Adobe Illustrator CS 4 Porting GuideThis document describes how to update your SDK plug-in code and development environments for Adobe® Illustrator® CS4. It details changes in the public API and other aspects of the SDK since the CS3 release.
Introduction
To begin porting, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your system meets the basic requirements specified in “Development platforms” section in Getting Started with Adobe Illustrator CS4 Development.
2. Install the SDK.
3. Examine the documentation, then compile and run the samples.
4. To port your own plug-in projects and code, follow the recommended procedures.
As an architecture improvement, annotation drawing in Illustrator CS4 can now be carried out by the AGM Compositor instead of the GDI and QuickDraw platform APIs.
The following changes were made to the public API.
New AIAnnotatorDrawerSuite
This is the recommended suite to draw annotations in response to an AIAnnotatorMessage.
Annotations using ADMDrawer and AGMSuite are still supported in CS4, but future releases may disallow annotation drawing using platform APIs like GDI/GDI+ on Windows and QuickDraw and Quartz on Mac OS.
New kDrawOnInactiveDocuments flag
As part of the annotation enhancements, plug-ins can now opt-in to receive annotation notifications on inactive documents. Previously, notifications were sent to all documents; now, by default, notifications are sent only to the active document. If the kDrawOnInactiveDocuments flag is set, notifications are sent to all documents.
AIAnnotatorSuite API changes
The following API signatures were changed to accept an AIAnnotatorOptionsFlags type. This type contains flags that determine how an annotator is drawn.
AIAnnotatorSuite::GetAnnotatorOptions
AIAnnotatorSuite::SetAnnotatorOptions

Coarse focus stopper
The coarse focus stopper marks the stage position at which the specimen is in focus by restricting the movement of the coarse focus knob. (Movement of the stage by the fine focus knob is not restricted.)
Once the coarse focus stopper is clamped in place, the coarse focus knob cannot be used to move the stage any higher. In effect, once the coarse focus knob is clamped in place at the focus position, a rough focus can be attained the next time simply by turning the coarse focus knob as far as it will go. This feature is convenient when viewing similar specimens one after another. If the coarse focus stopper is not being used, the coarse focus stopper ring should be loosened as far as it will go (by turning it as far as it will go in the direction opposite to that indicated by the arrow onMaya 7 TutorialThe Maya interface
Now that Maya is running, you first need to understand what you are seeing. There are a lot of items displayed in the Maya user interface. The best way to begin is to learn the fundamental tools and then learn additional tools as you need them. Begin by learning some of the main tools.
The Maya workspace
The Maya workspace is where you conduct most of your work within Maya. The workspace is the central window where your objects and most editor panels appear. When you start Maya for the first time, the workspace displays by default in a perspective window, or panel. There are the other components of the default perspective view panel:
- The panel is labeled persp at the bottom to indicate that you are viewing the Maya scene from a perspective camera view.
- The panel has its own menu bar at the top left corner of the panel. These menus allow you to access tools and functions related to that specific panel.
- The grid is displayed with two heavy lines intersecting at the center of the Maya scene. This central location is called the origin. The origin is the center of Maya's 3D world, and with all object's directional values measured from this location.

Application-level security vulnerabilities are inherent in a Web application’s code, regardless of the technology in which the application is implemented or the security of the Web server and backend database on which it is built. A recent advisory published by Internet Security Systems (see the “Internet Resources” sidebar, p. 44) claims that 11 widely deployed shopping cart applications are vulnerable to a simple attack that lets hackers pur- chase goods for much less than their listed price. Worryingly, the attack does not require particular technical skill; it suffices to save the shopping cart’s HTML confirmation form to disk, use a text editor to modify the price of the goods (stored in a hidden form field), and load the HTML form back into the browser.
Application-level security vulnerabilities are well known, and many articles discuss ways to avoid them. Fixing a single occurrence of a vulnerability is usually easy. However, the massive number of interactions between different components of a dynamic Web site makes application-level security challenging in general. Despite numerous efforts to tighten application-level security through code review and other software engineering practices, many professionally designed Web sites still suffer from serious application-level security holes. This evidence suggests a need for higher-level tools and techniques to address the problem.
Traditionally, the task of preventing unauthorized activity at the application protocol level has been left to network firewalls. Setting up the drawing: Drawing Limits, Zoom All
How big is your site or object? Always consider the real sizes in metres (or mm or whatever) of the overall site, in plan, measuring width then height. (x,y dimensions).
This house is small, we will be thinking in metres, so it should fit into an area of 15mx12m
Pick: Format, Drawing Limits
Accept the lower-left limit < 0.0000, 0.0000 > (Press Enter ¿ ) then type in 15,12¿ to define a new upper-right limit
Pick: View, Zoom, All to stretch to the new limits this has provided you with a drawing area suitable to your project, but it will not stop you extending beyond this area later
Check your status line. POLAR and OSNAP should be active
From the drop-down menus
Pick: Draw, Arc, Start-End-Angle
Pick: point to the endpoint of the line to begin the arc.
Type @4Report Runner Batch Tutorial and DocumentationReport Runner Batch runs on Windows NT, 200x, ME, XP, and Vista. Supports all versions of Crystal Reports. This version includes all of the necessary runtime files. You should still have an Advanced/Developer edition of Crystal Reports 9, 10, or 11 to meet licensing requirements.
The password for the installer is TRIAL. Registered Jeff-Net users may download and install this Batch version for free at any time. You will need to send us your seed key to receive your 90 day TRIAL license, but when you first run JNRRB, while you're waiting on the 90 day trial key, you may use the license of 'TRIAL3' to evaluate the software for a couple of days.
NOTE: If you install on a Citrix or Terminal Server or Servers in general, you must use an ADMIN ID and use Add/Remove Programs to do the install. Otherwise it will not install properly. One additional note about Citrix and Terminal Server environments: We do not limit the amount of batches that you run. In a Citrix/Terminal Server environment, allowing multiple users to randomly schedule batches to run is NOT recommended. This can cause memory issues depending on the size/speed of your server. The Crystal Reports engine uses as much memory as it can get for a given task. We seriously recommend having a Batch ‘admin’ that will handle all the scheduling and running of batches.

Model repositories are central places where all kinds of modeling artifacts (e.g., meta-metamodels, metamodels, models, and possibly transformation models) are stored and coordinated. They can serve as a platform for making available the specification of metamodels to others (typically necessary for domain-specific modeling languages) and for exchanging models, as well as a resource for teaching/learning materials.
There have been started some intiatives for building model repositories, e.g., zoomm.org, www.kermeta.org/mrep, or the Atlas MegaModel Management (AM3) [1]. The latter one is hosted within the popular Eclipse environment and is a subproject of the Generative Modeling Technologies (GMT) project. The artifacts present in this model repository, furthermore, are organized into sets of models of similar nature called zoos, e.g. a zoo for metamodels and a zoo for transformations [4]. The AM3 zoos are continuously growing and provide a respectable source of information in the meantime.
However, a more popular way of storing and organizing modeling artifacts is probably having a CVS like server software at hand. These repositories provide all means necessary to handle different versions of textual artifacts and let them compare syntactically. It seams therefore obvious to use existing tools also to store models as they can be serialized into the XMI format. Although versioning of models remains an open and challenging research field [11, 12], basic support for versioning models can be provided by CVS. CVS repositories can also be
