Renault Motors Today PDFRenault has unveiled its new third generation Clio. The new model will go on sale in October initially as a three-door with the five-door following in January 2006. At 3.99m the new model is longer than the outgoing Clio, and will be available with a choice of petrol or diesel engines. The petrol engine range comprises a 1.2 litre 16V (75hp), a 1.4 litre 16V (98hp) and a 1.6 litre 16V (113hp) unit, while the 1.5 litre dCi diesel engine comes in a choice of three power outputs: 70hp, 86hp and 106hp. Transmissions include a six-speed manual and a robotised ‘quick shift’ gearbox commanded by paddles located behind the steering wheel. Servicing intervals will be every 18,000 miles for petrol-engined versions and every 12,000 miles for diesel-powered cars.

When using ODA, there is no need to know how to connect the database or determine what its schema look like. ODA deployed on the OSCAR Subversion trunk uses Perl modules to connect, update, and query the database. Also, all the database subroutines for the end users are defined in a single Perl module, which is a collection of database subroutines and does the intermediate work between back-end database and OSCAR installation. As the previous paper showed, the old ODA has three problems. First, it can not fully support new features of OSCAR.
Second, its implementation is overly complicated and takes a long time to learn and modify. Finally, its schema was also not well organized: 11 tables among 30 OSCAR tables are not used at all after OSCAR installation creates all the tables and numerous redundant shortcuts make developers confused in deciding what shortcuts should be used. OSCAR, therefore, needed more flexibility and a better organized database schema. The new version of ODA was developed not only to resolve the above chronic problems but also to establish a bridgehead for supporting OSCAR. It allows the OSCAR installer to add new features of the OSCAR sub-projects without modifying the whole OSCAR framework. The new version of ODA also makes it easy to participate in improving the database modules. Since the FBX plugin is not case sensitive, conflicts may occur when merging back using the same letters for a given name (for example: big, Big, BIG are all the same). Use different names. ! Note: When renaming, use the “prefix hierarchy names” (>modify) command in Maya to rename a complete hierarchy. • Do not delete the target models from your scene until the file has been exported in FBX format. The FBX plugin needs these models to export the Blend Shapes. • Use the default options (“Origin:Local”, and “Check topology:On”), except for the deformation order option. In the Advanced tab, use the “Front of chain” and not the “Default” option. • Use only one Blend Shape input per object. Do not use the “Create Blend Shapes” command more than once on the same object. • Generate the Blend Shapes on each geometry separately. Do not use the entire group (like the head group), but instead use each part of the head separately.
Good examples: - Face_base with happy_face_target and sad_face_target - Teeth_base with happy_teeth_target and sad_teeth_target Bad examples: - head_group with head_group_happy and head_group_sad Using the group method will transfer into MOTIONBUILDER, but will generate duplicate Blend Shapes in MOTIONBUILDER.

As a philosophy it describes the intended use of software and methods for its distribution. Depending on your perspective, the concept of OSS is a relatively new idea being only five or ten years old. On the other hand, the GNU Software Project -- a project advocating the distribution of “free” software -- has been operational since the mid ‘80’s. Consequently, the ideas behind OSS have been around longer than you may think. When people think about OSS they often think about “free”, but the term “free” should be equated with freedom, and as such people who use “free” software should be:
1. free to run the software for any purpose
2. free to modify the software to suit their needs
3. free to redistribute of the software gratis or for a fee
4. free to distribute modified versions of the software
Put another way the term “free” should be equated with the Latin word “liberat” meaning to liberate, and not necessarily “gratis” meaning without return made or expected. In the words of Richard Stallman, we should “think of ‘free’ as in ‘free speech,’ not as in ‘free beer.’”
