier tutorials, on installing Apache and PHP, and on installing MySQL.
Downloading DBManager
After finding the www.dbtools.com.br site, and selecting either Portuguese or English, you need to find the Download link. There is only a free version available at the moment, so follow that link. You will be asked for a few bits of personal information, before you get to the download page.
Installing DBManager
Just locate where you downloaded the file and double-click. It installs quickly. Just note that the database server must be installed before DBManager. It should also be noted that DBManager will control PostgreSQL as well as MySQL databases.

I had my fit cycle ride in the summer of 1967 from a friend on a Bridgestone. I was going into 8th grade at the time, but that ride is all it took for me to get hooked on the feeling of riding the open road. I have been riding Honda since 1969 when I started with a 65cc Sport. All those yea riding cycles taught me the dange of the road and you can imagine the thoughts that went through my head when Ryan, my high school age son announced he wanted a motorcycle. Knowing he did not have the funds to buy one, I was able to stall him out for a while so he could mature. This past April Ryan called from college to let me know he wanted a cycle in the wot way this summer of 2006. I could hear.

The youtube generation has quite different expectations about websites in general. For starters, websites with plain HTML forms and smartly laid text are passé, and are being replaced by websites full of dynamic content: Google Maps, Gap’s highly interactive website and Nike’s all new Flash website are all examples of the new generation of websites. Not only are the sites getting richer – more rich media, video etc. – they enable users to do a lot more. Companies like Timberland, Ikea, Home Depot, Sherwin Williams, have created websites that offer sophisticated applications that allow users to create-a-custom-product or try-before-you-buy.
A Web 2.0 website may feature any or all of a number of the following techniques:
Rich Internet application techniques, optionally Ajax and Flash based
Syndication and aggregation of data in RSS/Atom
Extensive use of folksonomies (as tags or tag clouds)
REST or XML Web service APIs
Semantically valid XHTML markup and/or the use of Micro
formats
Clean and meaningful URLs
Use of wikis
Web log publishing
Mashups
Add these new technologies to the fact that the web browser market is no longer dominated by Microsoft Internet Explorer. Browsers like Firefox, Opera, Netscape and AOL are increasingly emerging as significant competitors.
