Car Paint Shader in MayaIn this tutorial I will show you how to build a Car paint shader in Maya. Though this tutorial is for Maya, you may use similar concepts in other packages as well. The terms may be different. To create a car paint shader we will be using a layered shader. There will be two layers in this shader, one for the color and the other for the reflections and highlights. Think of it in terms of a real car paint. You have a base color and on top of it a clear coat which adds the gloss to the paint
First off, open the Hypershade window (Windows -> Rendering Editors -> Hypershade). You will notice that by default you have three shaders in the Materials panel. These are the default Maya ones.
Under the create tab click on Lambert. This will create a new Lambert shader in the Materials tab and also under the workarea. The reason for choosing Lambert over Blinn is that we do not need any specular highlights. So instead of creating a Blinn and turning off specularity, I created a Lambert which does not have any specular highlights. Now double click on the “lambert2” shader in the work area or hit CTRL+A to open the Attribute Editor. First off rename the shader to something more meaningful, like “paint_color”. Remember assigning proper names to materials can save a lot of headache in the long run. So do it!

A Virtual Home Page (VHP) is a fast, simple, and inexpensive way to put your lodge on the Internet. Just submit a few simple online forms, and you’ll have an effective web presence within the Grand Lodge web site, http://www.elks.org. What kind of information can we post on our lodge Virtual Home Page? Each Virtual Home Page includes space for: • Lodge News.
Post your newsletter on the Internet! With your Virtual Home Page, you can publish your news immediately - no more waiting for printers or the U.S. Post Office. Even better, your news will available to all of Elkdom - not just the folks on your mailing list. • Lodge Facilities. Do you have a lounge? Restaurant? RV Hookups? Golf Course? Post your facilities on your Virtual Home Page and they’ll become a part of our searchable databases so traveling Elks can find the services they need when they’re on the road. • Lodge Officers. Publish your lodge directory online. Each directory listing can (optionally) include a name, spouse, current office, past offices, address, telephone number, and email address.

In this paper we analyze Microsoft’s Windows NT implementation of PPTP. We show how to break both the challenge/response authentication protocol (Microsoft CHAP) and the RC4 encryption protocol (MPPE), as well as how to attack the control channel in Microsoft’s implementation. These attacks do not necessarily break PPTP, but only Microsoft’s implementation of the protocol.
Many organizations and institutions are not centralized. Branch offices, virtual corporations, and traveling employees make the notion of running dedicated network connections to each location logistically impossible. The concept of virtual networking provides a solution to this problem by tunneling cojoined network space over other, transitory and insecure, networks (such as the Internet), thus enabling remote locations to appear to be local. This is done without the expense incurred from running leased lines or dedicated cabling to each location, and is sometimes called a “tunnel.”
While virtual networks solve the problem of de- centralized machines, they create a new problem. They open up traffic that was previously considered internal to the company, to any prying eyes on the networks it traverses. Authentication and encryption are required to keep this virtual network traffic not only tamperproof but private. The result, virtual networking connections combined with cryptographic protections, is a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
The security of a VPN is based on the security of its authentication and encryption protocols. If a VPN’s cryptography is weak, then its security is no better than a non-private virtualAsus AAM6000EV ADSL Modem Owners ManualFeatures Software Upgrade 2. Mandriva Linux Services Mandriva Linux 2007 Services Glossary In 1983, Richard Stallman founded the GNU Project, with the goal of developing a complete Unix-like operating system composed entirely of free software. By the beginning of the 1990s, GNU had produced or collected most of the necessary components of this system except for the core component, the kernel. In 1991, the Linux kernel was created as a hobby by Finnish university student Linus Torvalds.
A typical general-purpose distribution includes: . the Linux kernel, . some GNU libraries and tools, . command-line shells, . the graphical X Window ® system, . and an accompanying desktop environment such as KDE or GNOME, . several applications for office, multimedia, development or server needs.

Antiquated manual switches have given way to intelligent devices, which boast new features that increase reliability and productivity. system. Another feature you might want to consider is the KVM switch’s ability to pass a high-resolution video signal without signal degradation.
With so many KVM choices available, you can narrow your options by deciding how many devices you need to switch among, how many concurrent users you need to connect (and the distance of those users from the main console), and the maximum video resolution you’ll use. Most devices employ programmable hot keys for switching, but make sure that the device you select has at least one key sequence that doesn’t conflict with another function in your organization. If you need to support many systems, you’ll most likely need to cascade multiple KVM switches. In that case, look at how clean the cascading process is for both implementation and operation. In addition to the device’s features, you need to consider form factor, cable quality, and ease of use..

This allows the user to create very large, complex, macro-level simulation models by connecting together many smaller, easily understandable, micro-level “building block” models. In this simple tutorial, we will show you how to use the Water Resource Planning SimBRIX.
INSTALLING THE WATER RESOURCE PLANNING SimBRIX:
Before you install the Water Resource SimBRIX, you must make sure you have already installed the SimBLOX application. If you have not done so, refer to the documentation included with the SimBLOX application for instructions on how to properly install it, or if you do not have the SimBLOX software, please contact us. Our contact information is available at the end of this tutorial.
After you have verified that SimBLOX is installed SimBLOX, double-click the file called “setup.exe” to begin the installation of the Water Resource SimBRIX. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. Once the installation is completed you will then need to open SimBLOX to access the Water Resource Planning SimBRIX.
The current version only works on IBM-compatible PC’s running Windows 2000, XP or Vista with the .NET 2.0 Framework installed. The .NET 2.0 Framework is available as a free download from Microsoft. Please visit the resources page on the viaSim website (www.viasimcorp.com) for a link to download this software directly from the Microsoft website.

It details changes in the public API and other aspects of the SDK since the CS3 release.
Introduction
To begin porting, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your system meets the basic requirements specified in “Development platforms” section in Getting Started with Adobe Illustrator CS4 Development.
2. Install the SDK.
3. Examine the documentation, then compile and run the samples.
4. To port your own plug-in projects and code, follow the recommended procedures.
As an architecture improvement, annotation drawing in Illustrator CS4 can now be carried out by the AGM Compositor instead of the GDI and QuickDraw platform APIs.
The following changes were made to the public API.
New AIAnnotatorDrawerSuite
This is the recommended suite to draw annotations in response to an AIAnnotatorMessage.
Annotations using ADMDrawer and AGMSuite are still supported in CS4, but future releases may disallow annotation drawing using platform APIs like GDI/GDI+ on Windows and QuickDraw and Quartz on Mac OS.
New kDrawOnInactiveDocuments flag
As part of the annotation enhancements, plug-ins can now opt-in to receive annotation notifications on inactive documents. Previously, notifications were sent to all documents; now, by default, notifications are sent only to the active document. If the kDrawOnInactiveDocuments flag is set, notifications are sent to all documents.
AIAnnotatorSuite API changes
The following API signatures were changed to accept an AIAnnotatorOptionsFlags type. This type contains flags that determine how an annotator is drawn.
AIAnnotatorSuite::GetAnnotatorOptions
AIAnnotatorSuite::SetAnnotatorOptions
