  • Studying Bluetooth Malware Propagation
  • The BlueBag Project Current Bluetooth worms pose relatively little danger compared to Internet scanning worms—but things might change soon. The authors’ BlueBag project shows targeted attacks through Bluetooth malware using proof-of-concept codes and devices that demonstrate their feasibility. In this article, we focus on the new risks created by the widespread presence of Bluetooth-enabled devices carrying both potentially sensitive data and vulnerability-prone software. In particular, we show how this mix of technologies could become a vehicle for propagating malware that’s specifically crafted to extract information from smart phones. We built a mobile, covert attack device (which we call BlueBag) that demonstrates how stealthy attackers can reach and infect a wide number of devices. Bluetooth technology As a word or term, Bluetooth is now fairly common. The literal meaning supposedly refers to the Viking Emperor Harald (Blatand, in Danish), who lived during the 10th century AD and united the kingdoms of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald _I_of_Denmark). In fact, the Bluetooth protocol aims to unify different wireless data-transmission technologies among mobile and static electronic devices such as PCs, cellular phones, notebooks, PDAs, DVD players, MP3 devices, TVs, Hi-Fis, cash registers, point-of-sale termi- Download Studying Bluetooth Malware Propagation
  • Basic Emacs Tutorial Statistics Orientation PDF Sheet
  • Introduction On a very basic level, Emacs is a text editor. However it is much more versatile than other less sophisticated editors in the UNIX environment, such as for example pico. More specifically, Emacs can work together with other applications, such as TEX, L TEX, and S-Plus, to provide a sort of graphical A user interface. We will get an example of this when we begin to use ESS (Emacs Speaks Statistics) and LTEX. A Dot Emacs Files These files make your life a lot easier. By color coding the syntax (for example in TEX?les), it is easy to see if youve made a syntax error, because it wont look right. In your Tutorial folder, there is a beginners .emacs ?le. Copy this to your home directory before proceeding-it will make things a lot easier (it is intended for use on the stat network with ESS and includes keybindings- see the ESS reference sheet, http://www.stat.rice.edu/helpdesk/FAQ/ess.ps). • Renault Service Manual System PDF
  • The control module is central to the Entertainment system. It interprets and implements commands entered by the user using the system’s infrared remote control. These commands are relayed to the control module via the system’s infrared sensors mounted in the screen modules. It also distributes power to the system and detects the vehicle’s ignition state via a sense wire running from CN1 to the vehicle’s ignition switch. This enables it to limit battery drain whilst the vehicle is not in use. The control module receives audio and video inputs from the DVD Player via connector CN1 and from the vehicle’s TV tuner (if fitted) via connector CN2. It is also able to receive a further audio/video input and supply a low-level two-channel audio output via CN3. Technical Description: A micro-controller in the Control Module supplies and controls the power to the system via an I 2 C bus. On receipt of a power-on command from the Infrared Controller it performs a simple system check and then sends commands to other parts of the system to bring them on line. When a screen has been selected using the infrared remote control the Control Module identifies the selected screen and displays on it a menu providing the user with access to the functions detailed below: “Independent switching of three Audio-Visual inputs (DVD, TV and AUX) “Video manipulation (Colour, brightness, contrast and aspect ratio of the display.) “Audio processor (Bass, Treble and Volume) “On-Screen instructions language selection “Switch on/off individual screen displays The Control
  • GT 050Q Quick Guide
  • The GT 050Q is a fixed-mount tabletop drive with a quad interface, utilizing FW400, FW800, USB 2.0 and eSATA connections. Depending on which port(s) your computer has, you can connect the GT 050Q in a number of ways. You’re probably already familiar with FireWire 400 and USB, so we’ll tell you a little about FireWire 800 and eSATA. FireWire 800 Facts • FireWire 800 supports speeds up to 800 Mb/sec, twice as fast as FireWire 400. • If your computer does not have built-in FireWire 800, you'll need a PCI card to achieve a true FireWire 800 connection. • Most 800 ports are Bi-Lingual, which means they speak both FireWire 400 and FireWire 800. • If you connect a 400 device to an 800 device, you will be running at 400 speed maximum. • FireWire is forward-compatible and back-compatible, but the bus always runs at the speed of the slowest link. • Beta cables are used to connect 800 devices to 800 devices. • Bi-Lingual cables are available to connect 400 devices to 800 devices. • Bi-Lingual cables have a 9-pin Bi-Lingual connector at one end and a 4-pin or 6-pin FireWire 400 connector at the other end eSATA Facts • eSATA is an external interface technology that grew from the internal SATA I interface. • The GT 050Q’s eSATA port supports speeds up to 1.5 Gb/sec (150 MB/sec), much faster than FireWire 400 or FireWire 800. • Shielded eSATA cables up to 2 meters in length are available. • eSATA cables are different than SATA I cables, they are shielded and cannot

  • Converting an AutoCAD Drawing into PDF File
  • In this tutorial we will learn to create a PDF File from an AutoCAD drawing. There are four possible methods to bring an AutoCAD drawing into an Adobe Illustrator file. Method 1. To directly place an AutoCAD drawing in the Illustrator file. Method 2. Converting an AutoCAD drawing into a PDF format and placing the PDF in the Illustrator file. Method 3. Copy and paste (only to be used if 1 and 2 are not successful) Method 4. Save as an EPS Method 1 is the simplest, as one can simply place the AutoCAD drawing in the Illustrator file by using the place command. However in this method the drawing is not at any particular scale and needs to be scaled manually using a scale bar as a reference. This process can be tedious and not highly accurate. Method 2 involves one extra step of making a PDF file out of the autocad drawing. The advantage in using this method is that the output PDF can be at the required scale. Thus when we place the PDF into the Illustrator file it is at the required scale and requires no further adjustments in terms of scale. Creating a PDF: Note: Adobe PDF writer / Acrobat distiller are required to be able to convert a drawing from AutoCAD to a PDF. Creating a PDF is similar to printing from AutoCAD, the only difference is to selection of the Adobe PDF writer or Acrobat distiller as the printer.
