Cryptanalysis of Microsoft's PPTP Authentication ExtensionsThe Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) [HP+97] is a protocol that allows Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connections [Sim94] to be tunneled through an IP network, creating a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Microsoft has implemented its own algorithms and protocols to support PPTP. This implementation of PPTP, called Microsoft PPTP, is used extensively in commercial VPN products precisely because it is already a part of the Microsoft Windows 95, 98, and NT operating systems.
The authentication protocol in Microsoft PPTP is the Microsoft Challenge / Reply Handshake Protocol (MS-CHAP) [ZC98]; the encryption protocol is Microsoft Point to Point Encryption (MPPE) [PZ98]. After Microsoft’s PPTP was cryptanalyzed [SM98] and significant weaknesses were publicized, Microsoft upgraded their protocols [Zor98a, Zor98b, Zor99]. The new version is called MS-CHAP version 2 (MS-CHAPv2); the older version has been renamed as MS-CHAP version 1 (MS-CHAPv1). MS-CHAPv2 is available as an upgrade for Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0 (DUN 1.3) [Mic98a, Mic98b]. Even though this upgrade is available, we believe that most implementation of PPTP use MS-CHAPv1.
This paper examines MS-CHAPv2 and discusses how well it addresses the security weaknesses outlined in [SM98].
The most significant changes from MS-CHAPv1 to MS-CHAPv2 are:
• The weaker LAN Manager hash is no longer sent along with the stronger Windows NT hash. This is to prevent automatic password crackers like L0phtcrack [L99] from first breaking the weaker LAN Manager hash and then using that information to break the stronger NT hash [L97].
• An authentication scheme for the server has been introduced. Parallels Desktop is powered by a lightweight hypervisor, a thin layer of software that "works" between the host computer’s hardware and Mac OS X. This results in dramatically more stable, more secure, and higher-performing virtual machines.
Parallels Desktop fully supports Intel virtualization technology (VT-x). See the Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) Support (page 8) topic.
To enhance your experience of running more than one operating system on your Macintosh computer, Parallels Desktop for the Mac includes two utilities: Parallels Image Tool and Parallels Compressor™.
Parallels Desktop has a set of special tools (utilities and drivers) that will help you use your virtual machines efficiently (mouse synchronization tool, clipboard synchronization tool, etc.). See the Parallels Tools Overview (page 67) topic for the full list of tools and their descriptions.
Key terms used in this Guide:
Primary operating system (primary OS) to designate the operating system that controls the input /output devices on the computer and that is loaded when the physical computer is turned on. Actually, it's Mac OS X.
Guest operating system (guest OS) to designate an operating system that runs under virtual machine control. One primary OS and multiple guest OSes can run at the same time on a single computer.

I will be showing you how to use the current navmesh area to set up your own custom playing areas and objects. This tutorial will focus on using the stock battlefield 2 map, "Songhua Stalemate." I'm currently navmeshing this map, so thought I would kill two birds with one stone :)
We are going to make a complete backup of your BF2 directory. Go to mods/bf2 and copy and paste it. When that's finished you should have 'Copy of bf2' there. This is going to be your untouched multiplayer and backup version if you completely screw up your files playing around in the editor. Don't umm and ahh...trust me - DO IT. The reason I'm not getting you to setup your own mod directory is that there are a few complications in getting a custom mod working perfectly in the editor, whereas the bf2 mod folder is 100% supported. I chose this path to make it as simple as possible to work for the 'layman.' If you ever want to play online just rename the bf2 folder we are modding to something like - "bf2_modding" and rename the 'Copy of bf2' back to its original 'bf2' name. Easy.

The term ‘mySAP Technology’ encompasses SAP Basis and other technologies. You Can Perform the Upgrade Yourself SAP intends that you (the customer) be able to perform an upgrade by yourself. While upgrading SAP components is not as simple as entering upgrade.exe and having the rest of the process run automatically, it is not a complex problem. However, upgrading SAP components can be an involved project. If you have an adequate number of experienced mySAP Technology and functional/business process team members, you should be able to perform the upgrade with little or no external help. Be realistic. If you do not have the proper staff to do an upgrade yourself, get the assistance of your consulting partner. In any case, you should have your consulting partner on-call if any problems arise. Download Optoma EP 739 User Manual pdfIntroduction to C# 2.0C# 2.0 introduces several language extensions, the most important of which are generics, anonymous methods, iterators, and partial types.
• Generics permit classes, structs, interfaces, delegates, and methods to be parameterized by the types of data they store and manipulate. Generics are useful because they provide stronger compile-time type checking, require fewer explicit conversions between data types, and reduce the need for boxing operations and runtime type checks.
• Anonymous methods allow code blocks to be written “in-line” where delegate values are expected. Anonymous methods are similar to lambda functions in the Lisp pro- gramming language. C# 2.0 supports the creation of “closures” where anonymous methods access surrounding local variables and parameters.
• Iterators are methods that incrementally compute and yield a sequence of values. Itera- tors make it easy for a type to specify how the foreach statement will iterate over its elements.
• Partial types allow classes, structs, and interfaces to be broken into multiple pieces stored in different source files for easier development and maintenance. Additionally, partial types allow separation of machine-generated and user-written parts of types so that it is easier to augment code generated by a tool.
This chapter introduces these new features. Following the introduction are four chapters that provide a complete technical specification of the features.
The language extensions in C# 2.0 were designed to ensure maximum compatibility with existing code. For example, even though C# 2.0 gives special meaning to the words where, yield, and partial in certain contexts, these words can still be used as identifiers.
