Obviously the methods described here are also applicable in other development environments, as long as users know their preferred development tools well enough.
The first step in this process is to create your CSIM model as you would normally. In our example, the model was first written and compiled as a standard Win32 console application using Microsoft Visual C++ 6. The original console program is included in this tutorial package and is called phone.exe. In this stage it is easy to find and fix all the bugs in the model itself without worrying about problems anywhere else. It is important to verify that the model gives the correct output at this stage, so that it will be easier to catch any bugs in the GUI later.
At this point we can design the Visual Basic interface. For our simple example, the program only really needs one, single form. First off, OJB uses Ant to build, so please install it prior to using OJB. In addition, please make sure that the environment variables ANT_HOME and JAVA_HOME are correctly set to the top-level folders of your Ant distribution and your JDK installation, respectively. Next download the latest ojb-blank and OJB binary distributions. You can also start with the source distribution rather than the binary as the unit tests provide excellent sample code and you can build the ojb-blank project on your own with it.
The ojb-blank project contains all libraries necessary to get running. However, there may be additional libraries required when you venture deeper into OJB's APIs. See here for a list of additional libraries. Most notably, you'll probably want to add the jdbc driver for you database unless you plan to use the embedded Hsqldb database for which the ojb-blank project is pre-configured (including all necessary jars).

For MT and Application APIs, http POST is initiated by the External Application and directed to the MMG.
For MO APIs, http POST is initiated by the MMG and directed to the External Application.
This document defines the APIs, their parameters, and return values. Note that parameter names are case sensitive. Also, none of the parameter values that are passed in should contain the pipe “|” character. The standard HTTP encoding rules must be used when passing text as parameters.
