Installing PHP under WindowsNot a Linux fan? Looking for a hassle?free way of setting up a PHP environment on your Windows box? Read as Matthew guides us through the process of installing Apache, MySQL and PHP on a Windows based machine, otherwise known as WAMP.
This article is geared towards people who want to code and test their own, or other people's, php scripts on their Windows box. No advanced technical knowledge is assumed. This tutorial is unsuitable for advanced users. Why Apache and MySQL? Because they are available for free, quite easy to use and reliable. Why windows? Because there are many installation guides written for the Linux user, but Windows generally gets overlooked. And getting it all to work can be a real daunting task.
What is Apache?
Apache is our web server of choice; it’s free, reliable and well supported. In fact, as of October 2003 apache web servers had a market of over 67%, compared to their nearest rival Microsoft’s ISS having under 25% (http://news.netcraft.com/) So its not just a few people who think Apache is a good thing! A web server basically serves web pages from the server to the client browser. For every page you see when connecting to the internet, somewhere there is a network server sending it to you. The pages are usually sent in html format, along with images and other media.

Designed originally to support the specification of ASP.NET Web Pages and Web Services in APL, APLScript may also be used outside the Microsoft .NET environment. An APLScript is not workspace oriented (although you can call workspaces from it) but is simply a Unicode character file containing function bodies and expressions. APLScript files may be viewed and edited using any character-based editor such as Notepad or Microsoft Word. APLScript files are compiled by aplc.exe, the Dyalog APLScript compiler.

In order to type Dyalog symbols into an APLScript file, a Dyalog Input Method Editor (IME) is included and automatically added to your working set of IMEs during installation.
There are basically three types of APLScript files that may be identified by three different file extensions.
• .aspx files specify .NET classes that represent ASP.NET Web Pages
• .asmx files specify .NET classes that represent ASP.NET Web Services
• .apl files may specify general .NET classes
Note that .apl files may also be used simply to represent an APL application in a script format as opposed to a workspace format. Such applications do not necessarily require the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Installation Instructions
Install the software BEFORE connecting any hardware. Uninstall any previous versions prior to loading the current version. For more installation details follow the “Getting Started” sheet included with your Huntron product. While in Windows (2000, XP or Vista), insert the Huntron Workstation CDROM. The CDROM should Autorun and display the Installation page in a browser window.
Select Install Workstation and follow the on-screen prompts for instructions while proceeding. When complete the programs listing will have a new program group called “Huntron” and an icon will be placed on the desktop. Select Install CAD Tools if you have purchased additional CAD Tools. For all Prober users, you will need to install the NI Vision for Auto Align. Access USB Prober users will need to install the Camera and Probe Tip Camera drivers.
