  • Design Compiler Reference Manual: Optimization and Timing Analysis
  • Pipelining is a technique commonly used to increase the throughput of designs that have deep levels of logic to meet high sampling rate requirements. The pipelining technique partitions blocks of combinational logic into n stages of equal delays, with the stages separated by banks of pipeline registers. Register balancing improves the performance of the pipeline design, by moving the registers through combinational logic, adding additional registers as needed, to reduce the clock period. In this chapter, you will learn about the following: • Basic Concepts • Considering Input and Output Delays • Handling Designs Having Hierarchy • Enabling Register Balancing • Inserting Pipeline Registers in a Design • Hints and Restrictions • Resetting Flip-Flops • Replacing Flip-Flops This chapter includes example methods of inserting the pipeline registers in a design through HDL and a script to convert simple flip-flops to asynchronously reset flip-flops. • 3Ds Max Tutorial: Create Table Lamp
  • We are going to create a table lamp with lines and lathe in 3ds max. Go to Create>Shapes>Line. 1 In the Splines rollout set Initial Type to smooth and Drag type to bezier. In the left viewport draw a line similar to below. Go to Modifiers>Patch/Spline Modeling>Lathe. Don’t worry if you’re lamp base looks similar to below. In the Modifiers rollout click the plus sign next to Lathe and then click on Axis. Move the axis until you get a nice shape. You may have to turn on Flip Normals. In the Modifier List set the Segments to 32. Once you have the segments set you object will change in appearance a slight amount. What that does is add segments which smooth your object. Compare the difference between the top and bottom images below. Download PDF for 3Ds Max Tutorial: Create Table Lamp
  • Automating JMP
  • The purpose of this paper is to provide information on getting started with automating JMP® 6 using C# .NET. This document discusses how to automate the more common tasks involved in analyzing data such as how to create a data table, run an analysis, display options within the analysis, select portions of the analysis report, and save results to a file. The final section describes the interface between automation and the JMP Scripting Language (JSL). This paper does not discuss how to setup a project or create forms. The code provided was written using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. How to Create a Data Table There are several methods for creating a JMP data table. • Open a file with a known extension. • Open a table within a database. • Open a text file. • Create the table from scratch. • Generic HTML Form Processor: PHP script to save Web-collected data into a MySQL database
  • The customizable PHP script Generic HTML Form Processor is intended to assist researchers and students in quickly setting up surveys and experiments that can be administered via the Web. This script relieves researchers from the burdens of writing new cGi scripts and building databases for each Web study. Generic HTML Form Processor processes any syntactically correct HTML form input and saves it into a dynamically created open-source database. We describe five modes for usage of the script that allow increasing functionality but require increasing levels of knowledge of PHP and Web servers: The first two modes require no previous knowledge, and the fifth requires PHP programming expertise. use of Generic HTML Form Processor is free for academic purposes, and its Web address is www.goeritz.net/brmic. There are other advantages of Web research. On the Web, people can be tested at any time and place, laboratory rooms or physically present experimenters are not necessary (so experimenter effects remain constant), and automated data handling reduces both the labor and error of data coding and entry (Birnbaum & Reips, 2005; Göritz & Schumacher, 2000). In addition, the Web method allows one to collect large samples inexpensively, which makes it possible to draw clear conclusions and to check their generality to different subsamples tested (Birnbaum, 1999; Reips, 2002). An example of an HTML Web form is given in Birnbaum (2000). Such an HTML page can be placed on a server, where the participant can view it and fill in answers by typing in information and clicking on

  • Moujou 1.0 Reference and Tutorial Guide Manual
  • Moujou is a plug-in for Maya which allows you to access the powerful automatic tracking of boujou from within the Maya workspace. It is very easy to use – just load your image sequence and click on the ‘Track it’ button. The results will be delivered straight into your current scene using standard Maya components and there is no need for any further refinements before the track is useable. Image-based masks can be imported to guide the tracking. They can be used to hide areas of the image that may be causing problems, or to help track moving objects such as cars or trucks. Any black and white image can be used as a mask. Camera path smoothing is also available to fix any spikes or noise in the camera path. Moujou does not have the extensive tool set of the standalone versions of boujou, but it uses the same fast and accurate feature tracker and the same robust camera solver as its standalone brothers. If tracking your shot requires the manual intervention tools of bullet or boujou three then you can export your work as a boujou project file and continue working on it in either of these packages. moujou can only track fixed focal length shots. • Addendum to Users Manual Ranger Wedge Interface
  • A laptop computer contains an integrated keyboard whereas a desktop computer uses an external keyboard. When using a desktop computer with a scanner that is designed to emulate keyboard input, the scanner is wedged into the cable that connects the external keyboard to the computer (hence, the term wedge scanner). Since a laptop keyboard is internal, there is no cable accessible to use a standard wedge connection for a scanner. However, most laptops make provision for an external keyboard via a separate keyboard connector (or port). Since the scanner connections to the laptop are different from the connections to a desktop computer, the scanner must be programmed specifically to operate as an external keyboard device. This is accomplished by using the programming codes on page 9. Download pdf Addendum to Users Manual Ranger Wedge Interface

  • In this guide we have designed a user-friendly step-by-step instructional format that will assist you in making your computer network ready. We have utilized diagrams and screen simulations to make the installation process as easy as possible. However, if after following these directions you continue to encounter difficulty in connecting to the network please call the University Help Desk. These instructions only apply to newer Macintoshes which are running OS X. “X” is just the Roman numeral ten, “OS X” is pronounced “OS Ten.” These instructions are for all versions of OS 10.0 and above. If you are running an operating system prior to OS X and require assistance please call the University Help Desk. ACTIVATING YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION ON CAMPUS To use the network you will need an Ethernet connection cable, an Internet browser (Internet Explorer comes preinstalled with OS X). MAC SETUP To make your computer network ready please follow the instructions below. 1) Go to the Apple menu and launch “System Preferences...” as shown below: Note: The Apple Menu stays the same no matter what program you’re using. 2) Click NETWORK from the “Internet & Network” list. 3) Select “Built-in-Ethernet” from the Show pull down list (see illustration below). 4) Select “Using DHCP server” from the Configure pull-down list.
