Coma and astigmatism of NICMOS cameras have been derived using phase retrieval analysis of the data from the NICMOS focus monitoring program. Analysis of these aberrations has revealed that y-coma in all three camera experienced a systematic change over the NICMOS lifetime in Cycles 7 and 7a. A similar variation has been found for x-astigmatism in camera 2. In camera 3, the x-astigmatism increased dramatically after the FOM had been given a y-tilt of 16 arcsec. X-coma and y-astigmatism in all cameras did not show substantial systematic variations over the same period of time. The results of this study should help to understand the origin of the NICMOS optics instability. They should also facilitate interpretation of possible changes in NICMOS cameras when they are back to operations after installation of the cryocooler in Cycle 10.

Authors create and change documents locally and upload them to a Web server, where they can be accessed by their collaborators. However, Web browsers and servers which implement the protocol HTTP are mostly limited to provide reading access to Web documents. For this reason, existing Web-based groupware systems (e.g. the BSCW system) are implemented using client/server side scripting. These scripts are used to implement the basic operations needed for this kind of applications.
The protocol WebDAV (World Wide Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) which was developed as an extension of HTTP/1.1 by the WebDAV working group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and defines new methods which offer additional services for editing and managing files on remote Web servers in a structured way (e.g. locking, version management, metadata management, etc.). When using WebDAV, the Web is becoming a rich infrastructure for collaborative applications, where the Web-DAV methods can be used to implement the basic operations needed (e.g. copy, delete, upload, assign metadata to documents, etc.). Scripting can be used in this context as well, but not for implementing the basic tasks of collaboration, but to simplify maintenance of the application.

In Section 3, we briefly summarize related work in the area of implementing Web-based groupware systems and we give a short description of two systems, BSCW and DReSS. Web 2.0 will affect how universities go about the business of education, from learning, teaching and assessment, through contact with school communities, widening participation, interfacing with industry, and maintaining contact with alumni. However, it would be a mistake to consider Web 2.0 as the sole driver of these changes; in reality Web 2.0 is just one part of the Higher Education (HE) ecosystem. Other drivers include, for example, pressures to greater efficiency, changes in student population, and ongoing emphasis on better learning and teaching methods.
Nonetheless, Web 2.0 is, in our view, a technology with profound potential for inducing change in the HE sector. In this, the possible realms of learning to be opened up by the catalytic effects of Web 2.0 technologies are attractive, allowing greater student independence and autonomy, greater collaboration, and increased pedagogic efficiency.
