  • VueStar Manual
  • VueStar™ is the only complete global aerial survey navigation system. VueStar™ delivers precision navigation by combining NavCom’s leading edge, dual frequency GPS receiver with NavCom’s StarFire™ Network, a Global Satellite Based Augmentation System (GSBAS). The VueStar™ system, equipped with a single FAA certified tri-band antenna that receives both GPS and StarFire™ signals, provides decimeter navigation in real-time without the need for local base stations. The VueStar™ aerial survey package is the only system of its kind providing a reliable, cost-effective solution for aerial surveyors. Maximizing the advantages of the global StarFire Network, the system eliminates the range limitations of terrestrial communication links as well as the dependency on postprocessing with ground based reference stations. Not only does VueStar™ provide surveyors with the ability to return customer surveys in days rather than weeks, but it also frees ground based survey crews to work on other projects. The VueStar™ package comes complete with NavCom’s SF-2050M dual frequency receiver, all necessary cabling, a combined GPS/StarFire™ FAA certified aircraft antenna, StarPac™ Utility Software, a one-year global StarFire™ license, as well as detailed installation manuals and user guides. An optional event latch interface can be purchased, which will allow greater connectivity between the VueStar™ receiver and Photogrammetry cameras. Download pdf VueStar Manual

  • Which database is more secure? Oracle vs. Microsoft
  • This paper will examine the differences between the security posture of Microsoft’s SQL Server and Oracle’s RDBMS based upon flaws reported by external security researchers and since fixed by the vendor in question. Only flaws affecting the database server software itself have been considered in compiling this data so issues that affect, for example, Oracle Application Server have not been included. The sources of information used whilst compiling the data that forms the basis of this document include: The Microsoft Security Bulletins web page The Oracle Security Alerts web page The CVE website at Mitre. The SecurityFocus.com website A general comparison is made covering Oracle 8, 9 and 10 against SQL Server 7, 2000 and 2005. The vendors’ flagship database servers are then compared. he two graphs above show the number of security flaws in the Oracle and Microsoft database servers that have been discovered and fixed since December 2000 until November 2006. Each block represents a single issue with the sole exception of the single block in Q2 2005 of the Microsoft graph. This represents Service Pack 4 and whilst there are no related security bulletins or bugs listed on bugtraq the author felt it worthy of inclusion. Download pdf Which database is more secure? • AutoCAD LT 2007 Tutorial
  • Learning to use a CAD system is similar to learning a new language. We need to begin with the basic alphabet and learn how to use the basic alphabet correctly and effectively through practice. This will require learning some new concepts and skills as well as learning a different vocabulary. All CAD systems create designs using basic geometric entities. Most of the constructions used in technical designs are based upon two-dimensional planar geometry. The method and number of operations that are required to accomplish the construction are different from one system to another. In order to become effective in using a CAD system, we must learn to create geometric entities quickly and accurately. In learning to use a CAD system, lines and circles are the first two, and perhaps the most important two, geometric entities that we need to master the skills in creating and modifying. Straight lines and circles are used in almost all technical designs. In examining the different types of planar geometric entities, we can see that triangles and polygons are planar figures bounded by straight lines. Ellipses and splines can be constructed by connecting arcs with different radii. As we gain some experience in creating lines and circles, similar procedures can be applied to create other geometric entities. In this lesson, we will examine the different ways of creating lines and circles in AutoCAD® LT 2007. Download pdf AutoCAD LT 2007 Tutorial

  • Norton AntiVirus 9.0 for Macintosh User's Guide
  • A computer virus is a parasitic program written intentionally to alter the way your computer operates without your permission or knowledge. A virus attaches copies of itself to other files and, when activated, may damage files, cause erratic system behavior, or display messages. Computer viruses infect System files, or files stored in the System folder that the Macintosh computer uses to start up and documents created by programs with macro capabilities. Mac OS System files include kernel extensions (programs that load into memory when a Macintosh computer is started), and programs like those in Microsoft Office. Some computer viruses are programmed specifically to corrupt programs, delete files, or erase your disk. Macro viruses spread quickly Macros are simple programs that are used to do things such as automate repetitive tasks in a document or make calculations in a spreadsheet. Macros are written in files created by such programs as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Macro viruses are malicious macro programs that are designed to replicate themselves from file to file and can often destroy or change data. Macro viruses can be transferred across platforms and spread whenever you open an infected file. Trojan horses hide their true purposes Trojan horses are programs that appear to serve some useful purpose or provide entertainment, which encourages you to run them. But the program also serves a covert purpose, which may be to damage files or place a virus on your computer. A Trojan horse is not a virus because it does not replicate and spread like a virus.
