Basic Walk-Cycle Tutorial MayaThis tutorial is intended to teach new animation students a few basic animation techniques and workflow based on fundamental animation principles using Maya and a free character setup named walkingBall_v2.3 created by the author. This character setup or “rig” has many useful features without being overwhelming to newer students. This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Maya interface, find menu commands, and other basic computer file management skills.
Powerful 3D applications such as Maya require a predefined location to save data and files while you are working. Large studio animation production lines typically create custom software for managing project file structures, to control naming conventions, and to track revisions. Absent such large studio resources we will use the method of organizing files and data that the developers of Maya created called a “Project”. The beauty of this is that you can have multiple projects simultaneously, each with its own set of resources
This tutorial also assumes you are somewhat new to 3D software and animation concepts. We will be using a basic pose-to-pose approach of animation. Pose-to-pose animation is what its name implies, creating character movement by establishing primary positions, or poses, and methodically moving the character from one pose to the next. Different, but just as valid methods such as straight-ahead or layered animation are not described in this tutorial.

You may be familiar with VMWare or Virtual PC that are used to emulate various operating systems in a virtual environment. These programs allow you to run operating systems such as Windows XP Professional or Ubuntu Linux in a virtual environment on your computer. GNS3 allows the same type of emulation using Cisco Internetwork Operating Systems. It allows you to run a Cisco IOS in a virtual environment on your computer. GNS3 is a graphical front end to a product called Dynagen. Dynamips is the core program that allows IOS emulation. Dynagen runs on top of Dynamips to create a more user friendly, text-based environment. A user may create network topologies using simple Windows ini-type files with Dynagen running on top of Dynamips. GNS3 takes this a step further by providing a graphical environment.
GNS3 allows the emulation of Cisco IOSs on your Windows or Linux based computer. Emulation is possible for a long list of router platforms and PIX firewalls. Using an EtherSwitch card in a router, switching platforms may also be emulated to the degree of the card’s supported functionality. This means that GNS3 is an invaluable tool for preparing for Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP. There are a number of router simulators on the market, but they are limited to the commands that the developer chooses to include. Almost always there are commands or parameters that are not supported when working on a practiceLoad Testing Web 2.0 Technologies Ajax-RIA-SOA-Web ServicesWeb 2.0, RIA, AJAX and SOA are terms and abbreviations we hear and use on a daily basis. But do we know what they mean for us as professional performance testers? This document provides an overview of the relevant Web2.0 terms and elaborates on how to run performance tests on these applications. The document targets the performance testing professional as well as the R&D manager looking for information on how to prepare for this new era.
The internet world is evolving with new technologies and architecture models. Web2.0 is a major evolution of Internet applications and provides new options for internet application providers. Web2.0 enables improving the user experience, creating more efficient applications and increasing the productivity of the users and the enterprise.
People most often associate Web2.0 with user-generated content websites, typified by tagging content, blogging, wish lists, and RSS feeds. Some enterprise applications boast a recent Web 2.0 interface called “Enterprise 2.0”, but, issues of performance, privacy and personalization are still blocking many enterprises from adopting this new internet trend. On the other hand technology enablers, such as the SOA system architecture and RIA’s rich UI are likely to eventually converge with Web 2.0 concepts. The combination of different technologies, architectures and concepts will all create new dimensions of internet applications.
RadView, as a leading provider of performance testing software for Internet Applications, provides solutions and guidelines for testing Web2.0 applications. RadView’s current and future product roadmap offers a high level solution enabling developers to secure the Performance, Scalability and ReliabilityThe Neural Basis of Decision MakingA decision is a deliberative process that results in the commitment to a categorical proposition. An apt analogy is a judge or jury that must take time to weigh evidence for alternative interpretations and/or possible ramifications before settling on a verdict. Here we evaluate progress in understanding how this process is implemented in the brain. Our scope is somewhat narrow: We consider primarily studies that relate behavior on simple sensory-motor tasks to activity measured in the brain because of the ability to precisely control sensory input, quantify motor output, and target relevant brain regions for measurement and analysis. Nevertheless, our intent is broad: We hope to identify principles that seem likely to contribute to the kinds of flexible and nuanced decisions that are a hallmark of higher cognition. SDT: signal detection theory SA: sequential analysis
The organization of this review is as follows. We first describe the computational elements that comprise the decision process. We then briefly review signal detection theory (SDT) and sequential analysis (SA), two related branches of statistical decision theory that represent formal, mathematical prescriptions for how to form a decision using these computational elements. We then dissect several experimental results in the context of this theoretical framework to identify neural substrates of decision making. We conclude with a discussion of the strengths and limitations of this approach for inferring principles of higher brain function.
Elements of a Decision
The decisions required for many sensory-motor tasks can be thought of as a form of statistical inference (Kersten et al. 2004,NetQin Mobile Anti-Virus for Smartphone Version 2.2 Users ManualWe believe it is a wise choice for you to use our product in this mobile virus-disturbing world. 1. Remove a-pillar trim by locating upper seam and prying outward. Use clean hands and avoid using any type of tool to pry. Once a small opening is created at the pillar top, use some force to release the 4 plastic mounting clips. With a-pillar cover pulled out, lift upwards and remove completely.
2. On a clean surface, lay out gauge pod and a-pillar trim. There will be a faint imprint on the a-pillar trim outlining the top of the dashboard. The bottom (plastic) edge of the gauge pod should be positioned to follow this line and rest on the dashboard. The dashed line in the drawing below represents the top of the dashboard.
3. Line edges up and wrap the fabric tabs over the a-pillar trim. Use sharp scissors to precisely notch the tabs where any protrusions of the pillar trim exist. Use masking tape to secure fabric tabs during test fitment. With gauge pod positioned, test fit the assembled gauge pod and a-pillar trim to check fitment. Adjust as required.
4. Once you have the pod positioned correctly, begin to mark the a-pillar trim for drilling.* See diagrams below for approximate positioning of the hole to be drilled. The hole should be at least 3/8” in diameter to accommodate tubing and wiring. The position of the hole should be such that the tubing can easily route from the gauge without any sharp bends.Handbook for the Palm V Modem ManualChaper 1: Introduction What can I do with my Palm V Modem?

With this capability, the network can inform applications about availability, and the application instructs the network on where to direct traffic – without manual intervention and its associated costs. With this highly available, extremely secure solution in place, enterprises can expect increased ROI from their Web applications.
Challenge Today’s applications consist of many bits and pieces that a limited workforce of skilled Web administrators may not have the time or resources to adequately manage and control. And efficiently managing application deployment and availability for large-scale web applications from multiple locales has been difficult at best. “Customers are moving from a client-server architecture to a predominantly web-based distributed architecture,” said Garth Fort, Group Project Manager, Microsoft. “Microsoft’s .NET vision is about evolving our tools and our platform to help customer build the next generation applications. F5 Networks has built-out a comprehensive suite of products to manage the delivery of those applications in a distributed environment. It’s an ideal fit.”
The goal for both F5 and Microsoft was to enable applications to send control messages to network devices, providing a layer between the network and the application as it added new intelligence. With this capability, the network can inform applications about availability, for instance, and the application instructs the network on where to direct traffic – without manual intervention.
