If you have no alternative but to use these connectors, only the designs approved by BMW may be used. The MPEG-7 standard provides description mechanisms and ontology management tools for multimedia documents. We have implemented a classification scheme for sound effects management ipired on the MPEG-7 standard on top of an existing lexical network, WordNet. WordNet is a semantic network that organizes over 100.000 concepts of the real world with links among them. We show how to extend WordNet with the concepts of the specific domain of sound effects. We review some of the taxonomies to describe acoustically sounds. Mining legacy metadata from sound effects libraries further supplies us with terms. The extended semantic network includes the semantic, perceptual and sound effects specific
DownloadPraxis Script Programming GuideThis guide is intended to for use with the PRAXIS v2.0 manual in the development of custom scripts which can be run within the PRAXIS measurement system. Praxis Scripts are Windows applications in themselves that run from within PRAXIS. They include visual forms on which you can place familiar user interface components like buttons, edit boxes, sliders, text editors, images, etc., and easily give them high level functionality by setting properties and writing code in DelphiScript (based on Borland Delphi) or VBScript (a language based on Microsoft Visual Basic).
The Scripts are developed using the Liberty Script Designer, which is an additional, separate application that is installed along with PRAXIS and which can be started from within Praxis. The Script Designer can be started by using the Scripts -> Design a Script menu on the Main Form.
Although Praxis was developed entirely using Borland's Delphi language, and the components used are Delphi "VCL" components, other languages such as VBScript and JavaScript can be used to develop code if you wish. Most procedures and functions that are built into Delphi are also usable in a PRAXIS script, even when the script is programmed in languages other than DelphiScript. The Script Designer provides specific support, such as automatic generation of skeletal scripts, for the VBScript and DelphiScript languages.

The goal is a fully functional high-performance mailsystem with user-administration with Web-cyradm, a webinterface. Data like virtualusers, aliases etc. are stored in a mysql database.
Cyrus IMAP
The Cyrus IMAP is developed and maintained by Carnegie Mellon University. Unlike the WU-IMAPd Cyrus is using its own method to store the users mail. The data is stored in a database, this makes Cyrus so performant. Especially with lots of users and/or lot of big emails, there is nothing such fast as the Cyrus IMAP-server. Another very important feature is, you don’t need a local Un*x user for each account. All users are authenticated by the IMAP-Server. This makes it a great solution for really huge base of users.
User administration is done by special IMAP-commands. This allows you to eighter use the commandline interface, or use one of the available Webinterfaces. This Method is much more secure than a Webinterface to /etc/passwd! Since CMU changed the license policy for Cyrus, this software is going to be used by much more users
Web-cyradm is the Webinterface that allows you to perform the administrative tasks to your mailsystem This Screenshot shows the domain-administration part of Web-cyradm.
Web-cyradm is written in PHP, which is often installed on webservers. Time to set up Web-cyradm takes just a few minutes. At the time being, Web-cyradm does not support different roles for its users. According to Wikipedia, it hints at an improved form of the World Wide Web where technologies such as weblogs, social bookmarking, RSS feeds, photo and video sharing, based on an architecture of participation and democracy that encourages users to add value to the application as they use it. Web 2.0 enables social networking on the Web by allowing users to contribute content, share it, rate it, create a network of friends, and decide what they like to see and how they want it to look like.
In this panel, we propose to explore what Web 2.0 has to do with databases. Among the questions we will ask are: Are we going to be building new kinds of databases with Web 2.0? What does it mean when 1 million people are building a database as a collaborative effort? What is a new notion of schemas and queries that we need to develop for such scenarios? The main point of controversy is that while some people think that Web 2.0 requires a new data management infrastructure, others view it as a great opportunity to integrate many ”small” distributed databases which store users and content. We finish the panel by asking the question: Are there databases we can build now that could not be built earlier because we have mass collaboration?
