When you connect the computer to an electrical outlet or install a battery while the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the computer checks the battery charge and temperature. If necessary, the AC adapter then charges the battery and maintains the battery charge. If the battery is hot from being used in your computer or being in a hot environment, the battery may not charge when you connect the computer to an electrical outlet.
The battery is too hot to start charging if the battery light flashes alternately blue and amber. Disconnect the computer from the electrical outlet and allow the computer and the battery to cool to room temperature, then connect the computer to an electrical outlet to continue charging the battery. For more information about resolving problems with a battery, see “Power Problems” on page 118. Replacing the Battery CAUTION: Using an incompatible battery may increase the risk of fire or explosion. Replace the battery only with a compatible battery purchased from Dell. The battery is designed to work with your Dell computer. Do not use batteries from other computers with your computer. 1. Applying Microsoft Patches with Task Scheduler Pro
The MSBlast worm, also called the RPC/DCOM vulnerability, requires that you install a specific version of the patch for each platform you are patching. Task Scheduler Pro allows enables you to copy the appropriate platform specific patch to each of your systems, execute the patch in an unattended manner, and reboot the systems remotely without any further action on your part. Task Scheduler Pro allows administrators to deploy patches across their enterprise much faster than distribution systems like Microsoft SMS. Patch tasks can be created on all of your systems simultaneously, and they begin executing on your systems almost immediately. In a virus outbreak situation, speed is essential.
2. Preparation - Download Patches
First download the patches you will need from the Microsoft web site and store them in a common and convenient location on your local machine. Task Scheduler Pro will copy these files to your systems. The following section provides lists of file names and specific links to the Microsoft web site to download each patch. For the sake of easy installation, these should be all stored in a common location on your local workstation.

It replaces the old Gtk+-1.2 Gtk-CList and GtkCTree widgets. Even though GtkTreeView is slightly harder to master than its predecessors, it is so much more powerful and flexible that most application developers will not want to miss it once they have come to know it.
The purpose of this chapter is not to provide an exhaustive documentation of GtkTreeView - that is what the API documentation is for, which should be read alongside with this tutorial. The goal is rather to present an introduction to the most commonly-used aspects of GtkTreeView, and to demonstrate how the various GtkTreeView components and concepts work together. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to shed some light on custom tree models and custom cell renderers, which seem to be often-mentioned, but rarely explained.
Developers looking for a quick and dirty introduction that teaches them everything they need to know in less than five paragraphs will not find it here. In the author’s experience, developers who do not understand how the tree view and the models work together will run into problems once they try to modify the given examples, whereas developers who have worked with other toolkits that employ the Model/View/Controller-design will find that the API reference provides all the information they need to know in more condensed form anyway. Those who disagree may jump straight to the working example code of course.

It allows standard serial data terminals (DTEs), such as personal computers, to be interconnected across the ISDN. The CONNECT is as easy to install and use as a modem and will operate with all existing terminals and communications applications that use the Hayes Standard AT Command Set. In addition, the CONNECT has an analogue interface port that emulates a standard PSTN line. This port allows devices such as a phone, fax, or answer-phone to make calls over your ISDN line. An ISDN connection provides three potential communications channels.
Two (’B') Channels provide links running at 64000 bps which give greater throughput than the fastest modem. These ‘B’ Channel links support calls to other ISDN lines or (for voice calls) other PSTN analogue lines. The third link is a lower speed ‘D’ Channel data link, that allows calls to be made to a third party data network such as a public packet switch network. It is possible to have several ISDN devices sharing a single ISDN line through a facility known as the ‘S’ Bus. This allows all the connected devices to contend for the channels and to be separately addressable. The CONNECT range supports all these ISDN services. An ISDN line can support ‘data’ and ‘voice’ calls. In general ‘data’ calls are those made from the CONNECT’s data port. ‘Voice’ calls are calls made from the CONNECT’s analogue port.
