Download pdf AXIS OfficeBasic Print Server Installation GuideHow to Create a Reference ImageUsually, when you’re modeling something in Maya, you have a rough idea of what it should be like. However, what if you have actual images of the object you are modeling and want to be as accurate as possible? This is usually the case when you create a model from scratch. This is a very basic and important modeling skill to have. In this tutorial, I will teach you how to set up a basic reference plane to model your, for lack of better words, model after.
Settings
Remember to always check your settings before starting any new Maya file! In this tutorial, I used FEET for the linear option, DEGREES for the angle option, and NTSC 30fps for the time option.
Creating Reference Planes
Starting in the top bar, go to CREATE > POLYGON PRIMITIVES > PLANE > OPTION BOX.
Or alternatively, you can click on the PLANE icon in the POLYGONS shelf tab.

Download PDFHow to Use StreamSpin for Creating Your Own ServicesThe center for Data-intensive Systems (Daisy) at Aalborg University is currently working on a large project in which they combine the two worlds of Web 2.0 and Location-based services.
The project known as the StreamSpin-project currently employs numerous developers. Furthermore it is planned that students will have the opportunity to develop their own services for the system during the coming semesters in order to mature the system and its service deliveries.
It is the overall purpose of the StreamSpin project to be for Location-based services what YouTube is for video . Thereby, the vision is that virtually anybody should be able to create their own services and publish them to the masses or limit the publication to close friends.
The motivation behind the project is the vision that the web now is becoming more and more mobile. Hence the need for Location-based services will grow massively in the near future. People using mobile phones with GPS or other positioning systems will have the possibility of knowing their position at a given time.
This opens up for numerous advantageous scenarios in which a user of a mobile phone could retrieve information based on position, time and a customizable pro le. Systems that displays this behavior already exist, however the StreamSpin-project proposes that services are pushed to the mobile device rather than requested by the mobile device itself.
The aim of this short paper is to cover the most important issues involving the creation of services for the StreamSpin-project. This includes understanding the StreamSpin server structure andiPod Safety Guide (Manual)cleaning, and allow it to dry thoroughly before turning it on again. Repairing iPod. Download PDFBreaking into computer networks from the Internet PDFWhat is this document about anyway? While I was writing this document a book “Hack Proofing Your Network” was released. I haven’t been able to read it (dunno if its in print yet, and besides - everything takes a while to get to South Africa). I did however read the first chapter, as it is available to the public. In this chapter the author writes about different views on IT security - hackers, crackers, script kiddies and everything in between. I had some thoughts about this and decided that it was a good starting point for this document. I want to simplify the issue - let us forget motives at the moment, and simply look at the different characters in this play. To do this we will look at a real world analogy. Let us assume the ultimate goal is breaking into a safe (the safe is a database, a password file, confidential records or whatever).
The safe is located inside of a physical building (the computer that hosts the data). The building is located inside of a town (the computer is connected to a network). There is a path/highway leading to the town and the path connects the town to other towns and/or cities. (read Internet/Intranet). The town/city is protected by a tollgate or an inspection point (the network is protected by a firewall, screening router etc.) There might be certain residents (the police) in the town looking for suspicious activity, and reporting it to the town’s mayor (the policeLynn Allen’s Tips and Tricks For Using AutoCAD 2008 SoftwareNew D Workspace
If you are using only 2D AutoCAD ® commands, why not use the new 2D Drafting & Annotation workspace? This capability displays powerful 2D tools on the Dashboard.
D Dashboard Control Panels
New 2D control panels provide easy access to layers and include controls for annotation scaling, text, dimensions, multiple leaders, tables, 2D navigation commands, object properties, and block attributes. When you select a tool from the Dashboard, the corresponding tool palette also displays, where applicable.
Tool Palettes
When you drag geometry to an inactive tool palette, it is automatically activated for easy placement—just give it an extra second to switch.
• A new Specify Image option on the shortcut menu makes it easy to assign an image to any tool.
• The location of tools on a tool palette is now saved in the tool catalog (and the profile), making it easier to share your tool palettes with others and maintain the same look and feel.
• Use TPNAVIGATE to set a tool palette current at the command line (for programming purposes).
Clean Screen
Use the Clean Screen button located in the lower-right corner of the screen to turn off everything except for the status and menu bars and the command window. This feature comes in handy when showing files to a client and you need to quickly clean up your interface.
Download pdf Lynn Allen’s Tips and Tricks For Using AutoCAD 2008 SoftwareHow to Secure and Accelerate Your Oracle ApplicationsGlobalization and ecommerce have fundamentally reshaped the competitive landscape, and forced companies to operate more efficiently. Mobile technology and broadband networks have enabled employees to work anywhere, and raised their expectations for easy access to centralized applications and corporate databases.
Companies have never been as dependent on software applications to perform their day-to-day operations and achieve their corporate objectives. Yet, the growing use of today‘s —internal“ software applications across wide area networks (WANs), or external applications across the Internet, is making it increasingly difficult to obtain optimal and secure performance from these essential applications.
Gaining greater performance from enterprise applications, such as those from Oracle, has become increasingly critical because of escalating pressures on companies today. Yet efforts to improve application performance, especially to remote users, are complicated by network limitations; bandwidth, and especially network latency.
Combined, these trends are generating interest and adoption of a widening array of ”on-demand‘ applications to satisfy companies‘ rapidly changing business requirements. Hosted on the Internet, business applications are easier to own, but that makes the Internet the backbone of your business data. Conversely, employees can be remote users to internal applications, using the Internet as their WAN with the help of VPN technologies. As a result, the line of demarcation between a company‘s WAN and the Internet is blurring. This can make enterprises and employees more vulnerable to a proliferation of security threats that can significantly affect their business operations. It also means users have to go across higher latency networks outside of your control, risking
