JADE (Java Agent DEvelopment framework) Introductions in PDFA Hands-on Intensive Workshop on agent development using JADE framework, organized by the Gerstner Laboratory. JADE (Java Agent DEvelopment framework) is runtime environment for development of FIPA compliant inter- operable agents. Currently in version 3.0, JADE is the most widely used agent development framework. JADE is open source, distributed under Lesser General Public License. The course is intended for people familiar with Java programming language and the basic concepts of multi-agent systems, who want to start developing agents using JADE. No prior experience with agent programming is needed. Each course participant receives a CD with JADE in- stallation, documentation and course material (slides and example source codes).
The course takes place in computer classroom with every participant having own computer (option to use personal laptop provided). We recommend pair programming. These systems are secured using message-based cryptographic mechanisms defined in a series of specifications developed by Microsoft, IBM, and others. Such home-grown security protocols often go wrong; they are prone to a well-known class of attacks, formalized by Dolev and Yao, where an attacker can intercept, modify, and replay messages. The vulnerability is only increased by the flexible message formats and complex trust configurations allowed by the standards. Our goal is to verify the security of families of protocol configurations, such as those deployed for Microsoft’s WSE and Indigo web services implementations.
We propose a new specification language for writing machine-checkable descriptions of SOAP-based security protocol configurations and their properties. Our TulaFale language is based on the pi calculus (for writing collections of SOAP processors running in parallel), plus XML syntax (to express SOAP messaging), logical predicates (to construct and filter SOAP messages), and correspondence assertions (to specify authentication goals of protocols). Our implementation compiles TulaFale into the applied pi calculus, and then runs Blanchet’s resolution-based protocol verifier. The TulaFale implementation is available for download.
We also describe a high-level link language for describing security configurations, and demonstrate a tool that can automatically generate and analyze executable security policy deployments for web services written using WSE. This is the first tool we know of that can automatically analyze cryptographic configurations to find real errors and demonstrable attacks.

This paper discusses how the tools and techniques available within 3ds max can be harnessed to produce complex interactive models, which are viewable with a VRML browser.
Chapters 1.1 and 1.2 set out the scope and motivation for this paper. Chapter 1.3 describes the working platform, testing platform and the software packages used in our projects. Chapter 2 provides a brief overview of 3ds max modelling software and chapter 3 offers an overview of VRML language. Chapter 4 gives a short description of what interactivity in virtual worlds means and considers the user expectations of interactivity.
What 3ds max offers for achieving interactivity in 3D models targeted for use in VRML and how we used this functionality in our projects, is brought together in chapter 4.1. When all objects are placed and scene is constructed (Chapter 4.1.), next significant step is to export the scene into VRML. Chapter 5 explains how this is done. Chapter 6 is a discussion of our experience derived from our work on the two projects. Chapter 7 is the conclusion and contains our final words on the topic.
