  • Google Sitemaps – A Primer
  • Google recently launched a service that allows webmasters to feed Google pages they would like to have indexed. Up till now, webmasters had no control over what pages Google crawled. Webmasters could only submit their homepage to Google and hope that Google would crawl through links to find the rest of their web site. Google’s new service, Google Sitemaps, provides webmasters with a method to inform Google exactly which pages they want crawled, how often these pages change, and the order that these pages should be crawled. Stop waiting. Whether your web site contains a single web page or millions of pages, Google Sitemaps are useful for any business with a web site. If you want Google to crawl more of your web pages or you want to be able to tell Google when your web pages change, then you should be using Google Sitemaps. Google Sitemaps are particularly beneficial for parts of a web site that cannot be reached by Google’s crawler. For instance, dynamic elements behind a search form are particularly notorious hard for Google to index. Why wait for Google to find your web site? Instead of waiting around, get your content indexed faster by telling Google where to look with Google Sitemaps. Get Started. There are only two steps to participate in Google Sitemaps: 1. Create a Google Sitemap 2. Submit the Sitemap A Google Sitemap is an XML file that follows the Google Sitemap Protocol. The Google Sitemap contains a list of URLs and may also contain information about those URLs such as

  • Basic Function of BMW Vanos System Manual PDF
  • All BMW VANOS systems are operated through electric/hydraulic/mechanical control. Electric Control: The engine control module is responsible for activating a VANOS solenoid valve based on DME program mapping. The activation parameters are influenced by the following input signals: • Engine speed • Load (intake air mass) • Engine temperature • Camshaft position • Oil temperature (MS 42.0 only) Depending on the specific VANOS system, the solenoid valve is one of two types: • Basic black/white (on/off) solenoid valve. Found on M50 TU and M52 engines. • Variable position solenoid valve. Found on the M52 TU and M62 TU engines. Hydraulic Control: The position of the solenoid valve directs the hydraulic flow of engine oil. The controlled oil flow acts on the mechanical components of VANOS system to position the camshaft. Mechanical Control: The mechanical components of all VANOS systems operate under the same principle. • Practice and Review Activities CD-ROM User's Guide
  • The Reading Mastery Signature Edition Practice and Review Activities software is an optional component of SRA’s Direct Instruction Reading Mastery program. The successful use of the print program does not depend in any way upon the supplemental software. The purpose of the supplemental software is to provide students with the opportunity to play educational games that directly reinforce some of the major skills taught in Reading Mastery. For example, the software that accompanies the kindergarten level of Reading Mastery has three types of games. In one game, a computer character says a word and the student chooses the printed word from a set that appears on the screen. The words in this game come directly from Reading Mastery, and utilize the same specialized orthography. In the vocabulary game from the second-grade level of the program, students match vocabulary words with definitions, again based upon the vocabulary instruction in Reading Mastery. Students can also play a powerful comprehension game that provides reinforcement to students for remembering what they have read. The passages used in that game, of course, also come from the Reading Mastery program. The software includes an easy-to-use management system for making assignments to students and viewing or printing student records. Games are organized according to your progress in Reading Mastery Signature Edition. Games should be assigned only after students have demonstrated mastery of the content at any given point in the print program. For example, the management system shows that one of the comprehension games in the fourth-grade level of
  • Web 2.0 and learning
  • What is surprising is the dominance of Web and Web 2.0 brands. The verb ‘to google’ is now in most major English dictionaries and Google is easily the most popular access point for Web 2.0 services. It also displays all the characteristics of a Web 2.0 company by, for example, buying blogger.com, one of the largest blog services companies in the world. User-driven blogging is one of the primary examples of Web 2.0 services. Google also supports a raft of easy to use Web 2.0 tools such as Google Earth, Google Calendar, Google Sketch, Writely and so on. Apple has transformed itself into a Web 2.0 company by changing focus away from computers to iPods, iTunes and iPhones. It fuelled podcasting, a major feature of Web 2.0 user-driven content, with the astoundingly popular iPod and iTunes. Podcasting is typical of a bottom-up Web 2.0 phenomenon. The distribution of simple audio files has proved to be an enduring feature of easy to create content. It has also transformed the music industry turning its traditional offline media model on its head. YouTube is as Web 2.0 as it gets. Users upload and share videos in their millions. Each video has a discussion forum and content can be used in blogs and other contexts. Started in 2005 and bought by our brand leader Google for $1.65 billion in 2006.
