Lotus Notes Basics
To use Notes, you must have a user id (a small password protected file on your computer), and know your username and password.
The first time you open Notes, you will be presented with the following box; you must enter your password to continue.
To change you password, choose File – Security – User Security. Then click the Change Password button.
If you leave your computer, press F5 to log off/lock your computer. Locking your Notes display lets you protect your data when you are away from your computer, without having to close the databases you are working in. It is a good idea to lock your Notes display whenever you leave data unattended.

Unfortunately, this has opened a wide avenue for new attacks since it is as easy to unintentionally introduce new vulnerabilities into web applications as it is to intentionally introduce new functionality. Consequently, web applications have increasingly been the focus of attackers.
Honeypots are popular and effective tools for studying new attack patterns. A honeypot is an information system resource whose value lies in unauthorized or illicit use of that resource [16]. Honeypots are electronic decoys, that pretend to be normal system but are really waiting to be attacked and compromised for the purpose of tracking attackers. Honeypots are equipped with special monitoring software which makes it easier to study successful attacks in detail. Honeynets are networks of honeypots have proven to be a very effective tool in learning more about Internet crime like credit card fraud [11] or botnets [4] and as sensors in intrusion detection systems.
The simplest form of a honeypot is a real vulnerable system that has been modified to include surveillance methods. Such a system is called a high-interaction honeypots because the attacker is able to fully interact with the honeypot just like a real system. This offers the best potential for analyzing all aspects of an attack, but also introduces risk that the attacker will use the capabilities of the system to attack others. Under Tools, Options (Alt-t o), set the following:
“View” tab: Print and Web Layout Options—check Drawings and Object Anchors
“General” tab: If you are using Office XP, UNcheck “Automatically create Drawing Canvas when inserting AutoShapes”
(The Drawing Canvas is a new feature in Word 2002, designed to make it easy to create a complex shape. I have yet to discover any value to it, and find it to be simply a nuisance.)
“Edit” tab: Check “Enable click and type”. This may be useful when you are working with a drawing, since it allows you to position text in relation to the drawing without hitting the Enter key repeatedly.
If you are using Word 2002, I recommend unchecking “Show Paste Option Buttons”. These buttons get in the way, and even sneak there way into my web documents!
Customizing the Drawing Toolbar
To display the Drawing toolbar, click your right-mouse button on the grey area at the top of the window, which will bring down the Toolbars menu. Check “Drawing”. I like to have certain buttons displayed on my toolbar. To put buttons onto the toolbar, you need to customize the toolbar: Click the right-mouse button on the grey area at the top of the window and choose the bottom-most item: Customize (You can just press the “c” key).
Click the Commands tab at the top of the dialog box, and under Categories click “Drawing”. You may then drag icons from the Commands list at the right onto the Drawing toolbar.

A MySQL database is just a useful way to store and order a lot of information. “Databases are most useful when it comes to storing information that fits into logical categories. For example, say that you wanted to store information of all the employees in a company. With a database you can group different parts of your business into separate tables to help store your information logically. Example tables might be: Employees, Supervisors, and Customers. Each table would then contain columns specific to these three areas.”
Utilizing a MySQL Database with PHP adds functionality that will let us create Web Applications, such as BLOGS and Social Networking Sites ( re: Facebook, Myspace etc) . Think of a site with a lot of searchable information such as CNN, The NYTIMES or PITCH- FORKMEDIA. Guaranteed they all use some form of Database structure.
