download pdfUnit Testing with Silverlight 2Test-driven development is something that every developer can appreciate once they?ve tried it, and something that I?ve worked hard to enable for Silverlight with the release of the controls source. Scott Guthrie previously posted about the Silverlight 2 Beta 1 release, with a First Look at Silverlight 2 post followed by the First Look at Using Expression Blend with Silverlight 2. If we could take the same application from the Blend post & create a set of unit tests for the components in the app, it would pay dividends once we start adding new features or working with other developers on the project.
If you?d like to hear more about any part of the framework, let me know in the comments and I?ll come back with that information. Previous posts that may be helpful if you don?t have time to complete this tutorial today: a video walkthrough of the control unit tests, and a quick introduction to the unit testing bits with download locations and installation instructions.
Test support for Silverlight
At MIX we released source code to the controls, unit tests, and we including a unit test framework that runs in the web browser using Silverlight on the Mac and PC. The Microsoft.Silverlight.Testing framework is simple, easy-to-use, and will give developers yet another way to increase their productivity and application quality.

Although Access has templates and “wizards” to help you easily set up a database that can suit simple purposes, it can also run extremely advanced functions. This handout is intended to introduce new users to the basic functions of Access.
What is a database? Before we start on the construction of a practice database, we should review the basic concepts of database design. It is important to thoroughly plan your database before you begin its construction to guarantee that your database will work correctly.
Concepts and Terms
Access allows you to create a database of information in which data values are stored in fields. A collection of fields makes a record, and a group of records makes a table.
- A database is a collection of related data that is stored in one or more tables.
- A table is a collection of related information stored in rows and columns. The power of Access is that it allows you to link data together even if it resides in separate tables.
- A field is a column of a table that contains a category of information.
- A record is all of the fields for one particular object – such as a person’s last name, first name, and telephone number would comprise a record.
- A data value is the smallest unit of information. A key to success with Access is to store data in the smallestExtracting A Background from an Image Using Photoshop CS2's Extraction ToolThis is tutorial #2 in the series for changing or removing backgrounds. This method uses the extraction tool available in Photoshop CS2 (I'm not sure if it's available in Photoshop CS, but it won't be available in any version prior to this). Unfortunately, unless other softwares contain this tool (I don't know of any that do), the tutorial will only be geared to those who own Photoshop CS2 upwards.
This method removes the background from the image, rather than removing the image to a new background.
To begin, open your photo and locate your extraction filter - it can be found under "filter" in the menu (Select "Filter", then Extract) and open it up. This filter will not work on 16-bit images, so if you've opened a raw file, you'll need to change the mode to 8-bit (select "image", then "mode", then select 8-bit).
On the left are a series of tools - the first one is the "highlighter" for drawing around the areas you want to keep; the second is the paint bucket fill, next is an eraser, an eyedropper, two masking tools, and magnifying glass (for zooming in and out) and the hand tool (for moving your image around within the filter).
On the right are some options you can set: tool options are the brush size, the highlight color and the fill color, as well as a box for "smart highlighting". Smart highlighting works best on high contrast images with sharp edges, but not so well on other types of images.Microsoft Exchange ConnectorThe Microsoft Exchange connector allows users to index Microsoft Exchange content. By using a unique special administrative account, all the mailboxes and public folders can be indexed.
Features
The Microsoft Exchange connector can be used to index mailboxes. It allows Coveo Enterprise Search (CES) to crawl and index the content of a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or 2007 installation. Furthermore, it offers a more efficient search than Microsoft Exchange’s built-in search components.
Feature List
The following details the features available in the Microsoft Exchange connector:
- Mailbox indexing
- Public Folder indexing
- Security: CES indexes security by combining Microsoft Exchange permissions set in Microsoft Exchange by users and Active Directory by administrators.
- Live indexing: Allows the connector to periodically query Microsoft Exchange for the latest edits, keeping the index content up to date.
- The Microsoft Exchange connector collects a maximum of metadata for emails, contacts, tasks and calendars.
- The Microsoft Exchange connector supports form-based authentication, which should be used when the OWA server is configured to use it. Two types of form-based authentications are supported:
- Standard Exchange Form Based Authentication
- ISA Server Form Based Authentication

There are many variations of each major class of software method, which renders the number of software methods in the hundreds. This short history contains a brief synopsis of each of the 32 major classes of software methods, identifying the decade and year they appeared, their purpose, their major tenets, their strengths, and their weaknesses. The year each software method appeared corresponds to the seminal work that introduced the method based on extensive bibliographic research and the strengths and weaknesses were based on scholarly and empirical works to provide an objective capstone for each method.
The 1960s were a defining period for the world of computers giving rise to what we now know as mainframe computers (Solomon, 1966). Think of mainframe computers as building-sized calculators, most of which can now fit in your shirt pocket and are versatile enough to run on sunlight. Of course, these mainframe computers gave rise to large scale operating systems requiring hundreds of expert programmers to produce over many years (Needham and Hartley, 1969). More importantly, high-level computer programming languages such as the Common Business Oriented Language or COBOL were created to help humans communicate with these building-sized calculators and instruct them to perform useful functions more easily (Sammet, 1962). The creation of these mainframes, their operating systems, and their high-level COBOL computer programming languages caused the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO to form a new technicalMotorola C330 WAP SettingsMotorola C330 WAP Settings.
