  • The following settings have to be made in Customizing for Asset Accounting in preparation for the legacy data transfer (choose Asset Data Transfer): · Decide on the transfer date and the transfer options for each company code and/or depreciation area. · Specify the sequence in which the depreciation areas are to be supplied with values. It makes sense to arrange the depreciation areas so that those areas with values that are not, or only partially, calculated by the system, appear first on the screen in dialog transactions. · If you are using a year-dependent fiscal year version, you also have to carry out the following steps. For all historical fiscal years, from the capitalization year of your oldest asset minus 1, up to the current fiscal year, you have to · Maintain the calendar date assignments for the fiscal year variant (in Customizing for Financial Accounting). · Generate the depreciation period controls for Asset Accounting (in Customizing for Asset Accounting, choose Periodic processing). • EXPERT RIGGING IN MAYA
  • Tentacled appendages have been around as long as weird creatures in movies and comic books have existed. But creating the proper movement, and getting the right look, is deceptively difficult. Mechanical tentacles such as the sentinels from the Matrix series, or like Doc Ock’s in Spider-Man 2, are particularly challenging. This tutorial walks you through setting up a character with tentacles, and should give you a good idea of the general approach to take. Part of working in CG is the ability to push the limits of reality – mechanised parts can be exaggerated to stretch and reach further than possible, or be squashed like a slinky – if set up properly, they can do anything you like. Michael Ingrassia, from Escape Studios in London, has provided us with a cartoony character with tentacles to rig and animate. I’m assuming you’re already familiar enough with Maya that you can rig a complete character without a problem, so we’ll be focusing on the tentacles and claws – how they attach to the body, and how all the parts work together to help bring the character to life. The character rig is very basic, so if you’re trying to do anything fancy, you’ll probably need to add more to it. We’ll walk through a spline IK-type setup in Maya. Maya has a very intuitive and powerful IK solver and its spline abilities function well when set up properly. There are no FK controls for the tentacles, although I would usually provide that to the

  • Basic Database Terminology Many relational database concepts are really quite simple. In fact, much of the appeal of relational databases stems from the simplicity of their foundational concepts. Structural Terminology Within the database world, MySQL is classified as a relational database management system (RDBMS). That phrase breaks down as follows: • The database (the “DB” in RDBMS) is the repository for the information you want to store, structured in a simple, regular fashion: o The collection of data in a database is organized into tables. o Each table is organized into rows and columns. o Each row in a table is a record. o Records can contain several pieces of information; each column in a table corresponds to one of those pieces. • The management system (the “MS”) is the software that lets you use your data by allowing you to insert, retrieve, modify, or delete records. • The word “relational” (the “R”) indicates a particular kind of DBMS, one that is very good at relating (that is, matching up) information stored in one table to information stored in another by looking for elements common to each of them. The power of a relational DBMS lies in its capability to pull data from those tables conveniently and to join information from related tables to produce answers to questions that can’t be answered from individual tables alone. • Testing the new Audi A4 Quattro, we were passing a long line of traffic bottled … Audi A4 Quattro it was just another day. at the office. Content inside this Audi A4 2.0T WE’RE REMINDED THAT all-wheel drive isn’t just for getting up a snowy driveway in wintertime. Testing the new Audi A4 Quattro, we were passing a long line of traffic bottled up behind a truck on a two-lane highway. No worries until we came abreast of an SUV shuffling along immediately behind the 18-wheeler. As we drew alongside, without warning the driver simply yanked his vehicle into the left lane to pass. Accelerating hard, we flicked the Audi far onto the left shoulder, the two right wheels barely remaining on the pavement, and simply drove around the sport-ute, completing the pass without drama. Apart from solid whacks as the left wheels hit deep craters on the dirt shoulder and a shotgun blast of gravel peppering the floorpan, the episode was over in momentsand barely noticeable. That’s the advantage of having all four wheels pulling for you, backed by a world-class Electronic Stability Control system. Even in the hands of an expert driver, a front- or rear-drive… Download Audi A4 Manual

  • Virtools: How to create interactive textures and an orbital camera
  • This tutorial shows how to create behaviors for interactive textures: scrolling, blending textures on the faces of a cube. We will work on one face of the cube with its specific material-shader and one texture “mountain.jpg”. Part 4 of this tutorial covers setting up an orbital camera. Part 1- In Maya, exporting a cube with textures Before exporting to Virtools, make sure that all faces inside the cube have their normals facing towards the inside of the cube. Go to Modeling, Display > Polygon Components > Normals Normals are represented with colored lines sticking out of the faces of the cube. The red arrow shows the way one normal should look like. The red arrow indicates a normal that needs to be reversed. Go to Modeling, Edit Polygons > Normals > Reverse Creating a database Resource folder: Open Virtools and create a Resource database, go to Resource > create New Data Resource Folder, name of your choice and save in the location of your choice. Virtools automatically creates a Resource.rsc file and a Resource folder which contains several subfolders. The file called Resource.rsc is used to open the database Resource folder in Virtools. This folder is independent from the composition that you will later create in Virtools. It can be used to exchange assets between projects.
