  • PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) Overview Some of the key features that distinguish these computers from earlier notebook models include: ” 12-inch active-matrix display in aluminum alloy enclosure ” built-in Bluetooth ” slot load optical drive ” optional AirPort Extreme Card and Base Station The external housing of the PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) model looks the same as the PowerBook G4 (12-inch) model except for one port. To distinguish the models, look for a mini-DVI port (shown below) on the PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) computer. PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) The mini-DVI port is used with an adapter cable to connect the computer to a monitor, television, VCR, or other video device. The adapter cables that can be used with this port include a mini-DVI-to-DVI adapter, a mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter, and a mini-DVI-to-S-Video adapter. By contrast, the PowerBook G4 (12-inch) computer has a video-out VGA port instead of a mini-DVI port. PowerBook G4 (12-inch) Specific model differences that are noted in the Take Apart procedures include ” Reed Switch Board and Cable For the PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) model, this part is called the “Hall Effect Sensor Board and Cable,” but the procedure is the same. ” DC-to-DC Board The component layout on the board differs, but the procedure is the same. ” Heatsink The heatsink shape and thermal pad placement differs. ” Inner Frame The main frame shape differs, but the procedure is similar. ” RJ11 Modem Board The procedure is the same, but the placement of the tape that secures the cable

  • AutoCAD® 2004 Tutorial Second Level: 3D Modeling Manual
  • The AutoCAD surface modeler defines faceted surfaces using a filled polygon. The created faces of surface models are only planar, which means the surface models can only have approximate curved surfaces. It is important to note that the AutoCAD surface modeler does not create true curved surfaces. To differentiate these two types of surfaces, faceted surfaces are called meshes in AutoCAD. Because of the use of faceted approximation on true curved surfaces, the computer requirements of most faceted surface modelers are typically much less than that of solid modelers. Faceted surface modeling usually provides reasonably good representations of 3D designs with fast rendering and shading capabilities. Faceted surface models are also useful for creating geometry with unusual surface patterns, such as a 3D topographical model of mountainous terrain. • Functional Differentiation of Computer Programs
  • We present a purely functional implementation of the computational differentiation tools — the well known numeric (i.e., not symbolic) techniques which permit one to compute point-wise derivatives of functions defined by computer programs economically and exactly (with machine precision). We show how the use of lazy evaluation permits a transparent and elegant construction of the entire infinite tower of derivatives of higher order for any expressions present in the program. The formalism may be useful in various problems of scientific computing which often demand a hard and ungracious human preprocessing before writing the final code. Some concrete examples are given. The aim of this paper is to show the usefulness of lazy functional techniques in the domain of scientific computing. We present a functional implementation of the Computational Differentiation techniques which permit an effi- cient computation of (point-wise, numeric) derivatives of functions defined by computer programs. A previous version of this work has been presented at the 1998 International Conference on Functional Programming [14]. A fast and accurate differentiation is essential for many problems in applied mathematics. The derivatives are needed for all kind of approximations: gradient methods of equation solving, many sorts of asymptotic expansions, etc. They are needed for optimization and for the sensitivity and stability analysis of dynamical systems. They permit the computation of geometric properties of curves and surfaces in 3D modelling, image synthesis and animation. In the domain of differential equations, they are used not only directly, but also as an analytic tool for evaluating the numerical

  • AutoCAD® LT 2005 Tutorial with MultiMedia CD
  • Learning to use a CAD system is similar to learning a new language. We need to begin with the basic alphabet and learn how to use the basic alphabet correctly and effectively Material through practice. This will require learning some new concepts and skills as well as learning a different vocabulary. All CAD systems create designs using basic geometric entities. Most of the constructions used in technical designs are based upon two-dimensional planar geometry. The method and number of operations that are required to accomplish the construction are different from one system to another. Download PDF for AutoCAD® LT 2005 Tutorial with MultiMedia CD

  • VideoEase S-Video Balun Application Guide pdf
  • The purpose of this document is to explain how to apply the S-Video Balun under different operating conditions and to discuss issues not covered in the Product Installation Guide. There are three models; S-Video Balun (500016), S-Video/Audio Balun (500017) and S-Video Hi-Fi Balun (500039). The 500016 supports S-Video only and the 500017/500039) support S-Video and two audio channels. Both products are compatible with MuxLab s Audio-Video Distribution Hub (Part#500200). Function of the S-Video Balun The function of the S-Video Balun is to allow traditional S-Video coaxial cable to be replaced by Category 5 (or better) twisted pair cable for more cost-effective cabling. Used in pairs, the S-Video Balun allows S-Video display equipment to be located up to 1000 feet (305m) from the S-Video source, thus exceeding standard S-Video cable distance limitations which is approximately 300 feet (90m). Due to the lower cost and ease of installation of Category 5 cable, significant material and installation savings may be achieved. Furthermore, due to the excellent crosstalk immunity, multiple S-Video signals may be transmitted adjacent to one another under a multipair (4, 25, 50, 100, etc) Cat 5 cable, thereby optimizing the cable and further reducing the material cost per foot of cabling. The S-Video Balun may be applied in the following areas: Multi-media Projector Systems: Allows a multi-media projector to be placed at extended distances from a laptop or PC in a conference room or training room environment. Allows the presenter to stand at a distance from the projector so as not to
