Linguistic Library makes it possible to add linguistic services like spell checkers and hyphenation services to Adobe products, through the Linguistic Library API.
Linguistic Library is not a shrink-wrapped product. Instead, it provides common linguistic services for many Adobe products; thus, it is an important component of these products.
Linguistic Library has an extensible architecture. You can extend the functionality of Linguistic Library to provide customized linguistic services by implementing plug-ins for it. The advantage of implementing plug-ins through Linguistic Library is that these additional lin- guistic services are available to all Adobe products automatically if they use Linguistic Library. To provide services through individual product extensions, you would have to write programs against every product API.
The intended audience for this document is developers with a basic understanding of Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) technology and Apple’s CFPlug-in API (since the Linguistic Library plug-in architecture is based on these technologies).
Terminology
The following terms are used in this document:
Client application — An Adobe application that uses linguistics services provided by Lin- guistic Library.
Lilo — Shorthand for Adobe Linguistic Library, used in some interface names and folder names.
Plug-in — Except where explicitly specified, “plug-ins” in this document refers to Linguistic Library plug-ins that extend Linguistic Library and provide additional, customized linguis- tic services.

I’ve written a simple application to analyse the complete works of Shakespeare that will allow me to demonstrate various techniques. The analysers have been written as plug-in modules so can I select one, click Analyse and it returns statistics for the text. All the analysers implement the same functionality, some more quickly than others.
The operation is very simple. Each Shakespeare play is a separate textfile, the program scans all the text files in a folder. Splits the text into lines, removes any punctation and converts everything to lowercase. Each word is taken in turn and looked up in a master dictionary. Set up a Quicken Account and Download Transactions for the First Time

Step 1 Log into your Online Banking service at www.bankri.com. Select the account to be downloaded. On the next screen under Transactions, choose Transactions Menu or Transactions Export.
Step 2 Locate the Export Format field, and select Intuit Quicken [.QFX]. Download the Web Connect file (.qfx file extension) and save it to your desktop.

ON CAMPUS
To use the network you will need an Ethernet connection cable, an Internet browser (Internet Explorer comes preinstalled with OS X).
MAC SETUP
To make your computer network ready please follow the instructions below.
1) Go to the Apple menu and launch “System Preferences...” as shown below:
Note: The Apple Menu stays the same no matter what program you’re using.
2) Click NETWORK from the “Internet & Network” list.
3) Select “Built-in-Ethernet” from the Show pull down list (see illustration below).
4) Select “Using DHCP server” from the Configure pull-down list.
