Google Chrome is out, brand new and shiny, and with its launch a new set of standards for all web browsers is implemented for both end users and developers. At this moment the Internet is flooded with details and info on Google’s newest and hottest application designed to link the user to the pool of information on the web. Unlike successful browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera and even Internet Explorer, Google’s approach in building Chrome differs in that the app is built from scratch without giving in to formalities (that is why, at first use, most users will waste time looking for the menu bar). The program seems as if all the features were added as soon as the tester needed them. None of its features are unnecessary or redundant in terms of access.

This is tutorial #2 in the series for changing or removing backgrounds. This method uses the extraction tool available in Photoshop CS2 (I’m not sure if it’s available in Photoshop CS, but it won’t be available in any version prior to this). Unfortunately, unless other softwares contain this tool (I don’t know of any that do), the tutorial will only be geared to those who own Photoshop CS2 upwards.

SSS simulates light scattering under the surface of an object. Done right, it can have very convincing effects on many materials such as skin, stone, milk, etc. The downside is that it can be very expensive to render and takes a bit of tweaking to get right. If SSS is too expensive, there are multiple ways to fake the effect.

In this intro several abbreviations are used:
LMB – Left mouse button

In this tutorial, I will show you how to setup a studio lighting rig that I use mainly for vehicle rendering. Basic to intermediate knowledge of 3DS Max is needed for this tutorial. I will be using 3DS MAX 9 for this tutorial, if you have a different version, your button configuration may be a slightly different. This process will take about 10-30 minutes, depending on your particular skill level.

This chapter describes how to position the LitePro for optimum viewing, how to connect computers and video equipment to the LitePro, and how to power up the projector. Getting started 1. Choose a location where you can dim the lighting. ” To use the LitePro in a well-lit room, use a special high gain screen, which you can obtain from your In Focus dealer. 2. Place the LitePro on a flat surface. 3. Orient the LitePro so that its lens is at a right angle to the projec-tion screen. ” If you want to use the LitePro s Rear Project feature, set it up behind a translucent screen. See Rear Proj on page 28. 4. Remove the lens cover. 5. Plug the power cord into the LitePro, then plug it into your elec-trical outlet. Always use the power cord that was shipped with your LitePro.
