  • AutoCAD LT 2007 Tutorial
  • Learning to use a CAD system is similar to learning a new language. We need to begin with the basic alphabet and learn how to use the basic alphabet correctly and effectively through practice. This will require learning some new concepts and skills as well as learning a different vocabulary. All CAD systems create designs using basic geometric entities. Most of the constructions used in technical designs are based upon two-dimensional planar geometry. The method and number of operations that are required to accomplish the construction are different from one system to another. In order to become effective in using a CAD system, we must learn to create geometric entities quickly and accurately. In learning to use a CAD system, lines and circles are the first two, and perhaps the most important two, geometric entities that we need to master the skills in creating and modifying. Straight lines and circles are used in almost all technical designs. In examining the different types of planar geometric entities, we can see that triangles and polygons are planar figures bounded by straight lines. Ellipses and splines can be constructed by connecting arcs with different radii. As we gain some experience in creating lines and circles, similar procedures can be applied to create other geometric entities. In this lesson, we will examine the different ways of creating lines and circles in AutoCAD® LT 2007. Download pdf AutoCAD LT 2007 Tutorial

  • Illustrated Roadmap for Macintosh GQMac Web
  • This Illustrated Roadmap was designed to help the Computer Coordinator customize GradeQuick for their school and for teachers to make further customizations that will affect only their files. The Illustrated Roadmap will also assist teachers through various GradeQuick features and will serve as an easy reference to guide teachers through the school year using GradeQuick. Customizing Your Gradebook Successful use of GradeQuick begins with setting GradeQuick features to correspond with your school/district policies or your personal user preferences. Technology coordinators can set global settings for all teachers to use and then allow teachers to further establish their own settings. All features can be set globally by the GradeQuick administrator and then further customized by the individual teachers or the feature can be restricted with the Jackson Software supplemental program called SiteManager. More information on global settings can be found in the Site License notebook. Please consider setting the following GradeQuick features prior to entering grades in GradeQuick. Keep in mind that as a teacher your technology coordinator/GradeQuick administrator may have already set some of these settings for your use. GradeScale Numeric Grades Grading Symbols Score Footnotes Student Data Field Names Attendance Start Dates Attendance Codes Vacation Dates Weighting Grading Preferences After you have customized your chosen features in one gradebook be sure to follow the directions on the last page of this section to copy the features to your other gradebooks. • C# Series: Basic Calculator
  • This section will introduce you to the Complete Programs tutorial series, the tutorial, creating the project, and adding controls. This project is meant for beginners, so the program will not be as complicated as the others. The program will be similar to the basic calculator in windows. The C# Complete Program tutorials, similar to the XNA Complete Games, cover programs from start to finish. We start off with a very simple program, and get more advanced as we go. This program is a very simple calculator. We will cover a very abstract way to handle button presses and operations. It is time to get started! Open Visual Studio 2008 (or the express editions) and create a new C# Windows Forms Application called “BasicCalculatorTutorial”. The first thing you need to do is change the dimensions of the window to something a bit wider. Change the Size property of the form to a new dimension. I used the following: 350, 277. Change the Text property of the form to identify the program, “BasicCalculator”. You can rename Form1.cs if you wish; I will not do that in the tutorial. This will be our base window, and we will add new controls in part 3. Download pdf C# Series: Basic Calculator
  • Web 2.0 and learning
  • What is surprising is the dominance of Web and Web 2.0 brands. The verb ‘to google’ is now in most major English dictionaries and Google is easily the most popular access point for Web 2.0 services. It also displays all the characteristics of a Web 2.0 company by, for example, buying blogger.com, one of the largest blog services companies in the world. User-driven blogging is one of the primary examples of Web 2.0 services. Google also supports a raft of easy to use Web 2.0 tools such as Google Earth, Google Calendar, Google Sketch, Writely and so on. Apple has transformed itself into a Web 2.0 company by changing focus away from computers to iPods, iTunes and iPhones. It fuelled podcasting, a major feature of Web 2.0 user-driven content, with the astoundingly popular iPod and iTunes. Podcasting is typical of a bottom-up Web 2.0 phenomenon. The distribution of simple audio files has proved to be an enduring feature of easy to create content. It has also transformed the music industry turning its traditional offline media model on its head. YouTube is as Web 2.0 as it gets. Users upload and share videos in their millions. Each video has a discussion forum and content can be used in blogs and other contexts. Started in 2005 and bought by our brand leader Google for $1.65 billion in 2006. • Microsoft IIS Installation and Configuration Guide for Helm 4
  • Depending on how your server is set up, you may or may not have Microsoft IIS installed. IIS is a mandatory install if you want to use Helm. It is used to host the Helm website, and will also host any websites you wish to create. Note:- These are guidelines only. We will not provide support for IIS or any other 3rd party applications directly. 1.) Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. 2.) Double-click Application Server. 3.) You will see that Internet Information Services (IIS) is not checked. Check the box. Press “OK”. You may need your Windows CD in the server drive before you can do this. Once completed, IIS is installed. You will now need to refer to IIS documentation to start configuring it to your requirements. Using Helm with Microsoft IIS 5 or 6 Helm will control IIS 5 or 6 on the control server or any remote server. Although IIS will be controlled by Helm with no additional configuration, there are some alterations that should be made to the global IIS settings to take advantage of everything Helm has to offer. To start, run the IIS interface on the server you wish Helm to control. Right click on the server name on the left hand side of the screen and click on “Properties” on the menu that drops down.
