Commissioned by the Department of Defense, four computers called nodes were connected using modems, telephone wires and satellites, one each at UCLA, UCSB, Stanford and University of Utah. ARPANet stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. Its purpose was to share information and results of research among the various scientists involved in Department of Defense projects. Each node was specifically designed io be independent of the others in case of that aforementioned world catastrophe.
Meanwhile, the Merit Network was being established between Wayne State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Michigan for the use of its students, faculty and ahimni to access various documents and services such as the weather. This non- defense-related information sharing network is still in service today. in 1971, email was "invented." Ray Tomlinson devised the use of the @ sign to make email possible, it is a program to send messages across a distributed network, it was not as fancy as the programs you are all accustomed to using, but it did the job. Basic to intermediate knowledge of 3DS Max is needed for this tutorial. I will be using 3DS MAX 9 for this tutorial, if you have a different version, your button configuration may be a slightly different. This process will take about 10-30 minutes, depending on your particular skill level.
First, you open MAX and go to the Left view port. I like to maximize the view port that I am working in so I would hit ALT+W.
Ok, now you need to go to the Create tab, select Shapes, and then select Line. Draw a line like I have done in the picture below
Next, go under the Modify tab and open the Modifier List and scroll down until you see Lathe.
When you first apply the Lathe modifier, your line will look really weird. Simply go under the Parameters Menu, and then under the Align sub-menu select Max. To get the shape that we want, while still under the Parameters Menu, change the Degrees to 180.0. Make sure the check box next to Weld Core is selected.
After you do that, you should have something like I do below.

The BA model Falcon represents an investment by Ford in the order of $500 million. The new models offer comprehensive styling, powertrain, suspension, interior and safety related changes, and look set to challenge Holden for sales supremacy in the family car class.
The styling of the new Falcon is a big improvement over the superseded AU series; however, perhaps the most significant upgrade has taken place beneath the skin of the Falcon. Ford has introduced a range of new engine options in the Falcon that includes a 4.0 litre double overhead camshaft (DOHC) six cylinder engine, a turbocharged version of the six and a new 5.4 litre V8 engine. The new engines deliver significantly more power and torque, and thereby offering improved performance across the board for all models in the Falcon range.
The new 5.4 litre V8 engine comes from Ford’s Windsor plant in Canada and is available in a number of different configurations. The standard V8 engine is called the Barra 220. It is a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine with three valves per cylinder that develops 220 kW of power and 470 Nm of torque.
